Welcome to finish it up Friday! I'm happy to share my chopped rhubarb quilt with you today! I just finished the binding this morning. I LOVE how this one turned out!
As I said earlier, I couldn't help but to jump on the scrappy trip bandwagon. I loved the comment that Charlotte left saying she would be shocked if I didn't. That gave me a good chuckle. This pattern was a lot of fun to make. I can totally see revisiting it sometime in the future.
I noticed I had one fabric repeat in the top (oops!), so I only used 119 unique fabrics in the top. (ha!) All from scraps and stash. Hurray for using what you've got!
For the backing I used this CUTE Riley Blake print that I picked up last summer. It wasn't quite wide enough, so I patched in a few solid strips of fabric in some of my favorite colors, lime and aqua. It was a happy accident/design element that helps to show off the quilting on the back. Love that detail.
For the binding...Ta Dot by Michael Miller. One final zing to finish off the quilt. I like it a lot. :)
I decided that I'm keeping this one. My daughter and I will be sharing it. She was super thrilled to hear that. (My husband will be so thrilled, too. ha! He might think we have too many quilts. Oh, the gall he has to suggest such things!)
It finishes at 48" x 60".
I haven't washed and dried it yet, but I will be sure to share photos and a full report of it post-washing.
Pattern/tutorial can be found here.
Quilting info can be found here. (This may be a new favorite!)

In progress photos here, here and here.
Do you have a finish to share? If so, please link up! Happy happy Friday to you!

(and maybe covet just a little)
It is fantastic. I love it.
as usual...I love your colors. ;)
Your quilt is beautiful!
Love. It. I am still working on my trip around the world, which is not so scrappy. I did all FMF fabrics with one of her fabrics from Joann's. Anyway, congrats on finishing! I would keep it too if I were you!
I love it. I keep telling myself that I have enough of those blocks, but then I find a way to justify making a few more....
I love it! I think it turned out great! I'm glad you're keeping it!
This one makes me very happy! Love your quilting too.

Great finish, love the colors and I love the name of it, except I don't go for rhubarb! what a woman you are!
Lovely quilt! Love the colors!
Looks great. I linked up my scrappy trip along today too.
Never TOO many quilts. This is a great one for you and your daughter to share. Happy Weekend.
Quilts are great for bitter winter season! The background fabric is really cute... I am planning make one after my two {single girl} quilts that I am working on now. I haven't have any good finished lately, but yesterday finished a patchwork zippered pouch for a friend. :) Happy weekending and stay warm~
I've said it before - your quilts make me want to quilt. And I've never really had that desire before. I adore this quilt! It's stunning! g
Oh, AmandaJean, this is just drool-worthy ! But I wouldn't do that to your beautiful quilt, so I'll just keep trying to finish my own that you inspired !
I was so upset when I saw your quilting and thought that it was the serpentine stitch, because I looked before and my zigzag machine doesn't have that. But then I read the earlier post about this stitch, and realized that I HAVE the triple zigzag........I'm not sure that mine will stretch out this far, but atleast I have hope again ! I just love how that looks !
Beautiful work, all inspired by chopped rhubarb......how divine !
I absolutely LOVE it! And I am going to borrow your new quilting stitch. I finally started digging around in my UFO closet and pulled a couple out. There WILL be some finishes for me in the future. I pinky swear.
This looks like such a fun quilt, Amanda! Love the name, and the print you chose for binding is perfect!
LOVE LOVE LOVE! that was the perfect backing for your little scrappy quilt!
It's so fresh and fun! I would keep it too
I love this! I've browsed the scrappy trip quilts, yours is by far the best color scheme I've seen! You being a lefty makes so much sense, your amazing at picking colors!
The dot binding is a great final zing! Great pop! And how could you possibly have too many quilts??? That's just obsurd! (:
I love how your quilt turned out! And oh how I love that quilting stitch that you discovered. Unfortunately, my machine doesn't have an option to choose that wide stitch :( I was truly bummed about that. Might need to shop for a new machine....for that reason alone!! I think it's great that you're keeping it for yourself!
So pretty! It looks so sparkly in the snow.
I just love you colors! Beautiful quilt.
It turned out so beautiful! I don't blame you for keeping it and don't worry, my husband might think the same thing in our house ;-) Great quiltiing too!
Amanda
I just love your quilt! So happy colours, and I get happy myself by looking at it.

119 unique fabrics. Geez! Even if I did have that many in my stash, i seriously doubt they would blend as nicely as yours do. Swell finish!
you chose the perfect name for it! And the simple quilting is perfect too.
I love the rhubarb color combination. It's super yummy!!
What a beauty! Well done on another fab finish!!
Wow, I so love your color scheme! It's gorgeous!
How do you like the size? I was debating between doing a 4 x 5 size and a 5 x 6 size. Do you feel like it covers you pretty well as a throw?
I would love to jump on the bandwagon, but ˆ promised my self to not start anything new until the UFO's are done! YOurs is wonderful!!
I just love, love your scrappy trip along - inspired binding choice and sweet texture from that quilting, too! I love using the wavy line and was very happy that my new(ish) Pfaff has it because that was what I thought I'd miss most from the Bernina I traded in.
I LOVE this quilt!
Beautiful! You can never have to many quilts! That's such a great way to use all your scraps! How many individual blocks are there total?
Glorious. I love this Rhubarb!
Chopped Rhubarb is fantastic! Love it from all sides...

hi! beautiful quilt!! i love reading your blog and find it very inspirational-i don't know how you do it! anyway, i wanted to link my quilt here to show you how i tied it after seeing how you had tied the quilt top you "inherited" last year(i believe it was in february). after finishing my quilt top, i wasn't especially enamored with it, but after tying it with red heart yarn, i really like it!! thanks for saving my quilt, and thanks for the inspiration!( and it had to be the red heart for the vintage feel:))
