finish it up Friday, 10/26/12

welcome to finish it up Friday! today all i can say is, "oh, my achin' back."

i've finally finished painting a few rooms in my house and put them all back together. i hate living in a state of limbo, but i've been there for 3 weeks. that much painting back to back is NOT a good idea. BUT...let's see the progress!
my daughter's room is finished. the walls were previously painted, but all the trim, windows, baseboards, ledge, door and closet doors got at least 3 coats of shiny white paint. isn't it a cute little girl's room? (i had to quick snap some photos while it was still clean!) i think she needs a few more pillows. and a few more quilts, too. they don't quite meet in the middle. :)
all that white trim it almost makes the hunter green carpet bearable. :)
i also finished all the trim, windows, doors and stuff in the master bedroom.
oh how I love the white trim. again, it makes the blue carpet not quite so bad.
everything in the master bathroom got a fresh coat of paint, too, including the trim. the bathroom is broken up into 2 different rooms, so the main part got a new coat of blue and then the other space got a fresh coat of off white paint. i don't recall that i've actually painted any walls white since i was at home living with my dad 19 years ago. i do love some color on my walls! but i had white leftover paint in the basement and i wanted to use what i had. so white it was.
still more painting to do, but i'm so glad that some rooms are finished! it's amazing what paint can do! if you have all kinds of time. :)

now it's your turn! link up your finishes of the week. thanks so much for joining me!
happy Friday to you!

So much trim! Good for you for finishing it up. Your daughter's room looks absolutely darling, but I agree that she needs just a few more quilts.

Thanks for continuing to host the Finish it up Friday even though you are so incredibly busy. I hope to have a finish to post later today.

I love the results of a freshly painted room but yeah the work of it all is just tough to get through.
Congratulations for your perseverance!
As we look for a new home I understand more and more why things "need to be done" in the house we preview :0)...it is just hard work and disruptive to do any home improvement! But you "finished it up"!

Happy Sewing

I know all the work that had to go into that painting. I've been painting our very small home recently. It is so worth it though when it's finished. I love seeing that little patchwork dress hanging in your girl's room. It's one of the first tutorials of yours I found!!! So cute.

I adore your daughter's bedroom, so sweet! I love the ledge as the chair rail, that's a great touch!

If you don't like the carpet - you could always pull it up and paint the sub-flooring with deck paint. I saw it in Country Living magazine & it looked AMAZING! Of course, that is a lot of work for a house you are selling, but just a thought. Might come in handy in the future.... ;)

sigh, i so want to paint a lot of the rooms in my house...but the baseboard and crown molding is all brown. paint it white, you say? like you did so beautifully? well, unfortunately it's not in the greatest condition, so we'll probably just have to replace it all. and i'm not quite ready for that project yet....darn you baseboard!!!

Your house looks so pretty, I´m sure you´ll sell it easily. I wish they´d build houses in this style in our area (except for the carpets :))

Great work! The house will surely sell quickly! All my trim needs to be painted. When we moved in, we primed it, but it still needs paint. Wanna come over? LOL. Good luck!

Makes me tired just thinking about all of that painting, but it looks great! Love the blue walls with the white trim.

I love your daughter's room, how lucky she is!

Enjoy that ability to paint while you can. You never think your body will stop you doing these everyday things. I painted so much once.....now have to negotiate and save for others to do it. It looks fabulous.

Your house looks lovely! I think the blue color with the white looks fantastic. It seems your hard work is paying off!!

A lovely room for a little girl!! I never painted a room. We have been living in apartment, so we get what the apartment comes with. She has so many pillows in her bed!!:)

We've been redorating too and I've used a light coffee colour on the walls of our main bedroom but was stumped on what to use for the girl's room. I like your beigy colour neutral it creates a great backdrop for the pink and the quilts :o)
