dress!!!!!!

I finished my dress! And it fits!

I LOVE it!!!

I'm very happy that it won't be graded by a Home Ec teacher because I don't think I'd get a very good grade. BUT...it fits, AND it's wearable...even out of the house! I'd call that a success.

Pattern: New Look 6557
Fabric: clearance cotton ($3/yard)
Total cost of fabric, pattern, zipper and supplies: less than $20
Not. Too. Bad.

Very cute and one of a kind! I'd give it an A+.

Only a home ec teacher would turn it inside out to critique seam finishes, etc.

Your dress is lovely :) I have this same pattern...for a year now...and just can't bring myself to make it. I love it, but have no clothes sewing talent or ability to read a pattern, for that matter. Yours looks great though! I'm happy it fits :)

The dress is fabulous - I'd give you an A! and omg, you are going to be in Madison Thursday...and I have a choir concert for my daughter - dang. it! But peeking over at the shop's site made my day - I have never heard of it, I haven't been sewing much - so to see something so cool is so close - thanks! So sorry to miss you though!

Good job, and although you have 'dress' on your small project list, I'd say not exactly a small project! The first of many, I'm sure... now that you've got book signings to do. :-)

I LOVE YOUR DRESS! I'm going to put "sun dress" on my to-do list right now. The dresses in stores all too short, too long, and too expensive. Love you blog!
