I finished my dress! And it fits!
I LOVE it!!!
I'm very happy that it won't be graded by a Home Ec teacher because I don't think I'd get a very good grade. BUT...it fits, AND it's wearable...even out of the house! I'd call that a success.
Pattern: New Look 6557
Fabric: clearance cotton ($3/yard)
Total cost of fabric, pattern, zipper and supplies: less than $20
Not. Too. Bad.

Very cute and one of a kind! I'd give it an A+.
Only a home ec teacher would turn it inside out to critique seam finishes, etc.
It's lovely :) And it looks great on you!!!!
It looks lovely. Well done!
Your dress is lovely :) I have this same pattern...for a year now...and just can't bring myself to make it. I love it, but have no clothes sewing talent or ability to read a pattern, for that matter. Yours looks great though! I'm happy it fits :)
All the stuff i sew for myself I never feel looks good enough to actually wear, but yours looks smashing!
Do a little happy dance for your awesome finish!
Great dress. It looks very summery.
The dress looks great!! Although I'm slightly worried your face has turned into a camera ;)

AMANDA JEAN!!! What a departure from what I usually see here! Congratulations on a gorgeous sewing project that's not a quilt. I'm looking forward to seeing more along these lines. Good for you!

The dress is fabulous - I'd give you an A! and omg, you are going to be in Madison Thursday...and I have a choir concert for my daughter - dang. it! But peeking over at the shop's site made my day - I have never heard of it, I haven't been sewing much - so to see something so cool is so close - thanks! So sorry to miss you though!
Your dress turned out beautifully! It looks like a great fit on you, and I love the print. Thanks for sharing the pattern info. I'm hoping to make a skirt and a dress this summer, so I need to remember this one.
I am glad you got it done. I bought fabric for a shirt I want to make...we'll see how it goes.
It's gorgeous!!! What a great job! I can't sew clothes. They never fit right. Way to go Amanda Jean!

Tutorial Please! =)
That looks great!
It is beautiful! I love how it turned out, and now you know you can do it!:)
Good job, and although you have 'dress' on your small project list, I'd say not exactly a small project! The first of many, I'm sure... now that you've got book signings to do. :-)
Very pretty dress!!
I LOVE YOUR DRESS! I'm going to put "sun dress" on my to-do list right now. The dresses in stores all too short, too long, and too expensive. Love you blog!
