this quilt was finished thanks to:
-My phenomonal neighbor, Martha, who stepped into my crazy 3 ring circus life yesterday to help me iron. She ironed and I sewed. For hours!! It was wonderful! Thank you so much, Martha!!
-My massive adrenaline rush after my first book signing last night. A HUGE thank you to all of you who came out to the library last night to listen to me share about my quilts and my new book. The evening totally excedded my expectations. YAY!!! After that, how could I sleep? The way I see it, if you can't sleep, why not quilt?!? :) I finished this top about 1 this morning. :)
-and all of YOU who join me in this challenge each week. If I didn't have the accountability, I have no doubt that just a few oatmeal blocks would be languishing in a basket somewhere, creating more chaos. So I thank YOU for keeping me motivated. It's just the push I need!

I LOVE this quilt!! And I was with you last night at 1:00 AM sewing. Just had the sewing machine all warmed up and had to keep going :-)

ReplyDeleteI love this quilt! I have been drawn to neutral tops like this recently, which is interesting because I do LOVE color. I like the idea of a colorful binding, too. I finally have a finish to show off, so I am linking up.

ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of a quilt we used to have that Emma made ages ago. I think there was a block not very different than these in it somewhere. Do you remember that?
ReplyDeleteI was at a quilt show today and couldn't believe it; one of the vendors had your book! I grabbed it and started flipping through the pages admiring the beautiful work the two of you did. I couldn't believe that the blogger I have been following for a few years wrote a book and it was in my small part of the country! Pittsburgh, PA I wanted the vendor to say something so I could reply "I follow her blog!" but she didn't notice me drooling over your book. I would have bought it but I have told myself no more book/pattern buying. Good luck!

ReplyDeleteI wanted to share with you something that cracked me up. I received "Sunday Morning Quilts" this morning--yep, SUNDAY morning! It was actually delivered to my building this morning. (I live in Chicago and the courier they use often delivers on Sunday.)
It made me laugh and I thought it might make you laugh too. Now all I have to do is get the 4 and a half year old to give me enough time to actually look at it on Sunday morning!
