finish it up Friday, week 7

It's Friday again! Already! I hope you've had a productive week of finishing.
This week I was able to finish my daughter's abstract quilt top. I LOVE IT! She does too! I'm excited to have her pick out the backing. So far I know she wants flowers. Perfect!
I also finished hand quilting my apple cake quilt. WOO-HOO!!! I am so anxious to bind this baby and use it! It'll be a happy, happy day!
I did have a REAL finish this week too...my 36 patch quilt.

It's been a busy week, and it's so good to see progress, but I still have 14 WIP's! That's way too many! I guess I need to keep plugging away on this challenge. :) It's been good for me and I'm happy to report that I didn't start anything new this week. That's progress right there! Thanks to those of you who are joining in on this weekly challenge. It's more fun to finish with others!

How about you? Do you have a finish to share this week? Please link up to a specific post so we can see your accomplishments. Happy Friday to you!

I like what you did with your daughter's abstract quilt. Too many scraps get wasted in my house because I think they're too short/skinny to be of any use...now I know better!

Amanda, I am so glad you finished your 36-patch birthday quilt!!! I love it! Cool abstract quilt for your daughter. What a fun idea. Can't believe you are finished hand quilting your apple cake quilt! Wow, that was fast. Thanks for another weekly challenge.

You've had a busy busy week. The more I see of quilts with lots of crisp white background, the more I like them. Your daughter's quilt is fabulous. And, once again, your finish it likny party gave just the amount of push I needed to get my quilt top to a flimsy stage. Thanks for hosting.

Does getting my Christmas cards designed and printed count? If I work hard on the ride down to Alabama, I may even have them ready to mail by the end of the day. :-)

You had an outstanding week! Bravo!

So glad you are doing this linkup Amanda! It has helped to keep me motivated. I love the quilt that you and your daughter are working on--for me, the quilts that I have in mind for my kids or the ones where they had input in are the best ones!

Looks like you've had a very productive week, Amanda Jean!

I'm loving your daughter's abstact quilt. It's so pretty!

Well done with the apple cake quilt. The hand quilting really adds some extra love to the scrappy beauty of it.

Congrats on a beautiful finish to your 36 patch quilt!

I keep telling myself that I'm going to plug my sewing machine back in and have something to link up. I guess that's what happens when you have a new baby. Carpal tunnel is gone, but my cute baby wants to snuggle. :)

So many beauties! It was a good week. I especially love your daughter's quilt. She'll be walking in your footsteps shortly. :) Merry Christmas!

Three beautiful quilts, but I especially love the abstract quilt! I have the perfect floral print for the back from IKEA, but I'm hanging on to it for one of my own. Sorry! But it's great big flowers, bright colors, and huge scale so it's perfect for a back, and it would match your quilt beautifully!!

I seem to be in starting mode and not finishing mode these days - maybe next week I'll have a FIUF :)

I am SO excited that you finished your apple cake hand quilting!! Happy binding, friend.
And your daughter's abstract: way cool. It's Art Deco-esque, I think. I actually have plans for an Art Deco quilt, too, so I have to say, I like her style! :)
