Convoy of Hope is a faith-based organization with a driving passion to feed the world through children's feeding initiatives, community outreaches, disaster response and partner resourcing.
I first heard about this organization through my church. They feed millions of kids per week around the world. When I saw the videos of kids that are benefiting from the work of this organization, it was both touching and heartbreaking. I heard that they were one of the first organizations to show up in Japan to help with the recent devistation. Their work there still continues, as you can imagine.
I spent the better part of yesterday morning listing my Flea Market Fancy fabric on ebay. I've never sold a thing on ebay, so I have/had no idea if anyone will even buy it. But, I have a lot of fabric and it's just been sitting here. In the big scheme of things, it seems silly, doesn't it? I've decided to sell it, with all the proceeds going straight to Convoy of Hope. It's the least I can do. I have kids that have full tummies every night. I can't imagine it any other way.
----
a few specifics...there are 23 different listings for flea market fancy so I'm not going to link to them...but if you do a search for "flea market fancy fabric" you should find them. (My user name is crazymomquiltsaj.) edited to add: you can find all the listings here. I also listed a half yard of Heather Ross' camper vans in blue here.
I left the auctions open for 5 days, so sometime this weekend the auctions will close. (I really can't pinpoint their timing system, it makes my head hurt trying to figure it out, so that's as specific as I can get.) If you feel so inclined to bid, I sure would appreciate it.

I clicked over and it looks like things are going well already - only 2 minutes after your blog post here. I hope you get boat loads for those bellies.
I think you could use this link: http://shop.ebay.com/crazymomquiltsaj/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686 to show all the items you have listed for sale.
You rock my socks off. Your blog is sooo refreshing every time. You are so benevolent, and simple. Love that you promote the craft and charity over yourself.
YOU are a dollface!!
Xo, H
I love Flea Market Fancy. I was not quilting when it came out. I wish I had the money to spend on it. Good luck!!
It is really heartbreaking isnt it. I am grateful every day. Really I do a shout out for my gratitude. We really have so much. I wish everyone realized that.
Very touching. I think you are very kind!
So that is you selling on there? I saw your stuff!
pffft ... like no one would buy your flea market fancy!! The bidding is going nuts!!! Yippee!!!
will you ship to Canada???
A cousin of mine is linked into management over at Convoy of Hope, I sent his wife a note about this and will hopefully bring more attention to your auction (not that the fabric doesnt bring enough attention itself!) off to go check bidding!
i hope i win what i bid on!
I just recently found and began following your blog! This is so very kind of you - I just bid on a bundle of Denyse Schmidt and Heather Ross on Ebay (didn't win it) and let me tell you... what it went for could definitely fill many of those precious tummies. Best of luck with this and I'm loving your blog!
You're doing a great thing Amanda! And the obviously won't be a problem selling those fabrics on ebay.
Just in case this is of help: this is the link to your auctions:

Good Luck!
What a very nice thing to do and I think you will get lots of bids!
What a great idea, I have some FMF I've been thinking about destashing too. It's funny how we hoard stuff isn't it?
You are selling some of your treasured FMF prints? I bet those are going to sell right away. I hope so for the charity cause! Cool idea for destashing.
I hope your destash brings in lots of proceeds for all of the kids. I can't imagine what it would be like for your baby to go to bed hungry and wake up hungry and have nothing to give them. It breaks my heart. This is such a good thing you are doing.
I just wanted to tell you that I think that ebay is the BEST way to do this. I have no idea why people use etsy...
I may be a bit cranky, because etsy is so first come first served, while ebay allows the people to bid for what they want - seems more fair...& seems like the charity/seller will get the most out of the sale. Seriously, on etsy where you name the price, would you have asked $31 for a "short" fq on those gray seeds? Probably not, but I bet that you will get much more than that on ebay!
& I think that it is wonderful what you are doing! Good luck with awesome sales all around!
You are one amazing woman!
Oh yay! Another fabric shop to stalk (errr) I mean visit on eBay :)
FMF is such a hot commodity. I love the way you are donating to the cause using fabric yet not sewing a stitch. Way to go!
Amanda, I understand your pain for the little ones in Japan. My heart is breaking for everyone over there and sometimes it's really hard to figure out how we can help. I love your idea of stash busting! I don't have much of a stash to follow suit, but tomorrow and throughout the month of April, there will be a Bento Box Quilt raffle going on at my website to help those who are suffering.
Awesome generosity, Amanda Jean! And that grey seeds fabric should bring an excellent price!
Convoy of Hope is so great! My church works with many other area churches and sponsors COH to come to our community every summer. The old fair grounds is in the middle of the city so it makes it easy for the people to walk to the event. Volunteering for this event is unlike anything else. So amazing!
Amanda,
Thank you so much for telling me about connecting threads. I went to that site today and they had just what I want in batiks. I want to get my feet a little wet before I jumo in completely, but will definitely be ordering!
PS- the stuff you have on ebay is going like hot cakes!
This is so generous of you! I checked out your auctions, and you'll be making a substantial contribution. Bless you!
Amanda, I hope this is ok, I just wanted to put up a link to the Bento Box quilt raffle in case anyone wanted to help that way to. http://j-lynne.blogspot.com/2011/03/bento-box.html
