This project was my husband's brain child. Last winter I was knitting a striped hat, and he thought it would make a great skirt for our daughter. I don't know if that means I have a big head or if I have a little daughter, or both! It wasn't long before I headed to the yarn shop to pick out some yarn. What a hardship, I know, but someone had to do it. ;) Actually, having your husband dream up the projects is a great license to go to the yarn shop and spend some money without any complaint on his part. It's wonderful!
I knit like I quilt...mostly without a pattern. I wasn't sure that this would work, but hurrah! It did! And on the first shot, no less. I'm (more than) a little surprised. :) Too bad it wouldn't be cute in my size...
Happy Monday to you!

That's ADORABLE CrazyMom! And I have from personal experience that you DO dress that cute -- your shoes look like your daughter's shoes!
That is Adorable! I love it!
You're right. There are a lot of things only little girls can wear. :(
This one is super cute.
Very adorable! Love the colors!
I want her cardigan, too. We went costume shopping yesterday and I kept saying how cute the kid costumes were and how hideous the adult ones are! I'm making one up from my closet!
FINALLY! How cute. And I love, love, love her knee-highs and shoes ;-)
So cute. Now I know what to do with some of the old sweaters I was going to craft with, make skirts for my daughter!!
Very cute! Nice to see something other than all quilting once. ('Course I don't really search the knitter's blogs either. LOL)
Loving those colors together....
How did you do the waist? I've hit this crafting mood lately and all I want to do is knit and sew. And lately it's more knit than anything!
Adorable! Love it. The colours are great!
Oh, I MISS the days of being able to dress my daughters in cute things. The youngest is about to turn 11, and she's too big for stuff like that (SHE thinks).
Cute! I love the new skirt, especially with the knee socks and Mary Janes. Aw, those were the days when we could dress like that. Don't you love it when you family members suggest you could make everything, when, in theory, you probably could if you had 100 hours in a day. Abby is a great model!
That's adorable.
I've got a husband like you. as fast as I cross things off my 'To Make' list he adds things
Love and hugs Gina xxx
this is adorable...even though he is making you more work it is sweet that he has faith in you and is interested enough in your crafting to say you should do it. that is how my husband is.
soooo cute!!!
Just adorable!!! Love the sweater too!
Adorable!
Darling! I miss having a little girl around to dress.
Lovely!
Very cute. Love the colors!
So cute! I love the colors of her skirt, and it will be nice and warm. It is such fun making things for little girls to wear!
It's so cute! and I love the colors too!
Cute as can be. Bravo on nailing it on your first go! What other project ideas has your hubby come up with for you to make????
cute skirt!
Ah, you can knit and quilt?? Wow, so talented.
Fun!
The skirt is just adorable. I love the colors.
My daughters are grown so when I knit for them they want earth tones, not fun for me!!!!
This is soo cute! you and your hubby make a great team for sure. Did you use a drawstring waist? Just think when she outgrows the skirt, it can be worn as a tube top! Lol.
Very, very cute! I don't have any girls to sew/knit/crochet for. :( I do have a niece, but she's more of an Old Navy/Gap/Banana Republic kind of girl.
My husband is always coming up with ideas, too, but his are always horribly difficult and absolutely impossible to accomplish. "You know what you should do? You should make a quilt that looks like an airport, and have lights embedded in the quilt that look like a runway, and a little quilted plane with a real engine that can take off and land, and little quilted birds that get sucked up into the engines...."
Too cute! I'll bet miss A loves it and is absolutely adorable in it!
aww! That skirt is adorable! I agree with you...it's too bad things don't look that cute in grownup sizes (they're not as quick to make, either)
CUTE!!
Awww, she is darling in her little striped skirt! somehow i think you would be darling in one, too!
Very cute!!! I see so much knitting things and it makes me think that I need to learn how!! I think you could pull this skirt off!! Just put some leggings underneath and you are in fashion!!
How cute! The skirt is adorable.
Love it!!!! What a great color combination, bright and cherry for the cold winter days ahead. Good Mom!
Super super cute! And I can relate to having a husband who likes to add to my to-do list. Thankfully, this year he's actually making one of the costumes!
And my list of projects is hopeless as well. It keeps getting longer, never shorter!
I have one of those husbands!
The skirt looks lovely, well done you especially without a pattern!
I look forward to your future knitting creations :)

The skirt is super cute. I know a couple of little girls who would love one. I've never knitted with more than 1 color, I'll have to try it.
Super cute knitting. BTW, I just saw a dress at the store yesterday in the young girls section those same colors in a knit. You are so with it!
So stinking cute!!!!

Okay, seeing this totally makes me want to learn to knit. What an ADORABLE skirt! Awesome!
