giveaway

It feels like a giveaway day to me! I have one bright colorstory jelly roll to give away, compliments of Robert Kaufman. If you would like to win, let me know where you are from and what you are up to today. Here's an example for you: I'm Amanda Jean from Wisconsin. Today I'm going to start quilting my blue quilt. I have a sick boy at home (he has a cold, poor thing) and I'm listening to pandora, hoping my two little ones don't argue too much. Sounds lovely doesn't it? ;) Actually, the sun is shining, which helps immensely.

Please, one comment per person. Include your email address in case I need to contact you! I'll pick a winner sometime on Friday.

Just finished crocheted baby booties and a hat for a gift and plan to spend some time wavy-line quilting a hippo quilt for the same baby. Sporadic rain here, we've had a wet summer so NO FOREST FIRES this year, hallelujah!

I'm Becky. Right now I'm at work, but tonight I plan to finish my first ever quilt. This is, of course, a huge joke, because even with the lousy job I've done so far, and even though it is a tiny quilt and uses very large pieces of fabric, it is just unreasonable to finish a quilt in three days. Really. But I'm going to try. I "just" have the binding left.

Hello, I’m Nicolette and I live in The Hague, The Netherlands. Today we have Prinsjesdag (Day of the Princess) which means the opening of a new year of Parliament. Today I worked on a powerpoint presentation for my husband’s firm.
I hope to assemble my quilt-top for the fat quarterly quilt-along tonight and in order to get some fat burned I hung all the quiltblocks downstairs and take each row upstairs to sew them together. I have 10 rows of blocks, so I hope it helps a little!

Thanks Amandajean for a chance to win some gorgeous solids!!

Hello,
My name is Sheree and I am from California. Today I will be working on the applique section of the quilt I am making for my niece. Most likely, I will also continue to watch The X-Files while I do so. It is a little chilly here today which is perfect for doing applique work under a quilt. Maybe I will even finish the binding on another quilt!

Hi, I'm Lisa from the San Francisco bay area. I'm reading quilting blogs instead of cleaning the house. I'm looking forward to my quilting bee this afternoon and to working on my hexagon lap quilt (2" hexes) that's recently started looking like a quilt instead of a pile of hexagons. I have to part with a wonderful polka dot fat quarter - at least it's a good cause - a gift for my friend Angie. Happy birthday Ange!

Hi, I'm Sarah from Brighton in the UK. Today has been a beautiful blue sky hazy autumn sun kind of day and I have been teaching all day in a stuffy air-con broken down IT suite!

I'm now going home to try and sew the top together that I started last night but stopped when one sleeve appeared alarmingly longer than the other!

Alternatively, I might just have a little hexagon moment!

Who can say no to a giveaway, and solids at that?! :-)

I'm Liz, I'm in Massachusetts.

I had one of my two brand-new preschoolers home from school on his fourth day. Hooray for the germ factory, huh? Now, thankfully, both kids are (I think) sleeping.

Before I sit down at my sewing machine, I have to rip out the most recent strips from the round-and-round quilt-along, because I compensated IN THE WRONG DIRECTION for my seam allowance, and now it's ridiculously off. Crapola. I'm off to have fun with my seam ripper and SIXTY little seams. So sad! :-)

Hi, I´m Anja from Germany.
It was a lovely weather today with the smell of fall-soon-to-come in the air.

A shame I didn´t had much outdoorsy time today. But my longtime disregarded Frolic charmpacks called my name and sooo I had to go to cut and sew them instead of sitting in the garden after work.

Lovely giveaway, you are very generous!

So I´m off for a crafty evening with some friends (not really creative, as I was asked to re-stuff some dearly loved soft toys *sighhh*).

Love,
Anja

Hi, my name is Janet and I'm from South Dakota. I had the stomach flu over the week-end and I'm still struggling to get my stomach back to normal. I have a dental appt this afternoon, but before I can leave the house I need to bathe the dog who rolled in something outside this morning that is so very smelly I can't stand him. On the plus side I made 2 bowtie blocks this morning just the way Karen showed us how on Stash Manicure. They turned out awesome and I cut some more of my scraps into 3" blocks for some more. What a fun comment for a fun jelly roll. :)
