This past weekend I turned 35. You know how some people say that they don't feel their age? I'm not one of those people. ;) I celebrated with my sis, who also shares my birthday. No cake was involved (it's way too hot to bake) but there was LOTS of ice cream. I may or may not have had ice cream 3 times on Sunday, including my husband's favorite recipe. YUM! It was a good, good day.
In belated celebration of my official stance in the middle aged club, I'm hosting a give away. Today I have not one, but TWO roll ups to give away, compliments of Robert Kaufman fabrics. Thank you, Rob! (LOL!!!!!!!!!)

My favourite ice cream is probably vanilla with real vanilla bean. When I was a little girl I never understood how adults could love vanilla. I remember thinking that when I grew up I would never buy vanilla-boring. Now that I am 36 and so wise in my years, i realize that vanilla is the best because it goes with so many toppings etc.

It's hard to choose a "favorite" -- I love it all! But, if pressed, Haagen-Daz Vanilla Swiss Almond ties with Starbucks Java Chip Frappuccino ice cream. (don't know if you can get Starbuck's ice cream in other parts of the country, but it's in all the grocery stores here in Seattle!)

For a while now, my favorite ice cream flavor has been cherry cordial (cherry ice cream with chunks of chocolate in it) from the grocery store. However, my friend Rosa made some ice cream for our holiday festivities that was soooo good: toasted pecan praline. To die for!

Happy Birthday! I feel my age too, which is also 35. But in a good way. 35 is much better than 25!

My absolute favorite ice was a type that Baskin Robbins used to have (not sure if they do anymore since I've moved away from any close BR's). It winter white chocolate... white chocolate ice cream with pieces of chocolate covered cherries and ribbons of fudge and cherry throughout. SO YUMMY!
My favorite ice cream is Espresso Explosion. Vanilla with chocolate covered espresso beans. Yum.. But you can only eat it at 9 in the morning since it has major caffeine.
For later in the day I like Moose Tracks or Cookie Dough.

There was ONE memorable batch of ice cream my hubby and I made years ago, it was chocolate, but instead of using chocolate chips or baking chocolate, I used a bag of chocolate mint truffles. It was so incredibly yummy! It was so rich it never froze - it stayed the consistency of soft-serve.

Happy Birthday!!! I love ice cream too! My favorite kind is Mint chip. I even like making ice cream cakes. Very easy and fun. The only problem is that my 10 year old daughter doesn't like ice cream! Ahhhhh!!! Isn't that the craziest thing ever!! Who doesn't like ice cream?
I love 'Moose Tracks'. It's vanilla with a chocolate swirl and tiny peanut butter cups.

Phew, it is a good thing that you are no where near as old as the number of commnets you get...me- o -my. So you and your sister with the same birthday are 35, how lovely...But I beg to differ with you, you are not middle age. You have only hit middle age if are thinking of bundling off at age 70.

now about ice cream. I have never had coffee ice cream with brownie in it. You would be talking a real brownie, home made, real chocolately? Sounds like you could be a bad influence. Do I have to pick a favorite? Okay, homemade blueberry...big ripe sweet blueberries.
I checked out "promise to process"...very cool idea. I am not doing a lot of sewing ( compared to the sewing I see going on on the blogs, but I like the idea of applying the process to all of the sharing that goes on in blogs.
In fact, I think that is what I inadvertently did in my last post thinking about blogs... a meta blog moment. Anyway...many happy returns. Aw, you mean all those years ago when I was telling my (younger than me by 1 year and 2 days) brother-in-law that "middle-age strikes this year...but I'm not middle-aged" I might have been wrong? Happy Birthday! I really like vanilla, just because you can do anything you want with it. Sometimes I just add the syrup from cherries and maybe walnuts. Anything goes with vanilla. Of course, I did recently try an Amaretto Almond ice cream that was pretty good.
Oh, HAS to be chocolate almond but hard to find in my small town. Don't need it anyway, I guess!
Hi! My long time favourite has been chocolate with big yummy peanut butter ripple though it and little chocolate peanut butter cups. I have just seen a recipe for vanilla mixed with homemade sponge toffee though and after I try that I might have a new fav!

I love chocolate chip ice cream, but really my favorite thing is frozen yogurt. I love the tangy sweet flavor of any fruit flavored frozen yogurt.
