Love this! it turned out so well! I saw another red and white quilt the other day that just screamed to be a Christmas quilt! Ah, Maybe next year! Hope all is well and you guys are staying cozy under all of those quilts! the end is not yet in site for finishing my gift projects--only a week to go and here I am wasting time! So typical!

Stunning! Do you prewash? I don't, and I ask because the only time I ever made a quilt with a lot of red in it, it bled like a stuck pig and now all the other fabrics are kinda orangey...Yikes! I have been collecting reds for a red and white quilt "someday", but wonder if I should prewash them.

sclangs said...

That is really cute! Now I want one! Another project to put on the wishlist.

Caroline said...

OH, I LOVE it! How cute! If I weren't working like a mad woman on another quilt I'd grab all the red and white tones out of my stash and whip one together myself! That is adorable!

beth said...

Very Nice! Is it a gift? Wrap it around a tube with a cute bow!

Leigh said...

Oh that is SO cute!!! If I didn't have a mountain of Christmas gifts to finish I'd be digging through my red scraps right now!

Love the quilt! Does this move you closer to your goal of finishing up your wips? (This WAS already on your list, yes?!!! LOL!)

carol said...

I wanna know how you can keep producing stuff when everyone else is so busy with Christmas that most of us can't get near a sewing machine, let alone sew for ourselves now?? Do you have elves helping you??? I'm thinking...YES!!!

I love your quilt? Is there going to be a tutorial for it? I would love to make one for the Christmas season (next year of course) but I could also see this style in blues and greens!!

rarabecca said...

I'm not a quilter and I want one!! I think this would make a great duvet.

Aimee said...

Really cool! I love the setting - very original!

Lynne said...

I love it too! Wonderful!

Jennifer Blosser said...

It is sweet! I'd border it with a 1" green border and then find some candy can print fabric for an outer border. Throw anything on the back and bind it with a red & white polka dot and it's done!

You'll love it once you quilt it up - I always do!

What a difference an angle makes.

Dandelion Quilts said...

You are always so clever...

Margaret T. Zenk said...

just how do you do it? Are your kids self-sufficient or do you have them working in a sweat shop in your basement? I would rather sew/quilt than feed my family or clean my house, but eventually they'd notice there wasn't food or toilet paper. Your productivity is awesome. Tutorial please...we can do this for Valentine's Day.

Is that a "holy cow I love this quilt" eeeek or a "holy cow this is hideous" eeeek? I agree with everybody else that it's great. Love the reds. Melissa in Memphis

Jill said...

I really love this, I was noticing today a large lack of red in my stash. I think I will make a resolution to remedy that.

Ida13 said...

I love it too. Will not it deformated during the quilting? I knoww, it is a beginner question.

that looks yummy. I've tried your zigzag tutorial but I need more practice to get the dimension correct.

Did you just add to your list? That looks like a new start, not a finishing up of an old WIP. = ) Believe me, I am not throwing stones, however, because I live in a completely glass house. Looks great. I love red and white quilts.
