I can only imagine the time it took to piece together those selvages, but you are right the end product was totally worth it. LOVE it! -Suzanne JustAnotherHangUp.blogspot.com
I love it ! So that is what we do with our selvages that we save. You are having a productive week, Amanda Jean. I wanted you to know that I mailed your surprize thank you gift today. The mail person said it would get to you Friday. I will give you a hint. (think dots). Bonita from Northeast FL
Amandajean, I thought you were the most prolific quiltmaker ever - but now it seems you are just as prolific with your small projects. Obviously, I love the bag!!! Hope you are having a fun week.
That bag is divine! I've been saving my selvedges to make something with too (hopefully soon). Any chance of you having a selvedge sewing tutorial on the blog? Thanks for all the inspiration this week!
I recognize that inside fabric! It's from Joann's! I used it for the outside of a bag then saw Kristin Chenowith's character on Pushing Daisies with an arm sling made out of the same fabric! But back to your bag - that selvage is awesome!
Dear Amandajean ! You are sooo creative. I came across your blog just like that and its so nicey put together. You seem to have so much to do with your time. Great ! :). I want to start quilting too. Here in India, its not much of a craze and making quilts out of scraps of cloth is like a 'lowly' thing to do. Here, you do that when you can't afford to buy one from the market. Anyway, I am planning to make mine out of Jaipur and Ahmedabad block printed cotton. Will post pictures when I'm done. Thanks agan for inspiring me :))
I live in Cranston, RI and the Cranston Printworks selvage in the middle of your bag is right around the corner from my in-laws. It's a small world......Love your work - you are a great inspiration. MichelleV
Oh, my gosh! So cute. Really, I had my doubts as I was waiting for the page to load (yes, still on dial-up here). Do I always say that? I'm a natural skeptic, I suppose. But, I. Love. It. Seriously.
And okay. The word verification "word" is deendog. It's making me giggle. = )
I am absolutely loving your small projects series...each project is SO inspiring and has gotten my little self into the sewing room...thanks! --Vicki K.
This selvage bag is too cute!! I wish I had thought of that!! As I was making a quilt for my best friend who had cancer, I happened to look at the selvage and one of the fabrics said "True Friends" and one said "Best Friends." I couldn't believe it! I still have the selvage edges. Your site is so much fun! Keep up the good fun!
