summer sewing

My daughter's little friend turned 2 a few weeks ago and tomorrow is the birthday party.
I'm sewing matching outfits for my daughter and her friend.

My daughter is getting very used to modeling for me. :)
I've found that props help a ton.

See the little shorts peeking out beneath?
I opted for those rather than bloomers.
The shorts pattern is Butterick B4966, in size one.
The dress pattern is my own, enlarged just a little bit.

So even though summer is still a long way off, we'll be ready (and waiting) for it to arrive.

the shorts underneath are perfect--once the girls grow taller, they'll still be able to wear the dress (as a shirt) and have shorts to match! :)

Your daughter is just too cute in the outfit.
I would like to start making clothes for myself.
I am thinking on using clothes I have and like as the patterns.

That's funny that you'd post this today. I just finished making a dress for my baby inspired by your patchwork dress. I will be posting pictures of it soon; may I link your tutorial?

Officially the cutest idea ever. I would have been over the moon when I was little to have matching outfits with my best friend. And your daughter looks so sweet. I hope we get to see the two of them model as a pair.

Oh my gosh, that puppy is so cute! LOL!
Just kidding. You know, I had to go back a second time to look at the clothing, because the model is just so adorable.

Summer is a while off, but making clothing like this sure helps beat the cold winters!

this is such an adorable dress! It's too bad it probably wouldn't look good on me in a grown up size...this looks like such a comfy and perfect sundress.

I have just had the most enjoyable time viewing and reading your blog. I am beginning my first ever patchwork quilt and am very apprehensive. Was inspired by my mother who began it recently as well. Your blog is just truly amazing. I do love the dress you made here, the colours are gorgeous. Will look forward to viewing more of your wonderful quilts.
