Pink Penguin has a wonderful tutorial for a fabric and linen basket
here. Isn't it the cutest?
I sewed this little one up this morning. It's a fun and easy project that uses small scraps-just 2" cut. That's my kind of project! I'm afraid to tell you that these are addictive, too. I am thinking about making one in each color to hold my smaller fabric scraps. Color coded little scrap baskets....how fun would that be?
Oh, and these would make a great gift, too. That is if you could part with it.

oh my god
your blog is fantastic
there r now a list of projects to add to my already long list of thigs to do from here!!!!
Well I like the little bucket and am thinking some of those at house could be useful. I was thinking I might use it to collect all the scraps which I am cutting for a scrappy quilt then when the basket gets full I could start sewing? Fantanstic idea, hope my sewing machine enjoys the rest while I am away this week as I can see it being quite busy when I get back!
thanks for the link
this is super cute
and it was super quick too
mine is on my blog
I made one of these!! I have been loving all your idea and want to try them all...I had just finished a fall wallhanging and had some fabric left. The fabric basic is just tooooo cute...I just have no idea what to put in thise one. I think I am going to be doing these for christmas gifts.
I'd love to hear ideas from ppl for what they plan on using them for.
Thanks again...Jillian : )
A basket for color coded fabric scraps????!!!!!!!!!!! Love THAT!! I've made many of these but I didn't think i could make even MORE for such a grand purpose!! Brilliant!
Hmm, why am I envisioning these stuffed with cookies?
Love your basket. I was so inspired I made one this weekend for a friend's birthday. Filled it with goodies from Bath and Body works, and it was great. I accidently made my squares 2.5 inches instead of 2, so I had to adjust the pattern to accomodate my larger patchwork area, but it still turned out great. It will be posted on my blog tomorrow if you want to take a peak.
Something like this, but on a larger scale, could be so cute for storage in a bathroom... for holding rolls of toilet paper, stacks of towels, a little one for cotton balls... what a great project.
I love it! This is perfect for organizing my daughters miniature toys. I will definitely have to make several of these.
you said you are thinking of making them to hold scraps? how big are they? or rather how tall???
they look so small - maybe b/c of the close up.
they are so cute. ;) love your greens :) ~bonnie
Different colored baskets to sort scraps into -- that's got to be the best idea I've heard all day!
