Awhile back my dear
Amy Jo and I had a moment of weakness and purchased a fat quarter stack of
katie jump rope fabric. we bought both color ways and split them so we each have a fat eight of every single fabric in the line. (It is gorgeous!) It's been sitting around for a few months already and I have been racking my brain for the perfect quilt pattern for those fabrics. Any suggestions?

Check out Barbara Brandeburg's blog (http://barbarabrandeburg.typepad.com/). She just posted her patterns today and I think the Katie Jump rope would be cute for her Granny Squares pattern. I have been eying that pattern myself for some of my Denise Schmidt stash. I think it calls for fat quarters but you probably have enough since you have all of it to just make it even more colorful and fun!
No suggestions. But... I am drooling. Seriously awesome fabric!
(PS can you point me in the direction of a striped quilt tutorial? I just might give it a go.)
I would love to see a picture of your fabric. It sounds cute.
Thanks for visiting my blog and your sweet comments about my future linen closet.

Don't you hate that!?! I have a huge stack of American Jane's Look & Learn and don't even know where to start!
I did make a cute journal cover with my Katie Jump Rope yardage. Beautifl line!
I bought the complete Moda fat quarter collection Summer in the City and I‘m pondering on what quilt to make for quite some time now. I think the Granny’s pattern from Barbara will be a good one. I don’t know if you have the book by Denyse Schimidt ‘Quilts’, she made some wonderful patterns herself (http://www.dsquilts.com/)
You could probably do a bento box quilt with white, like this one from swim notes. I love how it gives a kind of lozenge effect from afar.
I'm not a quilter so I don't have any suggestions, but I'm jealous as heck that you have that fabric, it's amazing!!! :)
Last night I actually saw a quilt made from those fabrics and white in the granny squares quilt pattern that Kim was talking about in the first post. I just tried looking for the link but couldn't find it, but it looked really good! It made me want to buy the fabric so I could make it. :)
I don't have any suggestions, but I'm sure whatever you do with them will be stunning!
Well, I have no suggestions as I have no experience with quilting :( But I am sure you will think of something :)
I know it is blatant copying, but on Flickr I saw a blue/green bento box with white...
I dreamt about what I would do in your situation - the ideas have left the brain....
I know I could use some red for a seriously scrappy red quilt that I have planned. (Hopefully someone will be selling it still when I get to Houston in a couple weeks.)
do you read 'material obsession' the blog of a quilt store in australia? they just made something sooooo cute out of jump rope. hold on, i'll go get a link...
it's in this post
Hey good idea - asking out here. I've been looking at that stash, too - wondering what to do!! I hope you (we) get some ideas!:-)
Okay...
Fat quarters are perfect for BuggyBarn quilts...
Here is a fun heart pattern. I think I have this pattern too. I can loan it to you if you like. It would show off those fats so well. These patterns are so fun too. Just stack the fats so they are arranged by contrasting the colors. Cut the pieces. Restack the fabric and sew.

I don't have any ideas, but I am jealous you that you have every single piece of fabric from that line! :) I can't wait to see what you end up doing with it.
Hey Amanada! I work at a LQS and talked the owner into buying that collection. When it came in she let me make the shop sample. I made "American Pie" by Miss Rosie. I used the full collection and Kona white. It ended up with a funky vintage look. When it's done at the shop I'm going to hand quilt it. Good Luck and Enjoy your fabric! Libby
No ideas. Just drooling over the fact that you have ALL the fabrics.
We have a fun pattern that uses the whole range at Material Obsession. Email us at materialobsession@ozemail.com.au and I'll send you a photo of the quilt. The line is great for repeat blocks like pinwheels, nine patch...simple structure with a bit of white...have fun. kathy
