patchwork obsession: part 18
I finished this quilt sometime last week, and I have been waiting for some decent weather to do an outside photo shoot for this one, but that seems a little hopeless. It's been raining constantly.
My husband bought me a fat quarter stack of Moda fabrics about 5 years ago for my birthday. I finally got it into quilt form. (woo-hoo!) I changed my mind about 100 times before I got it to this point. And usually I am a decisive quilter. I am decisive about nothing else, mind you.
The quilt is approximately 83" x 90" (queen size).
Each square is 2.5".
There are 52 different fabrics in this quilt.
The pieced backing is all from my stash, as is the binding.
The machine quilting was done on my Juki.
It's good to have this baby done.
Although, I have to say, if it hadn't taken me this long to make it, the quilting on it wouldn't be nearly as good. So hurray for delayed projects.
Nancy, if you are reading, don't you think that this one deserves a comment? ;)

Hoosh??? I'm trying to think of a word that describes that sensation when you see something beautiful and suck in air, but I can't come up with it. Anyway, that's what I did when I saw that first picture. I love this quilt -- simple squares, beautiful fabric, oh, so pretty! Very Well Done!!!
It is just lovely! Your work just rocks and I love the pieced backing. I usually go get the really wide muslin so I don't have to piece, but I think you've swayed me! You just keep turning projects out and I seem to be stalling this week!
Oh my goodness!! That is so beautiful and so big!!! And the squares match perfectly!!! If I tried something like that it would be at total mess!
I love it!
This is amazing! I am in awe of how you managed to gets the corners of all those squares perfectly aligned.
Queen size? Wow, girl! And so many teeny tiny squares.
it's lovely. so beautiful.
Great job on the stippling too! I wish I could keep my stitch length that even. Any words of advice?
This is a great quilt! Not familiar with Jukis - just a regular household machine? Nervous about doing anything big on mine at home... Congrats!
Ohh my, what a beautiful quilt, you should be so pleased with yourself...and I love, love, love the backing..so simple but it really has wow factor!!
You made a great quilt - it looks so cozy!

This quilt does deserve a comment--HURRAH!!
it's a beauty! well done!
Beautiful! I love how you pieced the back. It gives it a lot of personality. (I've only used one fabric for the back and it seems boring now!)
That is absolutely GORGEOUS!! You are amazing!!
stunning lady, stunning. i have to ask, how do you do the squiggly quilting without a long arm?
The alignment is perfection (which I've come to expect from your projects, but it's still amazing to see). And what a great husband you've got, picking up that fabric for you!
Yay for the finished Moda quilt! I remember you showing me these fabrics when you first got them! LOL! It looks awesome!
It's awesomely gorgeous. You did a great job- I am in awe of how perfect your quilts are! Keep sharing them, please...I have a fat quarter Moda set and I'm afraid to cut into it because it's so pretty bundled up.
I love your blog and love this quilt. It brings back so many memories of fabrics I have sen along the way. Well done.

It's lovely. You are still so awe-inspire-ingly productive!
Wow, such a lovely quilt!
it is beautiful. i'm a perpetrator of the "delayed" projects and i love how they always turn out better for the delay! bravo.
Wow...I love this quilt! Being farely new to quilting, were you able to srip piece some of it or did you cut all 2.5" squares?
Oh my! That is beautiful! I love the fabrics.
I can't believe how even all the squares are. Amazing.
