mail

I've been getting some lovely mail. I am still laughing at Linda's comment from the last time I posted about mail.

I won Chara Michele's 200th post giveaway and here is what she sent me.

Headbands (it turns out I do have enough hair to wear these, yay!) book marks, tags and some of her cards. Thanks, Chara, for the great package. :)

Roxanne and I planned a little fabric swap shortly after we both hit the fabric jackpot.
And she also included this fun pincushion.

I can't wait to use those scraps! And the pincushion is already in use.
Thanks, Roxy.

I have my own parcels to send, but I often have a hard time finding a box to send it in. I got this fantastic idea from Roxanne...turn your box inside out. Unfold it along the seams, flip it around, tape it back together and...

Viola! You have a box that is ready to ship that needs no wrapping.
Why didn't I think of that?

Another idea for using what you have. (or in my case using what Hjordi had.) Thanks to all of you who left comments on my last post on this subject. It was fun to get some new ideas.

Today my daughter has pigtails in her hair for the very first time and she looks like little Cindy Lou Who. It cracks me up.

Hope you are having a great Monday!

Cindy Lou Who! How great...I toyed with the idea of having my little one be her for Halloween, but I got way too many "Who is that"...can you even believe that!??! I couldn't!
Thanks for the lovley comment on my blog!

That package from Chara is great, and so is that fabric and pin cushion!!! I like your idea of turning a box inside out, I'll have to remember that!

I love the box trick. I figured it out last Christmas when I was trying to send packages to family. I used my hot glue gun to put the seams back together. I think it held really well.

I'll bet Abby is absolutely adorable in pigtails! I wondered if she had enough hair yet for the ponytail holders from a couple of posts ago. :)

Ugh, why didn't I think of the box trick? I spent an hour wrapping a Huggies box to send a swap in. I'll have to remember it for next time!

you lucky girl!! what great swaps!

Ah you lucky woman, her finds were awesome-- I loved those quilted pieces, did she send you any?
Great idea on the box transformation. I've been resorting to garbage picking for boxes off the curb on trash days. Can't wait until my 2 girls are old enough to be humiliated by this behavior!!

I am so glad you liked the package from me and glad that your hair is long enough for the headbands:)

That pincushion is adorable and what a great tip about boxes! Definitely going to have to use this:)

I have turned a chip bag inside out, washed it and you get a shiny bag that will end up in the trash any way. My relatives think I'm nuts but at least they are getting a present.

How fun to get such good mail. You are pretty fortunate to get so much. Do you know that October is stamp collecting month or something like that?
