good neighbors fabric giveaway

It's been one year since my good neighbors fabric was released. That may be a silly thing to celebrate, but I, for one, am excited that it is still available in both yardage and pre-cuts. I have enjoyed seeing how others have used the fabric. I also enjoyed working it into all kinds of projects...from quilt backings to pincushions. To celebrate, I'm going to give away two bundles of good neighbors fabric...one in a warm colorway, one in a cool colorway. The giveaway is open to all. International entries are welcome with the stipulation that you will be willing to cover shipping costs, should you win a bundle. If you would like to throw your name into the hat, please leave me a comment in this post. In your comment, I would like to know if you tend to gravitate toward warm colors or cool colors when you are making projects and also where you are from. If you have made something with good neighbors fabric, I'd love to hear about that, too. :) I will pick a winner in a few days!

This line is really pretty! I'm a relatively new quilter, so my stash isn't really a stash yet. I tend to gravitate more towards cool colors -- I love a calm, serene bedroom, so I tend to make my quilts in those colors, too!

What a wonderful way to celebrate your fabrics. I must admit I have not seen them but I am also new to patchwork having made my first quilt this year. The quilt I made was in warm colours but I am more into cool colours as I love blues, but I will mix and match. I am from 'down under' Australia, in fact a small country town in Western Australia.

I think I'd tend more toward cool colors. I am from Ohio and really missed your blogging in August! I would be doing my blog hops and go to yours and always forget you were on break! Welcome back!

I'm Moriah from North Carolina. I am a cool colors all the way person when it comes to making quilts (and the clothes I wear, and how I decorate my house, etc). My neighbor, Celeste, and I belonged to a quilting group together one summer and had a lot of fun. When my baby came a month early, Celeste helped my husband set up our home for the baby and bought some necessities we needed. To thank her I bought her a "layer cake" stack of Good Neighbor squares and some coordinating threads from Connecting Threads to thank for for the good (great!) neighbor she is.

I'm a cool kind of girl but I love all the fabric in your collection. I have used some for doll clothes that really turned out cute. Thanks for the chance to win!

I tend to be drawn to the cooler colors. I am trying to step out of my comfort zone and though, so I am trying to use more warm colors!

Hi from Placerville, California! I love all colors but I think I gravitate towards warm...love those reds and oranges!

Jasmine said...

I am so happy that your fabric line is still available. I was reading through some of your older posts and even checked last week to see if I could still purchase some for some bags. I think I gravitate more towards the cool colors, but I love pink and red and splashes of yellow. I am even liking orange more now because it is my youngest son's favorite color here in Utah. Thanks for all your inspiration.

I love these fabrics! I am from Ohio and although I love all colors, I find myself gravitating toward cool colors lately. I have a healthy stash of warm colors because that used to be my go-to fabric, but I guess it's been about two years now that I've gone to the light and fun side. :-) Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

Thanks for a chance to win! I've been a fan of your blog for a long time, love the scrappy quilts. I find that my fabric choices change, but I have been on a more modern kick lately, which tends to be more cool than warm for me.

Both colorways are drawing me in, but truth be told, I am leaning more toward the warm colors. I live in Washington state, which probably explains the warm color trend.
I have not had the pleasure to work with your fabric yet, though I am looking forward to it!

I just love color! Warm, cool, bright, pastel, even neutrals. And I love your Good Neighbors fabric--I splurged on a bundle when Connecting Threads had a nice sale, and I'm saving that one for a quilt for myself. But could always use more to play with now! I live in central California.

I gravitate towards warm colours. However when I quilt I select colours and patterns that suit the recipient - their style, personality, colour preferences. Which means my stash of remnants don't coordinate, even in a random manner.
One of your Good Neighbors fabric bundles would be perfect to start a stash. Thank you for offering the giveaway.

I'm so glad this collection is still available. Warm colors? Cool? Bring them both on. I'm fickle like that. From up here in Coon Rapids. (Next trip to SR Harris, stop at the new HyVee in Brooklyn Park.)

I love colors, saturated colors, and both warm and cool palettes. I'm making my sister's quilt in purples (her fave), teals, blues, greens with the Dance of the Dragonfly fabrics. Love this palette. I also am making my niece a quilt in fuchsias, oranges, yellows, pinks and I love this colorway too.

I am from Missouri and am enjoying a day or two of cooler temps in between the really hot days. I haven't made anything with Good Neighbors fabric line yet but saw it at Connecting Threads. I was tempted but I'm trying to buy per project only for a bit.

I always gravitate towards cool colours - but this actually means I would prefer to win the warm bundle, as my stash has more than enough blues and greys, but hardly any green and yellow. I am in Auckland, New Zealand - which means the postage I will pay is high - but still cheaper than buying quilting fabrics here which are normally $28 NZD per metre - approx $20USD!

I love the warm colorway best. Maybe because I was a summer baby. I have a little bit of good neighbors that is scattered among a couple of quilts. The pink with Vs on it is in a baby quilt I made for my first granddaughter. My favorite though is the extra wide backing I bought of the multi colored print that I used to back a quilt. It is like having two quilts in one.

Final color mix will be "Florida brighter" than an "old" quilt look, but so looking forward to the end result.

I like both warm and cool, but lately I am on a purple and green binge. I've purchased a Connecting threads kit (forgot the name) and plan to use the leftovers in a log cabin quilt.
Congrats on the line being available after a year.

Lately I have been drawn to the warm, bright colors. I love your fabric!

I think your fabric line is classic and will likely stick around for a while yet. Although I love pinks I normally gravitate to the cool colours, especially the greens. I am in Ontario Canada.

I hope you had a wonderful break! I'm in Australia. I like both warm and cool colours, though I particularly like using orange in my quilts, so I'll say warm colours just edges out cool colours (at the moment, anyway!). I love your fabric range. I hope you have the opportunity to design another.

I really like cool colors but if I'm sewing for others I can make myself use warm. I live in WI :)

I tend to use cooler colors more than warmer colors, but the whole line is beautiful and if I won, I would not be afraid to use either. I am from Ohio and thank you for the opportunity to enter.

I think I'm drawn to cool colors as I use a lot of blues and greens. But I absolutely love oranges and reds. I'm from Atlanta GA. Thanks for always providing wonderful inspiration.

I am from Alberta, Canada. Fall is in the air now, but I tend to like the cooler blues and greens for my projects. I do love all the patterns in your collection. It would be fantastic to win a bundle.

I love cool colors the most, but I find that I enjoy striking a balance in a quilted rainbow. I have an idea in mind for this fabric already, rainbow, naturally. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

Those fabrics are beyond beautiful! I am drawn to fabrics that are cooler in colour, although pattern tends to dictate the nature of my project and give me inspiration! I live in Ontario, Canada. Thanks for the super amazing giveaway opportunity!

I'm definitely most happy in the blue/green range of colors. I'm from Germany, so I haven't actually seen anything of your line in my local fabric stores.

Happy Fabricversary!!! I love all colors but gravitate towards the cooler ones! I live in Cypress, Texas - on the NW side of Houston! I do have a Good Neighbors charm pack and will use it someday!!!!

My eye went directly to the cool tones, but have to say I love them all! Thanks for the chance to win!

You are always so generous with giveaways! I have been I. A hot color kick lately. Maybe it's because it summer, or it is just so cheerful? Not sure, but I do know I am enjoying it! Love following your blog.

I love it when a fabric line is around for awhile, it gives me time to think about what to use it for, and I'm on a limited budget so have to pace myself . I love the warm color as fall is my favorite time of year . I live in the southwestern part of New Mexico . I've only been quilting for 65 yrs or so, learned from Great grandmothers, Grandmothers and my Mother . I will always cherish the time spent learning from them .

Love those fabrics. Congrats on their first birthday! Thanks for the giveaway chance. I have more warm colors than cool. I made some scrap vortex blocks from
my sister's cool color stash and they didn't work in my vortex at all.
I'm from Newfoundland, Canada, but live in Tennessee now. refusestofear at yahoo dot com

I enjoy warm colors. I'm presently live in Florida, where "warm" attracts visitors from all over! I'm originally from Michigan. Thank you for the give-a-way opportunity!

I don't have a lot of new fabric as I mostly buy from charity/thrift shops and orange is a colour I would love to have to play around with. Thanks for the chance to win some warm 'new' fabrics ~ I live in England :)

Blue has always been my favorite color so definitely cool colors. Your soft greys look very soothing. I enjoy your blog from Maryland.

I defintiely tend toward cool colors. But it seems I'm always wanting to stick some red in everything, too. Apparently I really like all the colors. I think that's why I love scrap quilts so much! : )

Hello! I'm definitely drawn to cooler colours!
I love that you've made this open to international entries, I'm so tempted to enter other comps and tell people I'll cover the postage - Australia is a long long way away from anywhere!

I always thought I was a warm colors girl until I sorted my stash by color. I tend to gravitate towards the cool in actuality. I really just love all colors.

I tend to gravitate towards cool colors here in IL. But I have and love all colors and it totally depends on the project at hand.....that, and if I can actually get it at my LQS in this small area we live in.😉 I love to win this and would implement it in quilts, minis and even bags! Such a beautiful assortment! Glad your line is still in service! It gets frustrating when you search, and things are sold out and no longer available.

I tend to move between warm and cool color projects and I've noticed a pattern that goes along with the seasons. Pretty fabrics and I have a piece or two.

I love color and would have to say that I like the warm colors best. However, blue is my favorite color!! I'm from MO.

I'm definitely a cool color aficionado. Living in St Paul, MN with our frigid winter weather doesn't discourage me from using them either. I've been enjoying your posts for quite a while. You inspire me.

Crazy Mom ,
I started quilting again 6 months ago after a 15 year break, and wow was I surprised ! So many more gorgeous fabrics to pick from , yours included ! I used to be a warm color person , but now with my refreshed view of the modern quilt movement , and just a new freedom in quilting , cool colors speak to me in a way that never did before , oh, Amd I'm from Florida , so I think I'm just hot all the time 😀😀
I love seeing your blog in my mailbox ... It perks up my day !
Thanks !

I am definitely drawn to cooler colors. I love bright pops of color. I used 4 of your charm packs to create a quilt for our 5th Grade Teacher at the end of the year. I asked all of the kids to write her a message and to sign their name. She chose to retire from teaching at the end of last year and she will be sadly missed by all future fifth grade parents! I am from Olathe, KS. Thank you for offering these bundles!

I tend toward cooler tones as we live on the North Carolina coast. Cooler tones help offset our warmer weather.....at least in my mind! LOL! Thank you so much for the opportunity to win some of your beautiful fabrics.

I like both and use both. I am drawn to brighter fabrics now that they are easier to find. When I started quilting there wasn't much other than calicos. I enjoy all your scrap projects.

Kate said...

Your line is so gorgeous! Thanks for the chance to enter <3
I tent to gravitate towards cool colours, but I love nothing more than representing both in the one project :)

I lean towards warmer colours most of the time but find that once spring is approaching I start looking for something light and bright to work on here in Orono, Ontario, Canada.

Unknown said...

To be honest, it depends on the day. Some days warm, some cool. I haven't used this colection yet but would love to make a quilt out of it. Thank you!

These fabric colors are so vivid & bright-just fantastic! I do tend to work in the cooler colors in fabric, probably because I live in south Mississippi where temps this year are still in the 90's. Working with cooler colors make me feel better!
