honey cowl

Welcome to finish it up Friday!
I'm very excited that I finished knitting a honey cowl this week! (There is a free pattern here if you care to make one of your own.) I used 2 skeins of luscious Madelinetosh yarn that I bought at Home Ec Workshop last summer when we were passing through Iowa City. I usually knit socks on size 2 needles, so knitting a project on size 8 needles was a delight! This is the kind of project I would usually finish in July rather than January. So, hurray for a warm, toasty neck and a timely finish! :)

I'd highly recommend the pattern! I've already cast on another one in a yummy aqua color.

Now it's your turn! Please link up your finishes for the week. Thank you for joining me for finish it up Friday!

  12. I made this using one skein of MadTosh with size 4 needles. Of course it was smaller but I like it that way because it fits nice and tight. But seeing yours I want to make another.

  22. I just printed out the same pattern! I have two skeins of yarn I was going to use for a shawl and decided to use it for the cowl instead.

  23. What size did you make yours?

  24. I know exactly what you mean by the size 8s. I am doing a lush sampler cowl in cashmerino (also a free pattern) and it is on size 8s. Compared to my usual socks or fingerless gloves on 1s and 2s, I am flying through this! Cute pattern and lovely finish.

  30. Check out the Knitting Shoppe on Muscatine in Iowa City the next time you go through - lovely selection there also - more modern than the name indicates.
