Work In Progress Bag pattern

Someday I am going to write a blog post about how hard pattern writing is. Today, I am going to celebrate the fact that I finished another one! The Work In Progress bag pattern is complete (YAY!!!) and it is available for purchase here. Phew!
I was inspired to make these bags after seeing a few different WIP bags around, coupled with the fact that I needed a decent way to keep my collection of 22 WIPs organized. The design for the bag is my own and it is something that I worked out through a lot of trial and error. (It took me 5 tries just to get the zipper install worked out!) I'm very pleased with the results and I LOVE how uniform my WIPs are now. Vinyl isn't scary to use at all, and I love that you can easily view the contents without opening the bag.
I've included instructions for an alternate zipper placement--toward one end rather than through the center--if that suits your tastes. (I think this bag might be my favorite!)
I've made 17 of these babies so far! I may have been a little zealous in my pattern development. Hahaha! Only a few more to go and all my WIPs will have their own bag. But, at this point, I think it's time to finish a few quilts! I MAY have had my fill of zippers for the time being. Can you imagine?

To celebrate the release of the pattern, I will be giving away 3 copies of the PDF pattern. If you would like a chance to win, please leave me a comment in this post. In your comment, I would like to hear about how many WIPs you have. (I know, that's kind of like asking a woman her age, but it's the subject of the day, so I kind of feel justified!) :) I'll pick the winners in a few days.

Edited to add: the giveaway is now closed. Thanks to all of you who entered!

About 3 actual WIP but I don't like to have too many on the go at once. However I have about 10 more ready to go with patterns and fabric in plastic bags. And I have about 30 more in my head - but that doesn't count does it? jennylarking@gmail.com

Gina said...

It looks like a great pattern! I have 4 WIPS and a list longer than my arm of things I want to make as I finish things up. I need to finish things as I start them otherwise I am afraid I would never go back and finish things up.

V Hair said...

I think I have about 10 UFOs on the go but I might be forgetting a few! These WIP bags would be perfect!

Anita said...

Love your bags! I have lots of WIPs, do kits that haven't been cut count? I have to say at least 15, from small bags to lap quilts. Thanks for the giveaway:)

Laikabear said...

I have 3 WIPs currently - an Ocean Waves quilt that is at the basting stage, a flannel and minky quilt that didn't turn out like I envisioned and has been in time out for almost a year, and a set of placemats I need to finish hand-sewing the binding onto. Usually that's my favorite part but I am stalled. Thanks for the chance to win - I love the vinyl bags!

deebriese said...

I only have three, it makes me nuts to have anymore than that! This is such a great idea

SewLittleToSay said...

I currently have three works in progress on the go where stitching has started. I dread to think how many works in progress I have where I've only got as far as buying fabric :-)

Tina Short said...

I love these, I'm using the heavy poly bags that sheets and pillowcases come in but they do split after a while. Yours are so much nicer!

Unknown said...

I feel a little inadequate with my number of WIP's compared to your other commenters, however I am going to bravely lift my chin and say that I currently have 5.

Jenny said...

How many? About 30 or so, but I'm much too scared to count them!
What if the total is way higher that that? I'd rather not know!!!

Unknown said...

Your WIP bags are really cool!!! I love it!
I have 8 WIPs....

Jessica said...

I think I have 6 WIPs but I think these bags would be just as great for holding all the bits and pieces for my EPP or as makeup bags/brush bags or for storing jewellery, I just want to be able to see inside them all!

Joy said...

OOh I just love these, I have always got different projects on the go and have to open bags to see what's inside. With thes lovelies I will be able to see at a glance and they are so attractive. One question, type of vinyl please? I live in UK and not sire what to get. thanks xx

Patti said...

I have at least 30-something newer WIP's (those started in the last 5 years) but I have no idea how many are lurking in the storage tubs in the basement! I love this pattern and have been anxiously awaiting it's debut! Thanks for this sweet pattern!

Crafty Tokyo Mama said...

Thank you for taking the time to write up your pattern. Just today, I was thinking I needed an especially large folder to store my finished quilt blocks in. Not having anything suitable on hand, I just set the blocks on a shelf for now. One of these bags would be perfect because I could customize the size to fit the blocks. This is such a great idea! I only have one WIP, but it will take most of the year to finish.

Tricia said...

I have 6 WIPs at the moment. Trying not to start to many things or I just feel snowed under. I love your bags and feel they would be great for many purposes. I'm thinking of my 4 year old granddaughter here- pencils, crayons, crafts bits and pieces, tiny bits like dolls accessories. Oh I ready need this pattern! :)

robin said...

Your bags are so pretty! I also like the fact that you can see what's inside without having to open it. Currently, I have 3 projects ongoing. I have 14 others waiting in the cue. We won't discuss the many bits and pieces of various project "ideas" I have!

Unknown said...

The bag is very clever.12 in progress, and 6 more that in my head now. I love this bag you made. Have a nice day. Hope I win.

Unknown said...

I have 3 WIP, love the pouches would be great to easily see my projects and will give me ooomph to get them done.

Gina said...

After a quick count in my head, I think I have 10. But, if I go to my sewing room and look, I'm bound to find more! Oops !

Rita said...

I have perhaps three WIPs now. Thanks for the giveaway.

annemarie said...

Great bag idea! I must have a dozen works in progress if not more - sad I know!

Debbie Bauer said...

Love these bags! I really don't mind answering your question. I just finished up several WIP before the holidays. So at the moment I only have 4!

Verena said...

Love the bags, great idea! I only have two WIPs at the moment, but those are WIPs already for a few years. Most of the things I work on are small and finished quite quickly, but those two are my long term projects!

Katherine said...

It's not so much the number of WIPs that I have which concerns me (although it is a fair few, don't want to count, living in denial...), so much as the fact that a couple of them are well over a decade old...

Fran said...

It's not so long ago that I was a one project at a time girl but I now have 6 WIPs - that's not so bad, right? I love your pattern, it's so clever & practical. Thanks for the chance to win.

Unknown said...

I have too many WIP to count! I can't wait to purchase this pattern. I already have some vinyl ready to go.

Plum Cox said...

I've been trying one or two ideas with vinyl too recently - I like to see things too! I've got about six WIPS at the moment - and should probably organise them so I don't accidently use something destined for sashing in one as borders in another....you know how it is!

Julie said...

I love your question. I'm totally guessing at this, but I think 6 that will finished. Where does the time go? These bags are so useful. Vinyl and zippers - here we go!

DG said...

Oh!! I have 4 wip´s!!
but a lot of cross stitch´s wip´s,´but who´s counting???

Unknown said...

I love your bags. If I would guess, I would say I have at least 12 WIP. Thank you for the chance to win your patterns.

Arianna M. said...

I think I have around 6 WIPs right now.

barbaradougherty126 said...

I have 8 WIP's right now. :/ I am whittling them down, but don't have much time right now. Watching my grandson while my daughter is in school. I could really use some of these bags. lol. Thanks

Amanda said...

6 WIP that I can get to and count right now! We're not talking about the ones we can't see to count because they are under the bottom of the stash piles, right? ;)

Plumdelice said...

I had 23 WIP, but since another workshop yesterday, it's now 24! I am going to try to finish two per month during 2015, a small one and a larger one. I love your blog and your pattern. Thank you for all your hard work.

I'm quitte modest with just about five works in progress. But I've got a Hugo list of 'to do's'... I would-be love to win your WIP pattern, bedauwd they are lovely!

I have at least 12 WIP's and 3 of those are Bee Blocks! Yipes. I would love to win this pattern. They would make great gifts for my sewing pals.

girl, i have no idea how many wips i have...somewhere north of 20, not all quilts, some are clothes.

(ps - i love this idea! and i have vinyl on hand!!!)

Lynne said...

Do you want me to include them ALL? Though I am reassured by the first comment. Not sure whether I would top 50!

Johanna said...

I'm not sure how to define WIP. Is it ones that have actually been started or do you include the ones where you have collected the fabric together? So, I have started about 25 and I have another maybe 5 or 10 that I have collected the fabric together.
Love your WIP bags. I love making small projects. It is so nice to finish something.

I have at least 15 and I am too scared to get an actual count!

I think I have about 6 WIP's at this point. Of course, that doesn't count how many I have actually bought the fabric for and just haven't started cutting yet!!

Thanks for the chance to win!!

Carol C said...

I just counted my quilt tops the other day and there were 15. That's just tops. Maybe I should call myself a topper instead of a quilter. LOL Cute bag pattern!

Kathleen said...

I probably have 6-10 WIP's....I sometimes lose track of what I am doing! HAHA. This pattern is just what I need to organize my projects. I would love to win a copy!

I have about 5 quilts in progress. And I need to make about 3 more for presents, arg! Baby #2 slowed down all progress. I had to take away my craft space to put the crib. Can't wait until she is big enough to share a room and I get my craft space back.

These bags are great. I have only a few WIPs - maybe four or five - but I'd love to keep them in these bags, and maybe make a few for my friends.

Clothed in Scarlet said...

If I count pillows I've made for my daughter that needs labels.....nine...I think lol yes that's right nine ;0) because oops oh no that's right there is ten, eleven! I am not gonna count the fabric waiting for me to start my brother's wedding quilt! Lol If so then we'll have to call it twelve... oooh my! Wow! what am I doing here, I got stuff to do hahaha! Aww that's right mojo I'm looking for my mojo. Thanks for sharing and hosting a give away. Sarah

Andrea R said...

Actually in progress? Because if I count stacks of fabric ready to start cutting.. it's 40. :/

Yeah. I made a list recently and just stopped there.

Little Quiltsong said...

OK - fourth attempt to answer this question. Let's just say it is easier to count my age than all my WIP's. But WIP's make me happy - because everyday there is a reason to go down into my sewing room and sew.

GabiP said...

I have 7 WIPs and that is sad cause I never intended to have more than 2! This is a wonderful pattern and I appreciate the opportunity to win.

Catherine said...

Wow! Great bags. My WIP`s are in seperate piles in the sewing room and kitchen. Let`s see, that`s 4 bags, two placemats, 1 quilt top, 2 pot holders, several 4 patch blocks waiting for an idea, mug rugs ready to quilt, kitchen curtains and 2 zip pouches. Thanks so much for your Giveaway.

Becky H said...

Great pattern! I "only" have about a dozen WIPs - but I've only been quilting for a year!!

Cindy P. said...

The bags are just adorable! I think I may have about 15 or so WIP going. I may have left a couple out....I'm not as organized as you, so these bags would help me!

Unknown said...

WIP bags....great idea!!!! New quilter but already several WIP that could use this! Thank you for taking the time to share how to make these!

Birdblocks said...

Your bags are so cute it would win me over to learn using zippers ;-)
Pete knows I need them with my WIP numbers close to (or maybe over) something in 3 digits... A lot of them are class samples. And I kid my self into saying that it is good to show the proces in class in stead of a finished thing. Blahblah, you know ;-) Anyway after 5 years of producing a new classprogram twice a year (for my shop) I stopped the maddness. Now I finish more of my work. But I will never catch up (and I am quite ok with that).
Love your frecuent stories, you inspire me everytime.
Hugs from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Merel aka mrs. Scissors

I have a lot... Just like not wanting to step on the scale, I don't want to count up my UFO's!

Thank you for this opportunity! I have 22 WIP....I am on a mission to get it down to just a few soon!

Pat at Bell Creek Quilts said...

Thanks for this chance to win! I don't even KNOW how many WIP's I have! Geesh…talk about denial!

Unknown said...

I absolutely love this pattern and am so happy it is finally available. As for WIP's there is the quilt I am going to quilt my self as soon as I feel confident in the technique and two others waiting for binding. My sewing room is back to the guest room for visitors until the middle of March so all will remain WIP's a little longer.

Cyndi said...

I wish I had just 22 WIP. I have them scattered out all over and don't want to know exact amount. Keep finding more I want to do. Need the ever elusive time.

Kathy S. said...

LOVE your bags and how they stack. I currently have 64 -- yes, sixty-four WIPS!!! You can see the list here:

I love these bags for WIPs!! I love everything you do and, as a matter of fact, yesterday I made the Charming Handbag pattern that you created. It is adorable and I plan to make several more this week for gift giving.

I think I need these to get organized. I am afraid if I start I may find more project started than I realized.

I probably have 4-5 WIP but tennish or so UFOs; when do WIPs become UFOs?💗😘

Grace and Peace Quilting said...

Love your Work In Progress bag patter! My WIPs? A couple dozen. Not everything is finished by it's original maker, as is evident by the antique quilt tops and blocks I've inherited. But I'm constantly working on mine, and those antique WIPs that someone else started. ~bekedams at yahoo dot com

Pattie D said...

If an exact number is needed, I am sure I won't qualify and if I have to go count then I won't be able to post. But I know of 13 quilt tops that I need to get on my longarm! I am sure there is close to 50 WIP's in the sewing room....I have a problem!

krislovesfabric said...

I tried this last year, the counting...I stopped at 25. This looks like a more compact way to store them than the hard plastic drawers I've tried using.

AmandaJean Thankyou for all your blood, sweat and tears! I can only imagine what a task (and some fun) it is to write and publish a pattern. I think I would gladly state my age (54) than truly admit to how many WIP's! But I think it is probably around 20 or so. The pattern would definitely help get things organized!

tara said...

Hmmmm, maybe somewhere around 20. Its getting better though!

JanineMarie said...

I only have two WIPs right now, and one of them is mostly in my head and a little on paper. (Maybe if I had some cute bags, I'd make more WIPs to put in them.)

Well, only 4-5 unfinished tops..... But about ten tops waiting to be quilted, and a HUGE list of "to do" items.... Now including these awesome bags!!!

Jodi said...

Maybe eight, or nine? But probably more! Love the pattern!

Sharon said...

Wow! What a neat idea. I have quite a few WIPs and need some of these bags so I can see what I have.

Unknown said...

Including the ones still in my head, and the one in the "possibly too ugly to continue," I think I have seven WIPs. At this point, I don't think I want an exact count!

Nice job on the bags! I probably have a dozen or so WIPs (more if you count the quilts waiting to be actually QUILTED, LOL).

I need to make about 100 of these!! My WIP list I'm afraid is getting out if control!! This is my finish it up year!! At least 1 WIP a month!!

Danette said...

Well, honestly, I cannot count all of my WIPs because some go back years. But for the current ones, I'll go with 4. As far as full size quilts go, I have been trying to finish one before starting another. Thanks, peterstankovich@comcast.net

This is the best version of such a bag I have seen so far. I am going to love making these. With all the variations in size, it will be used all over my house.

Sarah said...

WIPs come in various phases and timelines in my world (so close to not even started beyond grouping fabrics!), but there are probably a dozen in various stages and containers!

As we will be welcoming our first born into the world in a couple of months, I am sure that number will grow!

imsewn said...

I love these bags! I have a half-dozen or so zippered project bags from quilt shops, filled with cut projects. But these are so much better, unique and one-of-a-kind!

Jenny said...

counting quilt tops that need attention...i would put my WIPs at around 12. ugh. cute pattern!

Anonymous said...

Those bags are awesome! Thanks for all of the hard work you put into making the pattern.

I currently have 5 wips, which is a lot for me. I usually only have three things going at a time. My usual rotation includes one active quilt, one where I'm hand stitching the binding down, and an english paper piecing project that I keep in my purse and work on when I'm away from home. Currently, I have those three, as well as a baby quilt for a coworker, and a quilt that I just pulled out of hiding for my guild's UFO challenge.

Thanks again for the pattern for the bags! They will really come in handy for my projects that are on deck.

What a great way to store (and see!) your works-in-progress! I love all the color and size variety in your WIP bags! I probably have at least 10 serious quilting projects in the works, plus another 10 or 20 that are older and/or need to be revamped ... but I get the feeling I've left out a few, and I'm not even counting my knit/crochet WIPs!

Oh my! I'm not sure of the exact amount, but I'd say that I have at LEAST 15 projects in various stages.

Now, if you were to ask about the number of kits I have. . . well, I don't know if I can count that high! LOL

Karen said...

I love these bags! As a wanna-be quilter, a knitter, spinner crocheter, etc. I have numerous WIPS's - in honesty I don't think I could give an accurate number - and some are so old I forgot I have them - definitely upwards of 30.

Unknown said...

I have all open storage for in progress projects and that seems to help cut down on the number of WIPs. I currently have three quilts in progress, one project that was given to me to determine if it's worth saving, and several projects that I have all the pieces for but haven't been cut yet. All told I'd say I have a list of about 10 projects that I would consider in progress. These bags would be a lovely addition to my list!

If I have to tell how many I have I will first need to dump out all the totes, pull everything from the closet and go thru all the drawers to count them. But right now I know there is 3 baby blankets that need backings and quilted.

Maybe a few of these bags would help!!
thanks

I have never had a problem telling my age, now weight is a different thing all together!! I love your WIP bags so much - I hope that you write the pattern up to sell! I need about 40 or more ... it's bad!

Marla said...

I'm not too good with large numbers, so I don't think I'll count my WIPs. In fact, now that you got me thinking, I'm not sure how many sewing machines I have. If I had to guess, I'd say less than 20 on the machines and more than twenty in the WIPs. Your project bags look great!

ConGhin said...

I also like the ability to see the contents, so this would be a pattern I would use.
It would be tempting to keep making more bags for projects instead of finishing the quilts, but that is a different problem. Glad to hear the vinyl isn't hard to work with - I thought it might be slick.

Laura said...

I am not at all sure how many WIPs I have ... maybe 8, 10, 12 ... and that's not counting the dozens of projects I've bought materials for and haven't even started. I definitely need to make some bags for them, though!

I have far too many WIP's to count and am embarrassed at how many are quite old. I need to think about just letting them go ... onto someone's home perhaps? But I love the idea of storing them in clear vinyl and your clear bags look so pretty. Would love to win a pattern.

I am a beginner, but I have 2 tops to quilt (stealth projects that I can't pin out when family is home) and 2 more bed sized in the process of piecing or waiting to be pieced. Now if we were talking about knitting WIP's, it would be a whole 'nother story. :)
Those WIP bags are great!

I have 9 WIPs on the go. Have a challenge at my quilt guild to finish them to be entered into a draw for a prize. Incentive is always a good thing. Love the bage.

Love all your work in progress bags, would love to win . Thanks so much , for such a great giveaway!

I have so many UFO's, and I am afraid they wouldn"t fit in one of those bags. I have them in boxes, and even then some of them don't fit. I am slowly getting them done. The only problem is, I keep starting more. I probably have close to 40 unfinished projects.

Thanks for sharing. Wonderful ideas. There are so many UFO's and WIP, mostly likely more than my age. -Scary-

I have 60 WIPs, UFOs, PIGs, PhDs and NESTYs. And I started a new project this week! All good--I'll be working on them for the rest of my days, but that's my happiness. I love your project holder and it would work perfectly for one of my current WIPs!

Kathy said...

To know how many WIPs I have would mean I'd have to count them - something I'm afraid to do. Let's just go with the fact that I have a bunch- more than 5 and less than 100 (I think/hope)!

Brianna S said...

Only counting quilting projects, I have .....6 quilts in the making. Let's not talk about other projects

I have 30+ WIPs (my definition is: pattern and fabric for the top in the same place ready to cut & sew). I store raw fabric with the pattern in a Jumbo size Hefty storage bag so I can distinguish them from quilts that I've already started, which I move to hard clear plastic, stackable ArtBin 12X12x3 totes once I start cutting and assembling. This size is perfect for a 12" block. I can label the totes so they're easily identifiable when stacked and I try to remember to add a second label with an estimate of completion so I can grab a project to match my energy level for the day :-). Your bags are totally adorable, and I can see replacing my Hefty bag system with these no problem. And they look like fun to make, too! Of course, that would create even more WIPs. ......

Great looking bags, it would make me face two fears, zippers and vinyl

Betty said...

Hi! Your new pattern would be perfect for me, love it. I believe I have 18 WIPs, every 5 I get done I get to start a new WIP. I had my pile down to about 7, but last month my sister added a box of our Mom's WIPs. They're not all quilts or I'd really be in trouble.

Linda in PA said...

Love your bags! I have 6 WIPs. I should finish them, but I want to start on a new quilt along. Thanks for the giveaway and the chance.

Ann D said...

I counted 10 projects started but not completed. Then I have fabric set aside for at least 4 new projects which I am not allowing myself to start until I finish a WIP. Thanks for having this giveaway. I can make good use of your pattern.

Love these bags!! They are so on my to make list!! I don't think I could even count how many wips I have. But I also dabble in a lot of crafts besides sewing. There is crochet, needle tatting, card making, paper bead making, home decor (using my awesome Silhouette), quilling, quilting, and painting...I think I got them all. I think I probably have at least 5 wips in each category...ahh, scary now that I think of the numbers!! Sometimes I have to have a break from the same project and start a little one on the side. Add that to a 45 minute commute one way for work and 2 kids, I think the number will always stay that high. Let's just hope it doesn't go up more!! :)

Patti said...

These bags are great! They don't take up a lot of space. Right now my WIPs are in clear boxes that take up a huge amount of space. I probably have 10-15 WIPs. Better pit down my iPad and get busy!

Mary Jo Weber said...

The bags are a great idea. I don't have so many WIP as projects waiting to be started. While working, I would buy something I loved and never got to work on it. I retired recently and love to "shop" in my closet for new projects!

Gill said...

Great pattern!
I probably have around 15 WIPs!!

CandaceL said...

I think I have at least 15 WIPs and that makes me a bit crazy about finding storage solutions until I can get to them. Great bags!

Cindy Maki said...

I only have a few WIPS. But I do have several sizes of Hexies in manila envelopes, so this would be great bags for those. I take hexies everywhere I know I will have to wait. So, I may have hundreds just waiting for the time to make something nice with them. Thanks for the giveaway. Good luck everyone.

Sharlene said...

Those bags look AWESOME! I would have to say I have around a dozen WIPs. That's not including the quilt tops that are finished and sitting with the backing waiting for a recipient in need to then be quilted.

Karen said...

I think I must have about 16 sewing/quilting WIPs...and countless embroidery WIPS. We're not counting those today, are we? :-)

Diannia said...

Please enter me in this give-away. IF I don't win a pattern I may have to buy one.. LOL!

Most of my 50+ UFO"s are large size and would not fit into these bags, but I am always starting new ones .....

Amanda I'm so excited about this post! I have been anxiously awaiting this new pattern. I've already been to Craftsy and the pattern is in my cart! Just deciding on picking up Trees or your Thread Catchers too! Thanks for sharing your awesome talents with us! I hope you have a great day.

Unknown said...

I've got 6 WIPs in my line of vision right now and another 7 hung up in my closet needing backings to be made and quilting to be done! (and SHHH! you know I'll stop everything to make up a few of these bags before I go back to my unfinished projects! LOL)

FlourishingPalms said...

You're just too clever-talented! Love this bag idea. Another one of those, "Now why didn't I think of that?!" I have 17 UFOs on the shelf, and three more that I'm currently working on. That's enough, isn't it?

Crafty Coffin said...

Love the bags! I'm actually not to bad, I only have...5 WIPs, but I have a bunch of fabric slated for specific projects so I think your bags would be really useful for that too.

Cindi said...

These are such cute project bags! <3
I have fabric collected for lots of projects...but if I haven't actually cut into it yet...then I don't consider it a WIP (just sayin!)So given that...I have 1 WIP right now. It's a baby quilt for my new Grandson!

These bags are such a good idea for soooo many things. I have made oodles of make up bags - and wondering, is the vinyl hard to sew through?

sandrarumsey said...

Great idea! Thanks for the chance.

More than I care to admit, at least 10 within sight and I'm in the dining room. We won't discuss the sewing room. Why do you think I'm in the dining room? lol.... Thanks for the giveaway. Would love to win it since most of mine are in zip type plastic bags.

Unknown said...

These bags are so darn cute and easy to take along on a road trip. Several uses besides quilting too. I have about 10 WIP right now and these bags would help a lot. Thanks for the chance to win

Bobbie said...

What great bags! I have 17 WIPs, and they are just sitting there, glowering at me, crying "Do something! Do something!"

Unknown said...

Don't know why I'm commenting, because I can't imagine I will actually make these bags, as cute as they are. But it's an interesting challenge -- just how many WIPs do I have? Hmmm. Well, I'm not in my studio so I'm having to guesstimate, but let's say 11 quilts in varying stages of construction. Then there are the placemats (set of 6) and coasters (2 pair), the scarves (2 quilted, 3 infinity), 1 embroidery sampler, 2 aprons, 1 set of pennants. 23 is a rough estimate, and I just KNOW I'm forgetting something! Oh dear! If only I could quit my job!

Corky said...

I have too many WIP, but I'm chipping away at them. The difficult part is trying to determine if I should donate UFOs that I have lost interest in finishing! Thanks for a great give away!

Kelly said...

I have at least 5 or 6 wips at the moment -- I'm hoping to polish one off this afternoon!
These bags are so great!

Sandy said...

I have been following your progress on these nifty vinyl bags and I need to make some! I listed my WIPs in January- an eye-opening shameful exercise! I will admit to 23 WIPs. 😁

ann said...

I need a mathematic equation in order to determine the final number. You know #years quilting divided by age x (# of relatives who need quilts - # who already ahve quilts) + # of hours you have to sew in a day ........you get the idea. So no, I have no idea how many real projects I need to finish. Some of them are still in my head but I feel like they're WIP's.

Agnė said...

Well, I have "only" 8 quilting WIPs (it is my second year, when I am sewing them :D ), 17 different embroidery WIPs, 5 other sewing WIPs and some knitting and crocheting WIPs that I am afraid to count :D :D :D Not so bad, but I should somehow minimize these numbers.

Maureen said...

I have 2 I'm am alternating back/forth now, but about 6 needing FMQ.

dogloverlaura said...

I think I have close to 16 WIP plus about 10 quilts to be quilted. I am getting closer to the finish, but there are so many pretty patterns and fabrics that as soon as I finish 1 I start 2 or 3 more projects. I just love your site and ideas. That project bag would be perfect for me.

quiltzyx said...

I really am not sure how many WIPs I have. Off the top of my head, I know there's one on the sewing table, one over by the ironing board, another one sticking out of a bag (it was used as a table covering at a boutique a while ago). I'm at work right now, and there is my sample block to show at guild tonight for the new President's quilt and the challenge quilt I'm working on (for TONIGHT) that I need to sew down the binding & I want to put some beads on. Plus the whole cabinet full of tops & blocks.....

Judy S. said...

Believe I have 6 WIP....this does not count the 4 "tops" waiting to go on the quilting machine. Love these WIP bags. Hope I win one of the PDF patterns

Lovely Bags, Im not sure of the number of WIPS i try not to count them but a few big ones, A ballroom dress and 18 dance skirts being the biggest. :S

Sandy said...

I have about 15 WIPs at the moment. These bags are so cool...would love to own the pattern. Thanks for that chance.

Maybe 20... I don't know for certain :)

I like to finish things up, or I feel stressed, but I do have a few small WIP's. I'd love the bags for my current projects so they don't become covered in cat fur! My cats think anything I'm working on is a good place to nap.

Teressa P. said...

I have 3 for sure, but there are loads of fabric just waiting for me to cut into. Last night I tried to write out what I was going to do with most of it. Now I just need about 20 more hours a day to get it going :) Thanks for the chance to win.

I only have a few WIPs at this point. Thanks for the giveaway - love these bags...

I have recently worked very hard to finish 3 WIP wedding gift quilts, 2 of them were a year late, the other 6 months late. I could have easily used these bags... Might have helped move them along faster... I'm not sure how many WIP I really have now, ahhh, the bags would help I know!
I LIKE organization, and this would be taking it to the next level... :)
Thanks for the chance to receive a pattern! :)
