It's Friday! I hope you've had a good week of finishing!
I am thrilled to share my completed pineapple quilt top! It's been in progress since July, if I recall correctly. It was a fun (and intense) journey and I'm so glad that the top is DONE! It turned out remarkably close to the initial vision I had in my head. Hurray for that!
These blocks (tutorial here) are time consuming! I estimated that each one took me about 3 hours, and I'm sure that a few of them took even longer. That means I have a minimum of 60 hours into this quilt already. Oh Mylanta! (Sometimes it's better NOT to do the math, right? :)) That being said, this is a special quilt and it was totally worth it!
The blocks finish at 15.5" square (16" unfinished), so the quilt top measures about 62" x 77.5". It's a lovely lap size.
I wish I could say that I've made a dent in my scrap bins, but that isn't the case at all. Oh, well! Such is the life of a scrap quilter!

Beautiful pineapple quilt!!! Speaking of the gift of giving, I gave a good chunk of my scraps to a "quilter in need" last week. it's a win win all the way around relieves a nice layer of "scrap build-up anxiety."

Your quilt is truly lovely in its colorful scrappiness. I only keep scraps that are at least 2.5" squares, but when I see what you've done with longer and skinnier bits, I'm regretting my plan of attack (and everything I've tossed recently)!
My finish for today was a long time coming... I finally finished the scrappy nine patch from your 3rd quilt-a-long that you hosted starting in April 2009.
Your quilt is gorgeous! I started making one about the same time as you did but only made six squares. I enjoyed making them and will get back to finishing mine sometime. I look forward to how you decide to do the quilting!
Your finish is beautiful. The colors stand out as if it is 3-D. That is one that I would like to tackle in months to come. Have never seen the pineapple scrappy. I love scrappy.

OMG I am in love with your pineapple log cabin quilt! It is literally a joy to behold. I've been working on a pineapple log cabin of my own with skinny strips and large blocks, so I appreciate the effort that went into yours. Did you paper piece your blocks or use a different method? CONGRATULATIONS!

Your quilt is gorgeous. Once again this is an example that quilters quilt for the love of the craft because there sure is no money in it when 1 block can take up to 3 hours to complete. It is a work of art, no doubt about that.
Gorgeous!! I laughed at your comment about the math. I just made my first pineapple block for a member of the Mid Century Modern Bee only the color placement was the opposite of yours. Same scrappy low volume vs bright colors though. Can't say it was my favorite block to make so I give you lots of kiddos for sticking with making that many blocks. Well done.
I wanted to ask you how you get such a great 'collection' of light fabrics - with words or small item? I have been trying to collect fat quarters, but it never seems to be enough.

Your pineapple quilt is wonderful and your results are really amazing considering how much time each block has taken you. So you did go girl!
