first day of school

Well, today is the first full day of school for these little ones.
I'm so ready for this! (Much more than I was last year.) No tears today.
I'm looking forward to the fresh start and the structure that comes with the beginning of the school year. Waking up at 6 something everyday, on the other hand, is going to take some getting used to!
(Just for the record...these kids are as normal as can be. My son didn't want his photo taken at all, much less with his sister. His sister on the other hand wanted a photo of them hugging. You just gotta laugh....)
And this guy....he started middle school (middle school!!!) yesterday. He turns 12 (!!!) on Friday.
Yikes. Big week.
There may be a few tears before the week is through after all.

Oh I love the first day of school pictures. My kids are five years apart and I remember the last year my daughter was at home before starting school standing at the door sobbing while her brother left her behind.
Seems like only yesterday but it really was 1986 :0).

Time flies when you raising kids :0)
I hope you all have a terrific year!

Happy Sewing

Enjoy your alone time!! The first day, you'll probably be lost and wonder what you will do all day, but believe me, that will pass and from now on, you'll cherish every minute!

I'm laughing at the hugging comment your daughter made. Funny.

Wow. Comparing last year's and this year's photos helps you realize how they're growing.

Happy back to school to all.

I had my last "first day of school" yesterday as my younger daughter started her senior year. When did that happen?

I feel your pain on the Middle School front! My oldest started High School this year! ...now I feel like we're on a count-down clock until he moves out. :(

I say HUG THEM even if they don't want to be hugged.... then they can't say nobody loves them. Love, it does the school day a whole lot of good. It is a mean world out there somedays. I love the tradition of first day of school pictures. They always complain but now my daughters have childen and the tradition continues. :) have a wonderful sew filled day!

This post SO makes me laugh. We also had 'big brother little sister' pixs of the first day of school...all the way thru 12th grade. Looking back SOME of them are sweet, some have big brother grimacing with little sister hugging and some are just the two standing there. Precious memories!
