small projects sew along
Here's how it would work.
1. Compile your list of small projects you would like to complete.
2. Write it down in a blog post.
3. Throughout the month, work on your projects, as time allows.
4. As you complete a project, blog about it, cross it off your list and do a little cheer. :)
5. Share your photos in the quilting with crazy mom flickr group. Make sure to link to the source of your pattern/tutorial/inspiration if you used one.
(I'm in list making mode, can you tell?)
Here's my project list:
1. Patchwork lanyard
2. Vintage sheet skirt with lining
4. Zippered box bag
5. Tiny trash cans
6. 9 patch pin cushions
7. Van trash cans x 2
8. Guitar strap
9. Granny square pillow cover
10. Thread catchers (with tiles)
11. Color coded storage boxes for stash
12. Patchwork belt
13. Another flirt skirt
14. Drawstring backpack
15. Kitchen curtains
16. Ticker tape on canvas
17. Kitchen chair pads
18. Dress for my daughter
19. Table topper for TV console table
20. Mini quilt for front entry table
I think that's it for now. :) They are listed in no particular order. Now, I'm not delusional or anything. I know I won't get them all done, but if I accomplish even a portion of them, I'll be pretty excited!
So, anyone want to join me?
(would someone want to volunteer to make a button for this? I'd appreciate any help!)

I think finally I have a sew-along I can manage!
I think I'm in. Does that require commitment? :) I'll have to ponder the list and write up a post.
That's a BIG list of little things! I'm almost afraid to put my list in one place for fear of how big it will actually be.... but I'm in!
I'd love to join in. Let me know if no one volunteers to make a button, and I'll be happy to do it!
I don't know--you might be delusional :)
This is a great idea.
Let me go see if I have any small projects begging to be finished (or started).
Brilliant idea. I can only manage small projects right now, so this is perfect for me!
You are crazy.
Oh, wait. We all know that.
Oh wait. Even you know that.
But I find your list and your challenge intriguing. I'll grab a pen and draft a list even though I think I'm going to discover that I'm crazy too.
Your list makes me happy. For once, it is longer than mine. :)
You are crazy! :) I love your blog. Thanks.
Wow what a list! I'll have to make one eventually =D
Since there is no number assigned to do to participate I can join. I have a really busy month ahead of me but I know I can fit in several little projects, no where near as many as are on your list. Sounds like fun, thanks for organizing it.
I'm soooo in! I have 11 small items to have done by June 14 for our Guild challenge! Wish me luck!
I have 1 done, 1 almost done.
take care, Leslie
I'm in. My list is not as long as yours and contains some non sewing projects but there are at least 4 of 5 sewing ones on there :)
Hi Amanda Jean. I know you're super busy but I would love to see a tutorial on patchwork lanyards and guitar straps. ;-) Theresa
Wow, Your list is so LONG!!!I think it's a great idea. I'm in. I'm new to the blog world and I just found your blog a few weeks ago. I just read your very first post; you know back on November 2, 2006!!! Amazing all you've accomplished! -April @ Little Mama Hen
Fantastic idea, I'm so in. Now I'm off to compile my list.
This is a super idea!! :o)
NOT gonna make a list. NO way. Sitting on my hands....
1. Quit following CRAZY people.
2. Just kidding...LOL
You seriously ARE crazy! That's not a little list. And you don't have time for all that stuff! I'm thinking we should all be looking for a 12-step program for you!
I can join, too. My list may include a quilt block or two, if okay. Fun times ahead!
Love it!! I think I can do this SAL. I have several projects close to being done, so instead of your Finish it up Friday this will be Finish it up May! Now I need to make a list.
Made you a button! Sent the code to your email. :) Making my list, checking it twice...
I am in. I have been wanting to get some presents going & this is just what I need to get going.
Your list looks as long as my list.....I like a challenge....I would like to get some gifts done from my UFO's bin....Thanks for hosting...Judith, Texas
I'll make a list & check it twice. Then, start just as soon as I finish my mom's crossed stitched iphone case.
That's sewing I just it should just be number one on the list!
thanks for making me fess up that I have a small project to do list! as soon as there's a button, I'll get the blog post up. Thanks Amandajean!!
That's a pretty long list ... I'm in for some tiny projects.
I would love to join this project Ammanda Jean, can't wait to see you at Riverside Quilting in River FallslLater in the Month for the Book Signing and Classes. Sorry I couldn't make it to the Retreat but am looking forward to the next one. Diane S.
Great idea. I'm in.
I made a list! It's short, but I'd still be amazed if I get it all done.
If I can find the time to make a list, I might be in. I think I am traveling at least 15 days this month. Argh. Going to be hard to concentrate and sew. May just need to play. Don't know if I can handle the stress of pushing myself!
Well I compiled my list and it is up on my blog. It will be fun to see how far I get. DS www.dianeswett.blogspot.com
Great idea and great way to get things done, by making a list, especially a list of smaller projects that are doable. I think I have a few of the same things on my list, like kitchen chair pads and a flirty skirt.
I love making lists too, and have a list of large and small projects I'd love to finish. I won't be able to do any sewing until my semester is over, so I'm hoping for some sewing time this summer.
I'm in! Perfect timing too :)
Here is my blog post link ...
What a perfect sew along during our crazy baseball season. I am making my list now :) Wish I knew how to make a button for you but my tech skills are very minimal.
Perfect timing for a small project sew along. I will be making pillow covers for screened porch. They are so faded and this is the motivation I need to get them done before summer company starts arriving.
I'm looking forward to seeing your finished projects.
Thanks for the kick to get this done. Connie
I'm in... small projects are good! Maybe I can finish those!
I'm in.. but my list is shorter than yours. :D
I am a list maker, too...so this was perfect for me!
Count me in.
I don't have much time, but I'll try to sew something...
I'm going to make my list and share it tomorrow.
Excellent! motivation for me to get some much needed projects done, off to do my list definitely in :D.
such a good idea! definitely want to join in :)
I am in! I just made a post about my list, even though I am sure it's too long, But I am going to try!!!
In! I'll have to get creative to get a list any where as long as yours, though.
count me in!
I'd happily make you a button if you've not got one already! :)
I might get the LIST done by the end of the month!
I'm in and I've posted my list and your button on your blog.
Wow - you have quite the list!!! Good for you!
I just came across this challenge so I'm a little behind but I'd still love to play! I'll do a blog post and get going on a few little things!
Sounds like a great idea...count me in. My list will be short and I'll be happy if I get one thing done a week:)
I am in! This is going to help me get some gifts done.
I missed a few days and tbh I'm happy if I can finish a project I just started today this month. But I'll try to compile my list and blog about it tomorrow. Great idea btw and your list is HUGE. :)
I am in! I just started blogging, and kind of missed out on the linking party (didn't know how to join). This time I'll join! I thought of and blogged about a list and I am looking forward to this! I actually finished an item before the list.... Who knows; maybe I'll even pick up a nice pace finishing my good intensions...:) Not sure I've got Flickr figured out yet, but we'll see about that later!
Sounds fun! Do doll quilts count as small projects?
Yep I'm in, great idea and those adorable tiny pin cushions will be on the list!
I'd love to follow along! Inspired to get some thinsg done :)
Count me in too. What is a flirt skirt - I put that on my list because it sounded fun. See my blog post at http://nans40quilts.blogspot.com/.
I hope you are having an awesome week.
Count me in too! I'm keeping my list short because of the late start :-)
i can't wait to start this sew a long! i love the little things in life and this just makes my day! oh, and i love crossing off lists, if that isn't motivation enough to sew more. great idea!
I am enjoying this! Yesterday I had a finish (although technically it's crochet, I did do some sewing and embroidery in this project)and I find myself hurrying along to get on with my list ;)
