my design wall

This is actually a good representation of what runs through my head on a daily basis. Can anyone say "chaos?"
-----
Thanks to all of you who shared quilting ideas for my rolling stones quilt top. You all seem to have much for confidence in my quilting abilities than I do....which I appreciate, by the way. :) I haven't settled on a quilting design yet, but it's percolating. I'll keep you posted.

If I had a design wall, it would probably look a lot like that! I am always in the middle of a dozen projects and dreaming of new ones!
Yours is beautiful in the chaos.

Not chaos - creative genius! What runs through my head is lucky if it gets jotted down into a notebook! Love your work ;)

Sometimes my mind looks like that...only on the side of a Helium balloon...and then, I'm lost in the stratosphere somewhere... I can hear faint words, "earth to annie....earth to annie..." I'm going "huh? what?"

annie

I looked at your picture and read what you had to say about it, and had a really good chuckle. My head is like that, too. full of things I want to do, and no where near enough hours in the day to do them all.

It is a busy wall! I couldn't sleep at night if there was that much going on.

I've seen so many design walls. How do they work exactly?

LimeRiot said...

Actually, I think your design wall would make a pretty cool random quilt if you pieced it all together :).

OHG, that's exactly what go through my brain, lol! Your design wall is completely inspiring :)

This is so great! It is always helpful to see what we are actually work on each time with new ideas blooming and create the pieces and visually see it! I wish I have a design wall, someday! Our apartment is filled with plywood around it and we can't make any holes on it or we will receive charges per a hole.

I like how the fly geese flying over the design wall! Thank you for sharing..

That looks so inspiring. I only have one thing at a time on my design wall. I'm afraid I would get too distracted with a bunch of projects in view. Instead I have lots of boxes around with UFO's and I still flit from thing to thing. :)

Cherie,

My design wall is simply a king sized flannel flat sheet tacked up to the wall with thumb tacks. It's amazingly easy, simple, cheap and effective! :)

Hope that helps!

I love it! I don't have a place for a permanent design wall right now, so I can't put my chaotic thoughts up for all to see - but I'd love to!

I wouldn't dream of a design for the quilting but the rolling stone design was so gorgeous.

If I had a design wall, it would easily look like that, but not as good. My entire sewing room is chaos. You would not enjoy it! LOL.

I love your design wall, I have been thinking up a way to have somewhere to put my little pieces besides on the floor! Great idea!

I'm glad you explained what you are using for a design wall. I just purchased a huge piece of white felting to use for one and was trying to figure out what to hang it from. Thumbtacks never occurred to me, so I'm definitely giving it a try! Thanks for the great suggestion.

Not "chaos"... lol... it's "inspiration"!

My design wall is nearly as crazy at the moment. Do you find that you create more when it looks like this? It seems to work that way for me....

That is so cool! I wish I could tape up a design wall in my sewing space, but it will have to be in my closet for now!

Do wonder how you get to this design wall, or parts of it... interesting to see you run your machine wires to the front and I run them to the back and am forever dragging my feet when the machine needs to be moved. Might try the wires in the front the next "move". Thanks for the peak of "chaos", LOL. We all know that what works for you is great.
