This is another one of those projects that I've been meaning to make for awhile. It's a cute little "trash can" to use while I do my handwork projects. I was using a clear plastic baggie (which felt so incredibly lame) so this fabric version is a major upgrade. I used some treasured Kaffe fabric for the outside and Montecito fabric for the lining. For once I didn't use "junk" fabric for my first try. Maybe there IS hope for me and my fabric hoarding tendencies after all?!?!
It's flexible, so it folds up and fits nicely in my little travel box. It was super quick to construct-I think it took me longer to get a half decent photo than it took me to sew it up. Hurray for an instant gratification project!
Now for a non-instant gratification project...I have a new pattern up for sale in my shop!

I'm going to have to sew myself a little trash can like that for my hand sewing work! My husband is going to kill me if he finds any more threads all over the floor and lounge!

ReplyDeleteI use the craziest things to capture my little thread snips. I have thought about making something cute like you and Ayumi have but I still haven't settled on a color scheme or theme for my room yet. I'm inspired by your cute basket, though!

ReplyDeleteLove the little trash can! I had a ceramic "snippits" jar that I used. However, one of my kids broke it. She was very upset, poor thing. This looks a little less breakable! The quilt is wonderful too, I do believe I need to add that onto my list of projects. Just four left to finish before I can start any new ones.

ReplyDeleteThat's such a cute trash can! I'm sitting here hand stitching a rose star, and can almost hear my husband complaining about the threads that will inevitably end up on his uniform! Guess I should whip something up. I love small projects like that!
