  1. I think this is neat way to use scraps and still look hype. Is background the same as the top?

  2. I really like this! I love how much white you use as a background in your quilts- the thought of white kinda scares me with kids in the house.

I'm really interested to see how you display this in your entryway. Will you please post pictures once it is complete?

  6. Fantastic. Just when I had given myself permission to recycle (compost) my tiny scraps I have to start saving them again for this project! It is so on my 'must-do' list.

  8. What a fun idea! I'll second what Blondie said -- can we see it when you hang it?

  9. I simply adore the fact that all the little pieces are not aligned in any particular way - that brings so much life to the quilt. I shall look forward to the next picture of this, with lovely stippling and borders!!

  10. I love it! another one to add to my to do list!

  11. I love this! It's a wonderful way to display little bits of your favorite fabric that you've saved even the last tiniest piece of because you can't bear to part with it. (Not that I've, um, done that or anything...)

  12. Very cute! I am also working on something for my front entry way. :) I look forward to seeing how you are going to finish and display it. :)

  14. This is the most fantastic quilt I've seen in a long time, and thanks for linking to the tutorial. There seems to be a theme of "Improv Quilting" going around the blogosphere and I'm totally digging' it. One of these days I'll join in!

  39. Love. This. What a good idea on how to use a quilt! I've never wanted to hang a quilt, mainly because I don't like the looks of them on walls, but this one would look awesome! I love modern quilt patterns, like this one!

Seriously, I love what you do, but do you have OCD Is there a diagnosis of OQD. Obsessive quilting disorder?

  49. I really like this. I'm not a fan of making everything match up just right based on my accurate measuring and cutting. Which is strange for a quilter...

    ReplyDelete
  50. I Love this one, so colouful but not too 'busy' at the same time! I am so happy you linked to Roxxane's site because now I have my weekend project of those gorgeous dolls houses :)

  51. I think this is great! I love some of the fabrics you've put in here - the dots in particular do some wonderful things! This will look great in your entryway. It would also be a great quilt studio hanging - kind of a "diary" of your quilts you've done, or fave fabrics.

  56. I have an "emergency" question for you about thread....

I am about to begin quilting a very large scrappy log cabin quilt. The backing is white with a dark blue design. I'm going to use white thread in the bobbin. Since the top is scrappy, what would you use to do the quilting on top? 1/2 of each block, of course, is light (whites, off-whites, beiges) but the other 1/2 is all colors. What color would you use to do your quilting?

Please e-mail me at jcleveland03 at comcast dot net

And while this question is directed toward you, Amanda, I will welcome responses from anyone who has an opinion about this because the "emergency" is that I'm going to my friends house tomorrow morning to use her quilting machine, so I need to buy the thread today. Thanks!

They are simple and fabulous! I don't know where you get your time for quilting, being a Mom, taking care of your house... and God knows how much that means + all the quilting and blogging! You probably don't sleep. Please keep the good work, I come over to see what you did every other day. Thanks
