My crazy rails quilt has been sitting on my design wall, waiting patiently for some time and attention. WIPs are good like that. (ha!) This is what the quilt looked like a couple of weeks ago....
This past weekend I attended an in-town retreat, so I had an entire day to sew with friends. It was lovely! This was a great project to work on because it required very little concentration. Between the sew day and a few more hours at home, the project grew quite a bit!
A friend sent me a photo of this quilt a few weeks ago. Isn't that insane? I thought I was crazy. Turns out, maybe I'm not so crazy after all. :)

ReplyDeleteYes, I met Annie Agius, the woman who is doing this insane world-record-quilt during a Quilting Festival in spring 2015 in France (Provence). Her quilt certainly is huge, but not necessarily beautiful. Instead, I very much like the colours you are using. Your quilt is a lot brighter than hers, and a lot smaller, so that one can actually use it.

ReplyDeleteRail Fence is my go-to type of quilt. i have done these in just blues, just reds and just purples. i love the scrappie ones so I have done 3 in neutrels and 3 the are reds/whites/blues. you can throw any colors in them and it just goes.

ReplyDeleteIt's alway such a delight to see your scrap projects. This one makes me want to pull out all those skinny scrap strips and start sewing. Do you have multiple design walls for all these ongoing projects? Lack of space keeps too many projects from starting in my studio. The scrap quilt in the link it totally totally crazy.
