I've finished my Mini Rail Fence quilt, which is the 4th in my frugal gal mini quilt series. I'm having so much fun with these! I love working on a smaller scale because it means I can actually execute more of my (crazy) ideas within my lifetime. Ha!
For this mini, I started with strip pieced 2 1/2" squares. They are teeny tiny and squeal-worthy!
I even snuck in a super scrappy string....but don't worry, there is only one in the mix. :) I couldn't resist! To quilt it, I stitched in the ditch because I was afraid that any other kind of quilting would detract from the overall aesthetic.
It would make a super cute placemat, but there is no way I'm risking food spills on this baby. It was way too time consuming for that! The mini measures 12 1/2" x 16 1/2" and it's scrap project #132!
Now, it's your turn! Please link up your finishes for the week. Thanks for joining me for finish it up Friday!
Śliczniutki :)
ReplyDeleteOh that is so cute - and so very teeny tiny, I'm amazed at your precision, I'm not that consistently accurate even when the scale is much bigger!
ReplyDeleteI would never be able to eat on it either, beautiful mini rails. I like the idea of being frugal and making such a great little quilt.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful - the scale is so very tiny. I love it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love it! Great idea to try out ideas on minis... Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI hear you on something taking too long to become a placemat! Lovely finish.

Just love the overall look of this - and the fact that each square is 2 1/2" is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love it those bright colours!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute and colorful!
ReplyDeleteSo tiny! I love seeing your scrappy quilts and mini is even cuter!
ReplyDeleteI really AM going to scrap bust this weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a darling little quilt! Thanks for all the tiny scrappy inspiration - I know I'm saving all those little bits for something special!!
ReplyDeleteYour rail fence is beyond adorable! Love the scrappiness.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun, scrappy mini! So much happy packed into that little piece!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing to see how you can reduce the traditional blocks so much while simultaneously maximizing the visual delight. Tell your hubby you need a glass table overlay so you can put your minis to work as placemats.
ReplyDeleteLove how you use up your tiniest pieces. I too, recently, emptied my 1 inch strip basket and made a baby size string quilt. I kept telling myself - no more saving those tiny strips - but it is hard to let go of favorites. You have a real knack for scrappy projects!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great mini. I was impressed when the first photo. And then I read how small the piece was...and then I was even more impressed. Such tiny blocks. Wow.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt. Love the dots. Such a bright and colorful quilt.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great mini! Such bright and happy colors! Love those little 2 1/2" scrappy blocks. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous mini! I wouldn't use it as a placemat either, with its teeny tiny pieces!
ReplyDeleteAdorable 😊 No way can you use it for a placemat !!! Too cute for risking spaghetti stains 😃
ReplyDeleteSweet!! I should make some minis so I feel like I'm getting something done.
ReplyDeleteYou never cease to amaze me, Friend! Love it.
