My latest quilt finish was 7 weeks and 4 days ago.
That's a long time (for me) and it makes me twitchy.
If all goes according to plan, that will change this week!
I am looking forward to snuggling under this quilt while hand binding.
Amazingly enough, I'm not even dreading the 100 thread ends I will need to bury.
It'll all be worth it!
Happy Monday to you!
Oh, I love this one already!
ReplyDeleteNice colors !!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it's going to be a bright and cheerful quilt!! (I need one of those about now... with all the dreary days we've had hear in NC.) Guess I better get busy!!!
ReplyDeleteI know just what you mean, I go a bit nuts if I cannot put thread into fabric, LOL!! I finally got one to the quilting stage this past week, my last finish was about 5 weeks ago, a charity quilt. You are not alone! I am very familiar with that twitchy feeling.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is lovely.
ReplyDeleteJust a glimpse of this one makes me happy - it looks so great!

ReplyDeleteGreat colours. Good luck with quilting.
ReplyDeleteSilly question, Amanda Jean, but why don't you bury the ends as you go? Just wondering.
ReplyDeleteHi friend, your ladders are exciting. Happy FMQ. It's a pretty design.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see the quilting!
ReplyDeleteAmanda Jean, I love it! What a rainbow of color. All solid Kona's?
ReplyDeletePreviously was never a fan of grey anything, but this is just smashing

What a pretty quilt, love the fabrics. Just what I need, another quilt idea on the list! Looking forward to seeing her completely finished. Gretchen
ReplyDeleteLove this. can't wait to see it when it is finished!
ReplyDeleteDo you use a self threading needle to bury threads? I find that part of the process very satisfying but I now try to take very short stitches when starting and ending my fmq to enable snipping the ends. So far, I like to do it this way. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteLooking good - here's hoping for a finish or Friday!
ReplyDeletethis is very colourfuland a great snuggle quilt, I enjoy the hand stitching with the binding but not the burying threads so much
ReplyDeleteI love that you keep an exact day count ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm yet to work out how to quilt but why do you need to bury ends??
ReplyDeleteI love gray as a background and use it quite frequently. I also love to use gray or silver thread. I wonder why that is.!! Your ladder quilt is smashing.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! Gorgeous quilting!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt! Enjoy the process :) :)
ReplyDeleteGreat work and I'm looking forward to the finish, Yeah!!
ReplyDeleteRieann,
ReplyDeleteUsually I bury the thread ends as I go, but I was anxious to get the quilting done! I can bury the ends in the evenings when my kids are home and then I don't need to be at my machine.
Hope that helps!
AJ
Diane Beavers,
ReplyDeleteyes, all Kona cottons....and I LOVE gray! Thanks for your kind words.
AJ
Judy in Michigan,
ReplyDeleteI used to use a self-threading needle, but it seemed to shred my threads. Now I use a large eyed needle. It's easy to thread and it goes pretty quick.
I hope that helps!
AJ
Amanda J,
ReplyDeleteI bury the thread ends because there is a lot of starting and stopping. I chose to quilt the elements of the quilt separately, using different colored threads for each of the blocks and another color for the background. It's a lot of extra work, but it seemed like the best option for this particular quilt.
I hope that helps!
AJ
Looking good!
ReplyDeleteThat's a neat quilt - here is to the twitches going away!
ReplyDeleteThis looks fantastic! I can't wait to see it finished!
ReplyDeleteLoving it!
