Summer is speeding by (only 19 more days until school starts, not that anyone in this house would be counting!) and we are trying to soak up as much of it as we can. At the same time, I'm trying to get something accomplished. It's a tricky balance, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Sometimes I have to remind myself of that, (hahaha!) but it's true. Here's a little bit of what I've been working on....

basting my row by row baby quilt (pattern
here)....
(this is my favorite at the moment....I wish I could sit and hand stitch all day long.)
some (mostly) straight line quilting....
and discovering some new trails near our house. I found some great new spots for taking quilt photos, too, which was a great surprise....now I just need to finish something! :)

I love your craftsy row quilt done in that color palette. I have been eyeing your class and will sign up for it soon (once I get a few WIPs off my sewing table and have room to start something new!! Congrats, the class looks great and you have nice feedback on it so far.

ReplyDeleteUmmm, I sewed one block of the Moda Modern Blocks. It looks a lot like a Confederate flag but done in a dark turquoise, eggshell white, and coral. That is all for the sewing. Life is so busy around here.

ReplyDeleteCurrently I'm piecing one of two red and white star themed blocks for my do good stitches group. I have both top and bottom of a mini quilt on my design wall ready to be sandwiched and quilted. It's for my guild's challenge. I'm waiting for a fabric order for my Michael Miller challenge project. And the list goes on... Thanks for sharing your projects. The bright colors are phenomenal. I really love a happy quilt!

ReplyDeleteYou're working on such nice-looking things. I admire everything you create, and your medallion quilt is looking especially nice. I'm envious that you found some undiscovered trails that are so pretty! From your photo, it certainly looks like it has potential for photography. Must ask... do you always have someone accompany you when you take pictures? I've found it difficult to take my own on-location photos.

ReplyDeleteI, too, have some WIP's in the works. Two are huge quilts for family and friends. All that's is left on on one is sewing the binding on. I've learned two things while doing these quilts: One) due to physical constraints (which I accept as I age) the larger quilts are a thing of my youthful past. Two) I will enjoy making baby quilts, bags, wall hangings and such cuz I'm not giving up quilting. I've found that age is simply a state of mind and thinking outside the lines is tons of fun. Your "solid" patchwork has given me some terrific ideas for future projects and I head down the mini quilt road. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteYou somehow manage to produce, even with kids at home! I remember those summer days, lovely, but nothing gets done like you want it to! It goes fast and one day you'll have the memories.
