Welcome to finish it up Friday!
I just finished sewing up my little connections quilt top this morning. Hurray for the push to finish something for Friday! It keeps me focused and boy do I need it.
I used Dreamin' Vintage fabric by Jeni Baker plus various fabrics from my stash. It measures about 60" x 71". I started this one last weekend, so I'm THRILLED that it's already a quilt top!
I'm very thankful for my clothesline, which makes taking photos so much easier. Today is a rare windless day, so that's even better!
Now it's your turn! Please link up your finishes for the week. Thank you for joining me for finish it up Friday! It wouldn't be the same without you. :)
Wow, that was fast!!! It looks beautiful, love all of those happy colors together!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful - absolutely LOVE all the color! And I was just telling my husband how I *need* a clothesline somewhere just for photographing quilts - he laughed but I'm showing him this picture as proof ;-)
ReplyDeleteit's sooo pretty! I love the colors! The deamin vintage looks beautiful, too.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great quilt - the fabrics are so fun!

ReplyDeleteGreetings from Finland!
ReplyDeleteI discovered quilting recently (I have done a LOT of other hand work stuff for a long time) and I found your blog by accident when I was searching stuff about machine stitching. Thank you for writing stitching instructions! I believe you saved me many hours of frustration. I’ve been reading through your blog and I still have a long way to go. Your work is very inspiring and I enjoy studying all the different designs you have shown in your photos. I have high ambitions and endless trust in my own abilities. I’m sure I’ll be brought back down to Earth someday very soon. Hah. I must admit though that I’m super envious of the fabric stores in the U.S. There seems to be a great variety of wonderful fabrics. My choices are pretty limited since the basic fabric stores around here don’t stock many nice fabrics for quilting and even less for my taste… I will post a link to my blog later when I have something to show…
Love that quilt...way to squeeze out a finish this week!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty! I think this would make a great scrappy quilt too. One day when I have time to tackle my scraps.
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and have read back through the year. A happy surprise is that I purchased Sunday Morning Quilts, a book I adored from the moment I saw it, a few months ago and you are the author. Great stuff! I keep trying to find a legend for your acronyms: What are WIP's and HCT's?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Yeah for a great finish! Dreamin' Vintage is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteKristen,
ReplyDeleteSorry! I assume everyone knows what the abbreviations mean. How silly of me! HST=half square triangles and WIPs are works in progress. If you see UFOs, those are unfinished objects, not alien space ships. Ha!
Hope that helps!
AJ
You amaze me every time how you can manage to make such beautiful quilts from so many fabrics. You have a special sense of colour and shapes!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity you open every week for us to share our work, too!
Wow, you put this together SO fast! It was great fun sitting next to you at retreat while you were plotting and planning, cutting and sewing. Love how it turned out! I bet you're happy you ended up making one quilt instead of two. Well done, my friend.
ReplyDeleteDoes my awesome new Sew Together bag count as a finish? I really love it. My sister asked me to make one for her - so fun.
Great quilt, that fabric is next on my wish list!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt - I love the colors in the fabric you chose - your pattern is fun in that it really changes when you change the color combos - very fun!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous top and beautiful pic, Amanda Jean. Such a pretty quilt top! Thanks so much for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore this quilt top! The colours are just perfect. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteLovely finish! I have a bundle of that fabric too, but can't decide what to do with it, so I just keep petting it and putting it back on the shelf lol :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on an awesome finish!!
ReplyDeleteyou always amaze me with the gorgeous new designs you keep coming up with. :0)
ReplyDeleteI like it, it's fantastic!!!!

Hello , thanks for the link up again, the Friday finish helps me to focus so much in order to be ready to link with your site. It's a lovely quilt too, you must have worked all night to finish it , Sue x
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is really fun and really clever!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
Cheers!
Lynn
I love how this turned out. The dark blues for several of those narrow strips really adds a lot of great contrast without overpowering it. And of course the scrappy look is wonderful as always.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful finish! Love the colour mix in this, Amanda Jean. You did a wonderful job balancing placement of warm and cool colours so that the eye keeps moving. Really lovely (and goodness, so quickly put together!). Wishing you a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteI like the quilt and think I will make one like it soon. It looks like a good way to use scraps.
ReplyDeleteThis Little Connections quilt is simply darling! What a great (almost) finish!
