Welcome to finish it up Friday!
Guess what? I made another pillow! Ha!
(Sorry, I'm getting loopy over here....)
I just finished this pillow cover and to be honest, it isn't my favorite. I redid the center swirl at least 8 times and finally I decided "it is what it is". The end. Maybe I'll like it more after I have some time and space from it? (I hope so!)
I do love the back. It's a fabric called running stitch by Michael Miller. It's a nice compliment to the front. The pillow measures 20" square.
It's made from scraps, so it is project #51/101! That's half way!
Thanks for everyone who joined me on my pillow week adventure. It's been a lot of fun to read your comments. So, thank you!
Now it's your turn to link up your finishes for the week. Thanks for joining me for finish it up Friday!
Ooh! This might be my favorite one yet! Feel free to keep 'em coming :-)
ReplyDeleteThe spiral looks pretty darn good to me! I love that back fabric -- I'll have to look for it.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Once you step back from analyzing the center (which is awesome), you will too. I love that little pop of plumy purple too. The last pillow yesterday is on my next weeks to do list as I have a tiny charm pack just dying to be made into a pillow. Thank you for all the great tips this week!!
ReplyDeleteOHH i LOVE this one!!!
ReplyDeleteThis one is so cool!
ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect to me! Love the backing.
ReplyDeleteYour pillow is amazing! Really GOOD on you!
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get enough distance from this pillow to see how wonderful it truly is!
ReplyDeleteI love your scrappy project goal! Way to make it to the half way mark!

Your pillow is so cute! I've struggled with the center of spirals, too -- it's so hard to get it to look perfect!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI love it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the tutorials! Love the dark purple strip near the center. I also like the spiral quilting on the rectangles. It just speaks to me.
ReplyDeleteI think it's fabulous.
ReplyDeleteGreat pillow. And more than half way through your challenge!
ReplyDeleteThat pillow would go quite nicely with a certain little boy's quilt...
ReplyDeleteIt's GREAT!I love the running stitch fabric on the back. Such a luscious green.
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite pillow.
ReplyDeleteI love this one! I also finished up TWO pillows today!
ReplyDeleteIf it really isn't your favorite and it needs a loving home- I love it. Really.
ReplyDeleteI love this pillow! I love all the bright fun colors. And so funny that the project I posted this week I also quilted in a spiral and the center of the spiral just about did me in. It is so much harder than it looks

ReplyDeleteI really like the spiral quilting. If you don't love it so much then why not not pop it away in a present drawer all ready to use an a Christmas or birthday gift, it is bound to be perfect for someone.
ReplyDeletemaybe you are not too keen but I really like this one, I suppose it is just as well we have different taste, it would be very dull if everyone did things exactly the same as everyone else
ReplyDeleteSpirals make this pillow all the better. I'm sure that if you left this pillow out on your porch even in the winter, some soul would snatch it up even if it meant she had to wade in waist high snow to get it.
ReplyDeleteThis pillow is gorgeous...all of my favorite colors and the quilting sets it off so nicely! Well done :)

More pillows for a better pillow fight, right? :)

ReplyDeleteMy favorite pillow so far!
ReplyDeleteI love this one - the colors, the rectangular shapes, and the spiral quilting!
ReplyDeleteThis pillow is beautiful, love the solid colors! you are on such a pillow roll, LOL. It is a fun way to get to make a lot of little projects and finishes, which keeps things exciting.
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful hues in this pillow...very refreshing to look at :)
ReplyDeletethe swirl start is awesome.. it's a touch wonky which gives character to the pillow, shows that you are not a machine but a real live quilting PERSON, and it's sort of mezmorizing...draws me into the pillow... I'm not a huge fan of the color combo but the swirl makes me love this pillow! Great work!
ReplyDeleteI really like this one, love that spiral quilting and I love the backing fabric :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting, I have been reading your blog for a little while and it has taken me some time to comment but I like your layout and the finish up Friday projects that you are posting. Very inspiring to get some things done, thanks. You can check out my blog at www.phatbobbingirl.wordpress.com if you get a minute.
ReplyDeleteI really like it, but then I've been working with this color palette a lot lately. The little pops of purple are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI love this pillow! The colors are awesome and I think your swirl looks great. I know it can be hard when you are critiquing yourself but it looks perfect from here...
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely a favorite of mine...love everything about it! Pillows are addictive.
