Welcome to finish it up Friday!
My little sewing desk got a couple of fresh coats of aqua paint! I LOVE the color. Love the look. The hardest part was letting the paint cure for a week before using it. My sewing room sure needed the splash of happy color. (It was really hard to photograph, though, because of the backlighting from the window.) I have so much more to clean and organize in my space before I am willing to show the rest!
This is what the desk looked like before. Such an improvement, no? I'm glad that this project is finished! I really like painted furniture, but painting furniture isn't my favorite.
Paint is Behr from the Home Depot. The color is Sea Life in a satin finish. (It's really nice paint. I was impressed!)
Just a note about my last post! I had lots of questions about the cost, cutting, etc, so I added a little blurb at the end of the post and did my best to answer the questions that came up. Thanks for your comments! It's always SO fun to read them.
Now it's your turn! Do you have a finish to share? If so, please link up! Thanks for joining me for finish it up Friday!
Your shopping spree blog has been on my mind all week - so glad you took a list - it would have just been SO overwhelming!
ReplyDeleteyour little desk is so cute!
ReplyDeleteDesk looks good. Great color!
ReplyDeleteI have become such a huge fan of this color lately. At the present time I think I like it even more than orange! Your sewing desk looks really great!
ReplyDeleteGreat color for your desk. I just bought some Annie Sloane chalk paint in the same color to paint the china cabinet in my kitchen. I have been sidelined by back surgery but seeing your desk makes me want to get painting!
ReplyDeleteLove the desk! My sewing area is so industrial looking but don't want to tackle a make over until I know what I want to do! I use our guest room as my sewing room and my husband even offered to make a Murphy Bed for the room so I have more room to sew when we don't have guests. What a sweetie, eh?
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love the colour!
ReplyDeleteLove the desk! Did you put a sealer on it? We're in the process of painting my daughter's furniture and weren't sure if we should.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I have several old pieces that I hope to paint in the next year... I have a feeling it might be addicting once I start. Love your color choice!
ReplyDeleteYou should put your machine on an inside wall where the temperature changes won't kill your machine.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Thanks for sharing your furniture painting journey. I have a large dresser that needs paint, and I am scared! Did you use a roller or brush?
ReplyDeleteI love the newly painted desk! Such a pretty colour.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous color on that desk ~ major improvement from the original! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love the new colour of your desk. It's what I would call turquoise and reminds me of vintage kitchen appliances. That was also the colour of the interior in my first car... A 1969 Mercury Comet. I named him Steve.
ReplyDeleteYour desk turned out great! Love the color!
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference a little paint makes...too cute!
ReplyDeleteFunny I am heading to the paint store tonight and painting some furniture pieces tomorrow. I, too, love painted furniture - maybe a little too much!
ReplyDeleteNow some gorgeous fun drawer pulls/handle .....
ReplyDeleteLove the new color! And your shopping spree looks like a dream!
ReplyDeleteYour newly painted desk is so cuuuuute! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! I had a desk just like that one painted green. My husband cut out a rectangle to accommodate the machine and put a ledge in. I used it all the time back in the 80s.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY like your desk! It's making me want to paint mine...which is also a boring white. I will have to start thinking which color to go with...
ReplyDeleteVery cute desk! Love the color!
ReplyDeleteLooking good!
ReplyDeleteDoes the clean and organizing in the sewing room ever end?
Happy Sewing
Love the Aqua....very partial to that colour. Have fun organizing the sewing room with all your new purchases. Thank you for hosting the linky party. Marie
ReplyDeleteGreat colour - I love the way an ordinary looking piece of furniture is beautifully transformed by a 'bit of paint' ... thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent choice, it looks fab!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! The color is great. Do you have that problem where you open the door and turn on the light just so you can look at how awesome the transformation is? I know I do.
ReplyDeleteYou did a wonderful job on the desk-it looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteCan't go wrong with that color! It looks good with so many others. Great job.
ReplyDeletelove the colour, the desk looks great, could do with one like that myself, use mine on a kitchen work top, usually standing up but do have a stool when the leg starts to ache
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I love the desk! It is amazing what a coat of paint in a pretty color can do!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteLove how your desk turned out.
