I have two small finishes today, but they are oh-so-cute! And functional, too. This mini mat measures 10" x 9". I really, really love how it turned out!
I used my honeycomb quilting on it. Simple. Easy. Just right.
It looks equally great with my breakfast....
or holding a bunch of my sewing supplies. Hurray for dual function!
I used a cute meadowsweet print for the back and a ticking binding to finish it off. Could it BE any cuter??? (I think not!)
I also added binding to this itty bitty coaster. It measures 4 1/2" square. It makes me very, very happy!!! Binding something this small is NOT fun. But totally worth it in the end!
I absolutely LOVE having and using little bits of handmade all around the house. Don't you?
Do you have a finish it share today? If so, please link up! Happy Friday to you!

I love your mini mat! I should make myself one of those... I always seem to be in need of something like that. Happy Friday!
Such happy, happy handmade stuff! Love that ticking, not sure I've seen it before. Looks like a pink fabric that I need :)
Both are oh so cute!!!
Now I'm having the urge to make coasters! I especially love the square spiral quilting!
I love your mini mat and I also like the coaster. Agree on binding on small things ....

Very cute - and very cute binding!
They are sooo cute. I am going to have to do something small sometime instead of going big.
both adorable and you've reminded me how much I need coasters!
Is that Whimsy fabric I see on the back? I never figured you for a Fig Tree Quilt fabric person? I love love love her fabric even though her look is "Fresh Vintage" instead of modern. I like that its a cross between a mug rug and a placemat. :-)
Your mat is darling, but it's the photo of your coffee that's getting me right now! I like my coffee just that color. Some lovely coffee-and-sewing photos for a dreary February.
I find binding small items a good way to increase my confidence in binding larger items -- binding in general is not my favorite thing to do so anything that gets me to like it a little helps. Very cute projects
I have a mini finish this week as well, though not so mini as yours. I'm trying to break myself out of a sewing rut, and so it's good to have any finish at all right now!
This kind of project just lights my creative fire! So cheery!
yes. Handmade all over the house is what it's ALL ABOUT!
I finished my quilt this week for the sole purpose of linking it up here! Thanks for the motivation. Your projects are always inspiring!

Amanda Jean, bless you for being a responsible adult and putting your food on a plate! I mean who really spends the time making a mug rug out of these incredible fabrics and then plops their cookies right down on top of it? NOT ME, GIRL. I use butter in my baking.
I love your little projects! They are so cute. And yes, I love having little bits of handmade around the house. It makes me happy. But I rarely make myself such things, and if I do, I don't use them because I don't want to get them dirty or ruin them. Aren't I horrible! And then I always wish I had used them.
my finish this week uses your honeycomb quilting-- thanks for sharing the tutorial!
Darling little lovlies!!! Off to watch your honeycomb tutorial! Thanks!
Loved your Legos from yesterday and your mini's are adorable!
I do love having bits of handmade around the house. You are spot on on this one! And that coffee...off to get myself one....
It`s super cute!
I am making a mini mat!! Our adult child eats lunch at her coffer table and fine, hand made wood furniture plus hand made pottery dishes is a no no! She is going to love it! A mini placemat only needs to protect the base of the plate!

Was super proud of myself for using all thrifted/leftover materials for my finish this week. Love your little mats. :)
Love your mat (fully planning to steal that quilting idea at the next opportunity!) and your coaster...and wow, your coffee looks like mine, Scary. LOL
Wow- I'm in awe of your binding on the coasters-- really. I attempted that a while back and decided I was trying to do the impossible. I made something else. But I still have those little squares...I guess I could try again. :)
Love them both. I haven't yet made the time to make small things like this for myself but hope to soon. Right now I have too many deadline quilts on my plate.
Very cute mug rugs! They are fun to make and also make a nice reminder of the larger quilts the fabrics came from. Here's an idea from mamacjt for single fold binding for small items...

I love the striped border on your mini mats =) I really like the ticking look.
I do this all the time with the leftover trimmings from my bigger quilts. I have a plastic bin full of them and when I need a quick present or a small thank you gift I just pick a couple and tie a ribbon around them....easy peasy!:)
V*E*R*Y Cute indeed!
