It was an avoidance project.
You know the type...
a project that was at the absolute bottom of the priority list,
which also means that it was the most appealing.
The idea for this quilt came while I was water color painting with my kids.
It was super easy to translate into fabric,
and fun to piece, too.
I love the colors together!
pinks, oranges and yellows from scraps and stash
aqua solid is ocean mist from connecting threadssize: 59" x 74"

It has been beside my bed and is my special treasure to read at night and dream on.
Then i find out you have a blog----- talk about win

You see, four years i suddenly became very ill with auto immune disease. I was employed part time
And very active with working wth the women and
Youth at my church and enjoying my family that
includes three wonderful grandboys.
As the disease progressed i had to leave my job as the severe and chronic fatigue made it impossible
To continue.
Sewing has always been a part of my life and so it was a perfect fit to attempt quilting.
I started out with applique, crazy me and soon was
Unable to hand sew and cut the intricate shapes it required due to pain.
I now have a new love-modern quilting and your
Designs in your book are projects that i can take
My time and realistically expect to finish. I am so excited and i am working on quilts for my grandboys.
I work slow, sometimes only an hour or so a day,
But i am making tracks and i wanted you to know
It has given me something creative to lose myself in, and has helped me to adapt to this big change in my life.
I wonder if there are others like myself who could use a creative outlet to help them deal with the
Adjustment to living with chronic illness and suc umbing to the depression and isolation that is so much a part of it. I apologize for the lengthy post. It was on my heart but i wanted you to know you have made this difference. God bless and your family. A slow but persistent admirer, sharon
Just wanted to tell you that of the several "modern quilt " books I have bought only 2 were worth buying. One of them was yours. Beautiful and full of inspiration. I will enjoy it for years to come.
