I was going to mail it, but I decided to hand deliver it to Cheryl when I was at market instead. It was fun to meet Nikolai, who is SO CUTE! (And no, I'm not just saying that.) I need to make baby quilts more often. They are fun to make and fun to give!
I used all kinds of cool colored scraps from my scrap bin, and pieced them together using the slab technique in our book Sunday Morning Quilts. The quilt measures baby size. :) I was too unorganized to take photos of the details of the quilt, but this shot shows a bit of the quilting. (Please ignore the stray threads.) The quilting pattern reminded me of a sky line. I made up the design on the fly, but it's being added to my quilting bag of tricks. The binding is a homespun that I cut on the bias. Love the touch of print in an otherwise all solids quilt. Hopefully the quilt will get used, loved and spit up on, washed, then used again.Ok, now I'm not one that likes to slap her photo all over the internet, but Tara took this photo of Nikolai and me. I had to share, because isn't he darn cute??? I love the expression on his face.
On a side note, it's Cheryl's birthday today. Happy Happy Birthday, Cheryl!
