Today I learned that Sunday Morning Quilts is already headed for it's second printing. What?!?!?! It was only 2 short months ago that the first batch arrived on my doorstep. This whole book experience has been quite surreal. A big THANK YOU to all of you who have supported us throughout this journey. It means so much. Really. I would be remiss if I didn't say a big THANK YOU to the folks at C&T, who have been aMAZing to work with. Seriously amazing.
I found a bit of time to play with some scraps today, just for fun. That totally made me happy. Now that I'm posting this photo, I'm not sure that anyone else can appreciate the beauty in this mess. I'm nearly drowning in scraps, but I don't mind. Not one bit. The possibilities in this basket make me giddy. (I may need help.)
I'm headed to Madison tomorrow for the book signing and then the retreat! It's been months of planning, prepping, sewing, planning. The piles I have been making are ready to take over. And so are my lists. :o) I'm so ready to retreat! It will be fun to sew for the entire weekend and as a bonus, I get to meet up with my pal Terri. I can't wait!
As far as the small projects sew along, I'm still working on it. More on that later!
Congratulations on the book - that is so exciting (but not surprising :)).
ReplyDeleteLOL, I have a basket that looks just like that - overflowing!

ReplyDeleteThe second printing?!?! {insert squeal of glee for you} What a great bit of news!
ReplyDeleteThat scrap pile is awesome. If I could reach out through my computer screen while your back was turned, I would pick up that strip from the back of the rainbow quilt. It is just so cheery!
Have loads of fun this weekend. I hope the teaching goes well and that you learn something great from the attendees too.
Congratulations on the second printing and to your very much deserved success. I hope the upcoming events are a blast for you.
ReplyDeleteI love scrap bins! If I could reach through the computer screen I"d snatch that argyle rainbos strip. Yoink!

Congratulations on the book news! Obviously, you struck a chord with a lot of people. Good job. Now, can I buy a book from you directly and have you sign it?
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you of the second running of your book. I can't wait to get a copy. I was hoping to meet you tonight but my son and I are working the food pantry at our church. I did finish the ragged squares top and wanted to show you how it turned out. I will just email you pictures when I get a chance. Enjoy your time tonight and this weekend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Amy

Something beautiful is going to come out of that pile of scraps and I can't wait to see what it is. Have fun with Terri. Wish I was there too, to see you both and learn how to do some machine quilting.
ReplyDeleteI just ordered that book from Amazon last week and got it in the mail today!! It's supposed to me to me for Mother's Day but I had to peek!! I want to make everything in it!

ReplyDeleteCan I come over to play in those scraps with you? ;o)
Have you ever made mini quilts with all your scraps? Congratulations on the book. You must feel so proud. What a great accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteYour book is great! I have filled up my project boxes (made 7) with lots of scraps and it feels so good to have them organized!!! Thanks!!!!
ReplyDeleteI used to quilt many years ago but lost my interest because of the time required by the artistic quilts and the lack of interest for the traditional style. With your book I have gained the inspiration for quilting again. No wonder your book is selling well!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Scraps are fun! The booth looked amazing from Terri's blog!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. I love your book and can't wait to pick a project for my scraps. I was so excited I took it to my little modern quilt guild and one of the other girls had it as well!
