I've been having a lot of fun with my small projects list. These pin cushions are proof positive of that. They are small-only 3.5" finished. The more I made, the cuter they looked. :) I may have squealed (a lot) when I was making these. I had to make myself stop at a dozen and move on to the next thing on my list.
I wanted to say thanks a bunch for all the sweet comments on my dress!!! You all sure know how to make a girl feel good. :)

*Pat Bravo is giving away a fat quarter bundle of the gorgeous new fabric line Rhapsodia over on the Art Gallery Fabrics blog. It's definitely worth checking out!
Both giveaways are going on through Monday, May 7th.
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend!!!
The pin cushions are DARLING. I want every one of them! Guess I'll have to search and see what you stuffed them with. I always enjoy your blog. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteHa, too funny Susan...that was my question too! These are way cute and I must make some!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute!
ReplyDeleteSee that blue one on the bottom? Yes? Good....now send it my way =D
They are adorable. One would look really good by sewing machine. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous; it's one of those "why haven't I done that" moments....surely you need to find new homes for all those little beauties......
ReplyDeleteThese pin cushions make me want to squeal with delight. Looks like a gratifying project :)
ReplyDeleteReally cute!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! Are these going to the attendees of your quilting retreat? *sigh* I bet they are....
ReplyDeleteReally cute! Those would look neat all piled up in a pretty basket. A wire one, maybe.
ReplyDeleteSa-weet! (So, if you don't want to make me a dress, you can give me a pincushion. But only if you want to.)
ReplyDelete;o)
Susan and Sue K,
ReplyDeleteThese pin cushions are stuffed with polyester fiberfill. Nothing exciting, but it does the trick! :) I have made these before and filled them with crushed walnut shells. (Which were bought at a pet store where it is normally sold as lizard litter, strangely enough!) hope that helps!
Amanda Jean
OK, this does it. Need to add "raid Amanda Jean's craft room" to my list of small things to get done. JUST saying. Love them all! But, ya know that one with the pink center sort of looks out of place, maybe you should just send it my way :-)
ReplyDeleteCute! Also, I finally got to see the book last week, it is great!
ReplyDeleteI soooooo need a pin cushion but havent got a clue where to start?!
ReplyDeleteI love these, they are adorable. Way to get that list a little smaller!
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely. I'm especially fond of the blue ones (my favourite colour). Must make some!
ReplyDeleteThese are so gorgeous, you always make me want to head straight to the sewing machine
ReplyDeleteLovely pincushions - is there a pattern for these floating around?? I would love to make these. Love your dress from previous post!
ReplyDeleteIf those pincushions are 3.5" finished, then those nine patches must be made with squares close to 1/2 - 3/4" squares! Yikes! You do petite and scrappy so well.
ReplyDeleteVEry inspiring. Every last one is lovely. did you use scraps or did you pre plan. I'm thinking this would be a really good use of some of the tiny triangles that I can't bear to throw out. I see some tiny star pin cushions comeing out of your inspiration. Thanks, I think.
ReplyDeleteSuch cute pincushions! I can see how it would be hard to stop :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable, little pin cushions just float my boat! I can see this all piled up in a cute bowl or wire basket just ready for a Grab and Go kit!
ReplyDeleteLove those pincushions! I would have a hard time stopping at a dozen, too - kind of like Krispy Kreme donuts!!
ReplyDeleteCute! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteWow, this set of pin cushions is so fun! I love them. This would be such a great project for me to squeeze in between homework projects.
ReplyDeleteLove these, and you get to mark off an item - yeah!
ReplyDeleteSqueal! Way to cross something off your list! Whoo hoo! Hope you had a splendid weekend!
ReplyDeleteSmiles~Beth
You sound like me. Once I start making those goofy pincushions, I can't stop either!
ReplyDeleteThey're really cute! They remind me of your doll bedding post with lot of little pillows in pillowcases :)
ReplyDeleteThe are so cute! I've been thinking about having a pincushion making marathon myself. :o)
ReplyDeleteAdorable!!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to make myself a new pincushion lately. And get new pins. Yours are sooo cute! Perhaps a 9-patch cushion is in my crafting future...
ReplyDeleteAfter the fifty other things on my list. haha.
I didn't get to comment below, but your dress is SEXY!! Way to go, sew mama! :)
Can I borrow one? I never made one myself!! I am not sure why I never make one myself! These little pin cushions turn out so cute! And surely you look good in your new dress!
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! I should give one of these a try!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute! I should make some to give away as gifts...or to toss around my living room when children come over for a visit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for answering. Now I know I have to make some!
ReplyDeleteLove Love Love them! So silly of me to wish I had more pin cushions when I'm sewing.
ReplyDeleteI saw a picture recently of a pin cushion collection in a basket - kind of like an egg basket. Since I don't care for pin cushions in use but people assume since I sew I need them, I thought this a great decorator idea.
ReplyDeleteThose would look super cute in a basket or a large jar as sewing room decor.
Glad you are having fun.
So cute! Send one right on over here! Ha!
ReplyDeleteLove these!! Inspiring. They would be great to have around as little gifts for those times when you need something small to give... and they are practical and cute as well:)
ReplyDeleteAmazing!!, I really love them.
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Susan
My favourite is the orange one!
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove the pincushions! These will make great Christmas presents for my sewing friends. Love the small projects party idea. I'll definitely follow along. I tried to put the button on my blog but it was really big. Is there a way to make the button smaller.
ReplyDeleteso cute and great use of scrap fabric. Great idea! I love your blog, it always makes me want to go quilt.
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute. My very favorite is the bottom left-hand corner one. Or maybe actually the top right corner one. Gahh I love them all! This is such a great idea to use up fabric scraps too.
ReplyDeleteVery cute, I love to make pincushions. I too am in wisconsin and loved visiting today.
