I know this challenge kept me on the straight and narrow this week. I so badly wanted to start something new (every single day!), but I buckled down and focused on finishing rather than starting. I hope I can keep on that trend! :)
Technically, I finished Mary's quilt last week, but I still had to wash, dry, label, wrap, gift and blog it. So, now it's done. :) And it's my finish for the week.
How about you? Did you finish anything? If so, please link to a specific post from the past week and share your fabulous finish!
Great job on your finish! :o)
ReplyDeleteHave a super weekend.
Sincerely, Trish
I finished up my sons Christmas stocking! My blog is brand spankin new so I only have a few posts! Thanks for looking!
ReplyDeletePS. I love your finish!!
ReplyDeleteLove this quilt. Just read about your finish it up Friday. Maybe this will get me to FINISH something. I have almost as many UFOs as ideas for new quilts! Gotta get finishing.
ReplyDeleteI love the clean colors of red, white and especially that aqua--soooo pretty. Great finish Julierose
ReplyDeleteI labelled, sent to Barcelona and blogged my mother's 70th birthday gift: the kokeshis quilt. With my brother's help (he lives there in Barcelona) tonight she's having this great surprise waiting her on her bed.
ReplyDeleteI love your new quilt, colors are fantastic!
Elena
I love the colors!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm home with 2 sick kids (2 out of 3) so I can't wait to click through everyone's finishes while watching yet another movie. God Bless Disney!
ReplyDeletedang... i don't know how i missed the annoucement... but, i'm in!
ReplyDeletei need some MAJOR motivation to finish off some WIPs and this is IT!
thanks darlin!!
x, H
Just darling! I strive to stipple like you!
ReplyDeleteI love the design and colours of your quilt, thank you for the link up!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to have a linky party to whittle down those wips!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your finish!!!
I love that it's not really done until it's blogged about! :) Wish I could join your linky party, but all hopes of finishing have gone by the wayside while we consider moving to a different house.
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten you were going to do a linky party for finishes! I was so excited about it when you announced it too because I've been on a mission to finish my WIPs. I've wittled them down from too many to count to 2 ongoing long term projects and 3 on hold (one of which is getting ready to be picked back up!). Not to mention the countless little things that I want to start on! This will give me that extra kick in the rear to get things done! I did have a finish that I actually posted about today, perfect timing!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your finish! Those few blocks with the blue and red backgrounds really give it a nice pop! Great job as always!
I love your star quilt! Now I want to do that for the quilting bee I'm in... :)
ReplyDeleteI love Friday finishes...some weeks it's easier to get things done during the week than on the weekend when everyone is home.
ReplyDeleteMary's quilt is gorgeous! I love the red and aqua. I just happen to link up with a design of yours! I hope I can keep up with you! :)
ReplyDeleteYay for a finish! I just happened to post about (a little) one on my blog -- what a happy coincident! Your quilt is loverly! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to have this baby, get rid of this carpal tunnel, and get back to sewing. I miss my machine.
ReplyDeleteThe aqua and red look amazing. I love your quilts.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome link-up. I love celebrating finishes!!
Great finish! And I totally agree that a quilt isn't officially done until it's labeled and washed ;)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fab weekend!
Smiles~Beth
yay, linky party! love your star quilt.
ReplyDeletefor next week, could you maybe switch to the photo link like Lee uses on freshly pieced? i just love seeing all the photos!
xox,
Chelsea
I love this idea! I'm totally using it for motivation (but not quite ready to finish something yet).
ReplyDeleteWay to go on finishing something! It is always a good goal to have. I have a list of five things (only one sewing project) to do soon, maybe even this weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea but I was back at work this week so no sewing got done sob
ReplyDeleteooooh what a GREAT quilt!
ReplyDeleteLove the aqua and red! Thanks for the Finish It incentive :-)
ReplyDeleteLove that aqua/red color combo! Very beautiful! Congrats on your finish and thanks for the added motivation to finish more of my own. :o)
ReplyDeleteOoops. I must be at the wrong place. I'm looking for a blog that only posts "starts" (even though you have 100 unfinished projects)rather than "finishes". Yep, definitely in the wrong place...
ReplyDeleteI rally your tenacity! I started yet another quilt top today, that makes 15 in process. Yes, I am the crazy quilt mom on my street. My mid year resolution was to FINISH my projects before Christmas. I am falling way behind but I have been inspired to stick with it and get them done before I start one new one. Now for me to get to teaching myself how to machine quilt on my machine w/o spending any more money. See you next Friday (and in between.) ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the finish! And thanks for the linky party. I've read a lot of them -- impressive finishes.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in this one. I think almost everything needs a little red in it.
ReplyDeleteI am fairly new to blogging and appreciate the opportunity to be linked to you!
I did! I did!
ReplyDeleteBut my camera died, needs new batteries, so I couldn't post them to my blog. :o(
I finished two quilts. One is a Soldier Quilt and the other one is for my cousin, Kristi. Does it still count if I post about it tomorrow? If not, I will count them next week.
It sure did help to have this extra little push.
Thank you!!
Deborah
What a great idea for a link party, that will get me to finish some projects, yay!!
ReplyDeleteSadly I don't seem to finish something each week - but your finish it fantastic! Seem to be starting too much that is new - bit naughty like that...Will try to do better!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with that quilt. It's another one of your great finished. I am hoping when we get home from vacation that I will get a bad (good) case of finishitis. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I have several wip that need to be finished.
ReplyDeleteThanks for starting this up...it's just the motivation I need! And I love your finish this week, and the fact that you met another quilter while trying to get that elusive perfect picture. I'm sure my neighbours wonder what I'm up to, too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun quilt! I love the red-aqua color combo, especially in my favorite wonky star block. I love how much they pop off that white background.
ReplyDeleteI made a couple of your storage cubes last week to hold snippets for a project, and cut up some flannel squares for a cozy fall/winter quilt.
Great job! I need to do something like this desparately...I have so many works in progress, but also so many new project ideas too and then there's always the guilt of starting a new one...
ReplyDeleteOn my! I love the design with the scattered colored blocks. Adorable!
ReplyDeleteA quick question ;o) You wrote... 'Technically, I finished Mary's quilt last week, but I still had to wash, dry, label,' Does this mean that you put the label on your quilts after it has been washed and dried? I'm fairly new to quilting. I have completed a couple of lap quilts, a couple of baby quilts and a few mug rugs. So I don't have a lot of experience. But I have to say that you are an inspiration and I really appreciate you being willing to share of yourself by putting your info out on line for others to learn by! Thank you, Sarah
ReplyDeleteI looks great! I especially like the colour combo. You have a great eye for colour and patterns mix and the overall result is always outstanding. Keep up the good quilting! :D
