I've decided that I'm going to host another quilt along. I realize that blogland needs another quilt along like it needs another debate on which type of quilting is superior...modern vs. traditional. (HA!) However, I thought it would be fun to host a 36 patch quilt along to celebrate my 36th birthday. If you want to join in the fun, I'd be happy to have you quilt along with me. I'll plan on starting with fabric requirements and size options next Monday. Care to join me? C'mon...what's one more WIP?
Happy Monday to you!
Ohh - my first quilt-a-long! Scary, but I'm with ya, Amanda Jean!
ReplyDeleteOkay, you got me with "what's one more WIP?" I'm in too Amanda Jean.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm. Looks like a good stash buster for me. I'm in! Like you said... what's one more WIP? Yippee for quiltalongs! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteWhy not -- I like your attitude ;)
ReplyDeleteCan I make a 32-patch since I'm ONLY celebrating my 32nd birthday? ;)
ReplyDeleteI'll play along (if I don't get too distracted) :)
ReplyDeleteHow can one not join in on your birthday celebration.
ReplyDeleteI'm in.
Love Leanne
hahaha gotta laugh at ourselves. I've been waiting for a quilt a long that looks do-able. As in can be crammed into spare minutes while dinner is cooking, because of course you can't have too many projects on the go. Plus my blog is called Works in Progress so that's my get-out-of-jail-free card! Yeah I'm in.
ReplyDeleteThis will be my first quilt along. I would like to join you all, but I am going on a holiday for three weeks, is that a problem?
ReplyDeleteGreetings Yvonne
I just finished my biggest WIP. Plus I'll bs 36 in September. I'll join you. Why not?
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! This will be my first quilt along too, I can't wait to get started!
ReplyDeleteCount me in! I can get the supply list from you at our retreat this weekend - woohoo! See you in a few days, my friend!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe that is a good idea - because saturday night I sewed the last stitches on the binding on the quilt that I startet more than three years ago - I discovered your blog at the nineth block in your first quilt along, and cut all pieces that night - It started out really quick, but the blocks were laying in the shelf a long time, until they came along to a shop and we got some help to find the right fabric to borders - so now it is washed and dried - and finished!!
ReplyDeleteAnd since I am approaching 49 - maybe a little bigger block would be ok....
Bodil
I'm in.
ReplyDeleteAs a fellow 36 year old I should probably join in... Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI'm in! I just ordered a die to cut multiple 2.5" squares at once for my big shot cutter. This is just the excuse I need to start experimenting with it.
ReplyDeleteThis will be my first!...Count me in! I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteIs this like a postage stamp quilt? I have a Dream On layer cake that I'd LOVE to use for something like this. Like, 2.5" finished squares, set off with white. I'm eager to see your next post! :)
ReplyDeleteCount me in too!
ReplyDeleteYep, your QALs are always FUN and nice.
ReplyDeleteLucy~
I would love to do a quilt along with Miss AmandaJean.....dusting can wait!
ReplyDeleteI've been a lookie loo of your blog for a few weeks now a silent visitor if you will and just wanted to say how much I love coming back to your blog posts and how refreshing your writing style of your blog is , I do have one question "do you have any extra tips or tricks on getting a straight 1/4 inch seam?" I recently made my first quilt (go me yay lol) and let's just say the term " scrappy " look has nothing on my quilt but I didn't have the heart to tear my seams so followed threw to the end and it's not to bad but I would love to make something as stunning as your quilts
ReplyDeleteHugs

Cool. I'm in.
ReplyDeleteCoun me in. I'm going on vacation for 2 weeks but hopefully I'll be able to catch up with all off you. It will be fun!

ReplyDeleteHi!

I don't need another WIP, but I need another destashing project! Looks quick and easy!
Thanks, take care, Leslie
I'd love to do this as well. I am going to try and use up some of my stash in the process. Either way I'll do my best.
ReplyDeletei'll celebrate your birthday by particpating in my first too. Bring it on. Selina
ReplyDeleteI will consider participating...I have joined you in a quilt along some years ago. I wait and see, ok?

ReplyDeleteI'll celebrate right along with you!!
ReplyDeleteOoooh you temptress!
ReplyDeleteCount me in. Looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteI remember 36- well, maybe I don't. How about on my next birthday I host a quilt-along where we make 59 blocks? Oh, yea. They'll be lining up. 36 is a better number.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm in. I did your quilt along last summer and I didn't finish until Jan, but it was worth it. This one sounds a little easier.
ReplyDeleteI had so much fun doing last year's QAL that I'm in for this year's. And you're right, what's one more WIP?
ReplyDeleteI'm in!
ReplyDeleteoh man, i haven't finished your last quilt along...
ReplyDeleteCount me in! I've always missed your other quilt alongs. This one looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteI will do it...but it is my first one so tell me more about it. I am going to just remember 36...this month I celebrate 14 more but...36 was a good year so I will stick with that!
ReplyDeleteI'm game! You're right--what's one more WIP?!?
ReplyDeleteooh, just in time for the school holidays, when I'm supposed to be working on finishing quilt tops for youngest and middlest, as well as renovating. Sounds like just what I need! But I would like to give it a go....
ReplyDeleteI'm in! Can't wait for details!
ReplyDeleteI have never participated in a quilt along. I have followed you from afar but this time I am jumping right on in. I look forward to quilting along with you. btw, I just completed my first piece quilt top this weekend. I am officially hooked. Now if I could just figure out how to quilt it...:)
ReplyDeleteDon't. Tempt. Me.
ReplyDeleteI will consider it. :)
If I can find this page again when I get home tomorrow, I will join along and add myself a link on my blog too to help me remember what I am doing.
ReplyDeleteOMG! Another WIP! I am IN!
ReplyDeleteAll right...I'll do one more. I'm doing two others at the moment but I'd hate to miss out. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm in! This will be my first quilt-along. So, be gentle, please! Yay! I'm very excited!
ReplyDeleteI've never done a quilt along, but I would love to try it : ) I'm in!!
ReplyDeleteConsidering I just finished the tops to your last summers quilt along and the 9 patch before that, what the heck? I'm in. I think.
ReplyDeletewill someone explain how this will quilt a long will work? sounds fun and with everyone supporting each other, the quilt is sure to get finished
ReplyDeleteOh my, I had my 54th birthday a couple weeks ago but 36 sounds good to me.
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Birthday, May each step we take lead the way to Peace.
I think I will join :)
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anyone I'd rather quilt along with than you! And 36 is such a fine square number, much more manageable than the next square milestone on my chronological trajectory. (Hint: It's bigger than 49.) Looking forward to all the soon-to-be-revealed details and the fun.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! I love your quilt alongs, even if I only read them right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm in. Who cares about another WIP? I've got so many now and to be frank it just makes me happy! More quilting, more fun. Bring it on!
ReplyDeleteMy first quilt along! This will be fun! I simply love reading your blog and i hope i can keep up with your speed for this quilt along :)
ReplyDeleteI want to jump in...hopefully in time with the readiness of my new room and I am already being intrigue with 36P...so far 20...and now...the ultimate - 36P and then it will evolve to D36P ...wowzaaaaa! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI think I will join my first quilt a long. This is my first foray into online quilting!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll try, sewing machine is on the blink atm, perhaps it will be hand stithing to start
ReplyDeleteI would love to join!
ReplyDeleteEva-Marie
How does this system work? I've never made a quilt, I don't know, if I'll be able to follow, gonna be off on vacation too soon... And my English is not so good :P Well. I'm in :D
ReplyDeleteI'm in! My first time ever in a quilt along... this will be fun!
ReplyDeleteI've never done a quilt along before. I'm considering making this my first!
ReplyDeletei have never ever done this before, but as i am expecting my third child in 12 weeks, my youngest begins this weeks with kindergarden and we just moved three weeks ago - i guess it is time to start something new. i'm in!!!
ReplyDeleteI still have yet to put my quilt back on from last years quilt along. But it's the only way I get my quilt tops done - count me in. Yes, I was hoping you would do one this summer. Thanks for all the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI'm such a sucker. I want to, I really want to. I wonder if I can keep up. I am putting myself in the maybe going crazymomquilts category. I think that means yes because, heck, what is another WIP?
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!!
I have two piles of fabric ready to be made into quilts for Christmas gifts. I had better join this quilt a long so I can get them done!
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahaha! I do believe that's my motto. "C'mon . . . what's one more WIP?" I totally love you, Amanda Jean.
ReplyDeletecount me in - I hope!
ReplyDeleteI'm so with you -- Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteCount me in!!
ReplyDeleteWhy not! It sounds like fun! I've not been in a quilt-along before, so I am looking forward to it.

ReplyDeletePlease, count with me. I would love to quilt with you. Cristina from Spain
ReplyDelete36 me parece un buen número, lo intentaré.

Maria

What fun! I've been resisting all the other quiltalongs, but it's such a nice idea to celebrate your birthday this way that I think I have to join in. Especially since yours is one of the first blogs I followed when I started quilting! :) Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun QAL!
ReplyDeleteSure I need another quilt hehehe
ReplyDeleteYou know I can't resist your QALs! I just made a second "Round and Round", so clearly I'm smitten. Oh, and thanks: I need another WIP like I need a hole in the head... :-)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing what you have in store for us!
I just loved last summers QAL - though I must confess my twin sized quilt top is still just a top...Work in progress:) I don't think I can resist another QAL with you - I can't wait to see what you get started!:) Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteCount me in! It'll be my first QAL, my sewing machine needs a tune-up, and I've got two unfinished quilt tops on my spare bed...but like you said, what's one more WIP?
ReplyDeleteOh, man, I was just thinking of organizing a sew-along/quilt-along WITH you to share the fun (and the work). Darn. I've often wanted to make a postage stamp quilt. Looks like these squares will be bigger (2" maybe?) but it's pretty close. Definitely tempting.

ReplyDeleteMany happy returns on your b.day. I'm thinking 36 is a lot of tenny-tiny fiddly pieces right? Not, then may just join in with the fun, otherwise I may just play watch-a-long and drool over the beautiful quilts you all produce.

I'm In. Keeping myself busy helps me to keep at my own goals. I need something that'll require me to use my 12lbs. of scraps....
ReplyDeleteI'm such a nerd that I just now figured out what WIP even stands for, let alone starting another one. I'm IN for sure. This will be my first quilt along ever.

And happy 36!
This sounds like a nice first time quilt along for me...I'm in.
ReplyDeleteI would like to join in too - It's going to be my first quilt along too and since I'll be turning 36 in 2 months it works for me that way too!

ReplyDeleteMe!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in... :)
ReplyDeleteI'm about to finish a top from the last QAL I participated in. I believe it's time for another!! I'm in! Oh and BTW, I love your tutorials.
ReplyDeleteI'm in! I am recently unemployed...:( but now have plenty of time for sewing. And if it busts stash, it works for me. Also, I love, love my nine-patch quilt that I made a couple of summers ago from an earlier CMG Quilt-along!
ReplyDeleteTracy
