asterisk block

This block is for my dear friend, Tara, for the brand spankin' new Two's Company Quilting Bee. The red and white quilting bee was the brainchild of my friend Andrea, and I'm so happy to be a part of it! The block was actually designed by my friend Penny. This also doubles as my Fancy Block for the week, a paper piecing challenge that I am doing with my friend Melinda. I LOVE my quilting friends and I love quilting WITH my friends, even if it is virtually most of the time. :)

Hope you are having a happy Saturday!

  18. I /just/ made this very block! It was the first thing I'd ever paper pieced. Mine is Christmas-themed, to be part of a gift for a friend. I'm not sure I want to commit to a whole Christmas-tree-skirt worth of these blocks, but it could be a potholder if nothing else.

  19. I've long been a fan of this block. And thanks for linking over to Melissa. She's a fun find! BTW, I saw that you're about to cave on the Farmer's Wife QA. I'm holding strong, but it's hard. GRRRR, I'm tough ;)

  24. this block was one of my first paper pieced projects, I made (of all things...) potholders. I was too unsure of the whole paper piecing method which I have come to love.
Your block is darling and reminds me it is time to resurrect a few of those blocks from my UFO pile!
