I am so enjoying working on this quilt!!! It is definitely all about the process. It is going to take forever! But no worries, I enjoy hand stitching very, very much. There is one thing that I try not to think about while I am stitching, namely, it will be a completely hand pieced quilt top. That seems ludicrous. But then again, why not, right? :)
edited to add: I wrote about the specifics of this quilt in this post, including the link to the video tutorial.

Is blogger acting weird for anyone besides me? I had a friend tell me that my last post disappeared. She saw it in her reader, but it wasn't on my blog. It later reappeared, but it ate all my comments. :( It's kind of frustrating. So if you left a comment in my last post and it disappeared, don't worry, I didn't delete them. I appreciate each and every comment. I guess blogger must have had a hiccup. Anyone else notice anything funky?
I just posted the very same thing! I wonder what happened. It was a bit of a stinker, because there were some special birthday wishes, that ladies left for me.
ReplyDeleteYour stars are super cute! I like the hand sewing too. :o)
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely, Trish
Yes I have seen blogger acting very very weird. I think I saw that someone said that it was having a "mental health" day.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get this pattern??! I love it and want to do it!
Oh yeah, something funky is going on.
ReplyDeleteI am really liking your quilt. Beautiful things take time and I think yours will be gorgeous.
Blogger people said that they were having problems and had to delete posts and comments made yesterday. They're working to restore everything. Pretty wacky.
ReplyDeleteAnd whoa. That quilt is amazing.
I have the scoop.
ReplyDeleteBlogger had soem issues after the maintenance Wednesday night. They made blogger read-only (couldn't log in to your dashboard) and rolled back one days worth of posts & comments for all Blogger blogs. It was shut down like this for nearly 24 hours. Now they've fixed the issue, re-enabled the dashboard, and are slowly re-rolling out all the posts and comments. They should reappear.
(I am in no way affiliated with Blogger, I just use Blogger and was affected and following the news. :) )
I think one of their servers went down. Dashboards were not available for about 24 hours, beginning late 5/12. There was some issue with posts made late on Thursday, though they say they will be able to restore all.
ReplyDeleteBlogger was down for about 24 hours. Blogs were read-only and any posts or comments left after sometime on Wednesday disappeared. It looks like the posts are back but I don't know if the comments will return.
ReplyDeleteLove the new quilt! If I only had the patience!
yesterday i couldn't even look at the blogs it looked like it was all down =(
ReplyDeleteyour stars are pretty =) im doing a apple cores stitchery and a hex quilt myself by hand =D
Wow, so pretty!! Yes, I had been unable to even access my blog account for a couple days.
ReplyDeleteYes, blogger wasn't feeling well!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is going to be amazing! Make sure you make one for each of your kiddos to inherit ;)
yes, blogger 'ate' what I had written & saved as a draft yesterday. sigh. Seems to be working ok for me now. btw, darling stars!!
ReplyDeleteyour quilt will be lovely! i'm also working on an all hand sewn quilt so you are not alone...lol. i'm doing a hexagon quilt & loving it.
ReplyDeleteThat's going to be one gorgeous quilt! I love hand stitching too... I'm working on a hexagon quilt so I know how you feel!
ReplyDeleteYeah Blogger was down for what seems like eons fixing posts and comments that went missing. I hope they restore the comments eventually!
This is really beautiful! Are you going to give details on the star quilt? are you paper piecing?
ReplyDeleteLove the stars. Love.
ReplyDeleteE-gads, I thought it was just me! I'm such a techie wizard, I thought I screwed everybody up! Glad that Blogger did it and not me! Love your star quilt....."Little Miss Patience"! I'd be dead before I finished something like that! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is going to be beautiful! And with blogger down I felt so disconnected ..
ReplyDeleteBlogger has been all kinds of a mess these last few days. Thrown me for all kinds of procrastination loops. HOW am I supposed to procrastinate in finals week with blogger down?
ReplyDeleteIt's posting blogs today that it posted yesterday and the day before! About 20, so far, have come through twice.
ReplyDeleteBlogger was definetly down for everyone. I love your stars. It is going to be a beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeletelove it! isn't it so much fun deciding which stars go where? looks great so far!
ReplyDeleteI received an email from Blogger Buzz stating that they had some technical difficulties that caused some of the problems you have mentioned. They think the problem is now fixed and apologized for the inconvenience.
ReplyDeleteThe stars you are quilting look great, I am not patient enough for all of that hand piecing.
hand stitching??? my, oh my. it is lovely and look forward to watching it grow.
ReplyDeleteBlogger was having issues yesterday...was down almost the whole day.
ReplyDeleteShare the pattern for the stars, please! I'm looking for a handwork project I can take along...

Blogger was killin' me today. So glad it's fixed. Your handwork here is mind boggling! I really love it!
ReplyDeleteThis will be such a fun quilt. It will take ages, but you'll be extra proud when it's finished.
ReplyDeleteBlogger has been having a tantrum the last few days and was offline yesterday. Serious blog withdrawals here.
Love, love, LOVE these stars. I have some templates for diamonds but I've been busy with hexies and haven't gotten to them yet. It's nice to have something available when you're ready for handwork, isn't it.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone can piece an entire quilt like this, it's YOU!
ReplyDeleteBlogger had a senior moment, a brain fart, who knows what but on the day of the Bloggers' Quilt Festival, it was out of commission for half the day! But it's back now and hopefully won't ever do that again!! Love your stars - very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI really don't think you're crazy for hand piecing this. It's lovely. And I have been working on a king-size hexagon quilt, all by hand, for probably better than 10 years now. It's one of those projects that I set down to work on something else, but know I can come back to & pick up right where I left off. Besides, it's too big now to drag around too much!
ReplyDeleteLove the stars..the blogger brain farts not so much! Happy quilting!!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet!
ReplyDeleteJust think how much less equipment we'd need if we did everything by hand.
I LOVE this pattern! I have been out of commission lately. Have you mentioned the name of the pattern? I'd love to have it. Looks like a good alternative for hexagons--which I need--or want. :o> Great blog!
ReplyDeleteI've been seeing alot of the hand quilted stars in progress and I'm very interested. Would you be willing to do a tutorial for us wanna be first timers? Thanks so much. Rose
ReplyDeleteHi. I put myself on a long journy of hand piecing also. If nothing else this will be a good lesson in preserverance.
ReplyDeletelove the stars! I made a hand pieced kingsize hexagon quilt last year, and I was amazed at how quickly (relatively speaking!) the whole thing went together. Hand quilting it is a somewhat slower affair, but I'm cool with that.
ReplyDeleteLove your stars. maybe it can be my next thing to do. I am busy now with hexies.
ReplyDeleteYes blogger was down all over the world.
weird!!!
I just love it! I admire your patience and perceverance!
ReplyDeleteliving up to your name again, but so beautiful, could you link the pattern? Can it be done by machine, hand quilting is a bit too crazy for me!
ReplyDeletepreciosas estrellas!
ReplyDeletehi :)
ReplyDeletethe blogs were down in the last days ;(
the quilt is so wounderful and i love it. can you tell me how much templates you made and what size they are? i tried to make some but i think mine are much bigger (doesnt matter so the quilt will be finished in time) but the little ones look so much nicer.
have fun and enjoy makind stars
Yesss! Blogger stinks lately! It deleted my last post too. It's not just you, don't worry.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I commend you for hand piecing it. I am working on finishing a quilt that is all hand pieced, but it is one my grandmother or great grandmother started and is 2" squares of 1930's clothing and flour/feedsacks.
ReplyDeleteLoving the rainbow of colours! Enjoy the process.
ReplyDeleteAbbe
Came here for inspiration...very pretty stars quilt!
ReplyDeleteMy dashboard was off all yesterday morning. Then when I could get on it, my last blog was gone. I had had a comment about it and it was gone also! Now today I checked and it is back on. I think Google is trying to repair something and has taken some posts off and then put them back on. Have a good weekend everyone!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt will be beautiful when it's finished and what a treasure! I see many have asked about the pattern. Will you post about it or maybe a tutorial?
ReplyDeleteOops! I see you did post about it on your April 25th post. :D Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGood to see progress on the star quilt... I'm making one as well and just stared sewing all the stars together. All off a sudden the progress is very visible. Love the process and the fact that I can bring it anywhere.
ReplyDeleteyour stars are amazing. i love the colors and fabrics you are using. this labor of love will be treasured for each and every stitch.
ReplyDeleteYour star quilt is BEAUTIFUL. Love hand pieced quilts...You will be so happy with the end results.
ReplyDeleteYes blogger made me very sad yesterday too.
Like the stars. I handpieced my first quilt.
ReplyDeleteYes, blogger is not super cooperative.
Whoa, now I know why you named your blog like that...
ReplyDeleteSame problem here, I think it was a world wide problem...
ReplyDeleteLove you new quilt!! I had the same problem!! Not funny!! Anne:-)
ReplyDeleteBlogger: completely frustrating the other day.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt: Oh my stars!!!!
Un trabajo fantástico.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is going to be fantastic! And yes blogger went crazy yesterday. Something along the lines of it switched over to read-only mode and all scheduled posts were delayed? I'm not too sure about the specifics but it wasn't just you!
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteClassic. It's going to be so lovely, no matter how long it takes!...and what a treasure for your family. I love to have things that have been made (by hand) by people I love.
ReplyDeleteI love your stars - and you're a better woman than I to tackle a hand pieced quilt. Ask me sometime about the 1000 pyramid blocks that I have cut and in a bin . . .somewhere . ..
ReplyDeleteThey look so sweet! It's going to be a stunning quilt.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is beautiful! I've heard a lot of people say they had problems with Blogger (one of the reasons I recently moved to Wordpress)
ReplyDeleteYes, Blogger went on the fritz last week. I lost a lot of stuff that I had written in draft, and then the posts published without my knowing that the edits were gone! Very frustrating.
ReplyDeleteI caught the 6 pointed star bug from you, I have been tempted by the hexies. But when I seen your stars I was smitten. I ordered patis today one & half inch , I can't wait to get them.....What size is yours?
ReplyDeleteThese stars are adorable. I am addicted and have ordered my Quilt Patis.
ReplyDeleteI like your beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteCongratulation.
have a good day
