This is my Topsy Turvy quilt. I made the top back in May or June. I finished it in August. The tutorial went up on the Moda Bake Shop in December, and here it is, January, and I'm finally blogging about it. I used to be more on top of things than this! Sheesh.
This is a super duper easy quilt to make...all you need is a layer cake, a few yards of fabric for the top and a 12 1/2'' ruler for easier construction. It's perfect for a beginner. This would be a great pattern to showcase some large loud florals, although I do like it done up in these soft and subtle colors, just for a twist. You can find the tutorial here.

Ha! Every bed should have a quilt rack footboard. Or is it every quilt should have a quiltrack footboard? Although, in your case, with soooo many quilts, you'd need to live in a barracks with rows and rows of beds. Hmmmm...barracks for the children...now, there's a concept....
So lovely! I like how most of the blocks are subtle but then there are those few that really POP.

Love this. I have so many large prints that I have problems using ina way that shows them off... this is perfect. I am off to print so I don't forget about it :)

I love this quilt! Seeing the tutorial on the Bake Shop made me wish I had a layer cake to start piecing. Such a fun way to showcase a selection of your favorite prints.

My question is a bit different, how often do you change the quilt on your bed?
I went to the link you posted and that quilt was made in 2007. The quilt on my bed was inspired by the bento box quilt that you made sometime later.
By the way, I love, love, love the orange of your quilt. Some day I'm gonna make me an orange quilt.

Didn't realize the quilt holder was your bed until you mentioned it! It does make a great quilt holder. The quilt is pretty and looks like it is an easy to make one. I am working on a Catheral Window quilt for grandson who is getting married Dec. 31. This is my 4th one to make. One grandson got a Eureka because I did not have time for the Catheral Windows. Now I need to make ME a Eureka quilt!
Sometimes a simple design and an added bit of wonkiness is all that's needed to make a beautiful quilt. I love the colours in this one. It's just lovely.
I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see you posting "old news" since I'm only now getting around to wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year! I'm thrilled to read what you wrote a couple posts back about your running and your weight loss. Good for you and your husband. I forced myself to become a runner 5 years ago and dropped 15 pounds that haven't come back. I never thought I'd say it when I started, but I love running - it's amazing how much it improved my life physically and mentally. Stick with it and enjoy all the benefits of healthier living!

Havent known what to do with them, but I love em, and since some were my Grandmothers and a couple came from my BFF at sewtakeahike, they're special and deserve a little spunk to set em off! Hi AmandaJean. I loved the simplicity of this pattern when I saw it posted at Moda's site. I printed it out & made it over a weekend. I had a hard time choosing which layer cake I wanted to use but I ended up using an older one I had on hand. (Strawberry Lemonade). What a fun quilt. Now I need to get it basted & quilted. Thanks so much for sharing.
