thankful

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We enjoyed a lovely day with my side of the family. It was a fairly small gathering, and everyone managed to get along. (That isn't always the case...we all tend to speak our mind a little too freely at times.) We had good food, good laughs and good company. I'm sad that my favorite holiday is over for another year, but I'm thankful that I had a chance to spend it with family.

While I was home, I found some vintage wool skirts in my mom's cedar chest that actually fit me. I'm excited to be able to add them to my wardrobe! We also messed around with a vintage Smith Corona typewriter, which was a hoot! Come to think of it, most of the things at my dad's house are vintage now. :)

This is my 700th (!!!) post. Thank you for visiting, reading and commenting on my little old blog. I am sooooooooooo thankful for each one...because without you, blogging would get very boring very quickly! :) So, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

I'm also so very thankful that I have the chance and ability to create. Sounds a little corny, doesn't it? But I am thankful for it because creating adds so much to my life. It's so fulfilling!

I started a new quilt today. The idea has been rattling around in my head for months and months. It's getting kind of full up there....I think I need to get faster at translating some of those ideas into fabric. :) I have a full story behind this quilt, but that's for another day.
Hope you are having a great weekend!

Glad that you had a nice Thanksgiving! We had one of "those" times were the family members spoke their minds too much and too loudly:(

Vintage????....I remember wearing skirts just like that...that I made.....because when I went to school......no slacks were allowed for girls! Yeah! I guess they are vintage I graduated in 1970.
Times flies when you're having fun :0).

Happy sewing

Happy Thanksgiving! It's my favorite holiday, too... I'm actually making a second Thanksgiving dinner right now for hubby and I- we didn't really get to celebrate on the actual day. I'm nursing a war wound, too. Don't try to peel your finger with a vegetable peeler. It hurts. :)

That's a lot of posts! We're so thankful for you as well! Now you need some knee high boots to wear with your skirts to keep your legs warm in those cold Wisconsin winters!

I've been knitting and sewing up a storm, but not much quilting going on--maybe this week!

chance and ability to create - doesn't sound corny at all.

not everyone has that ability OR that chance/opportunity.

a supportive husband & family helps a lot don't they??

I love the green fabric in your newly started quilt :)

And I think it must be nice to get all the family business aired before christmas.. we dont have thanksgiving so all the family-speaking-too-freely-mess is a bit in the way during the holiday... :) unless we skip it as your family did ( so nice!)

I love this. It looks just like the doodad I used to doodle all over my high school notebooks back in the stone ages.. Hmm.. maybe I should pull out some old papers and turn some other doodles into quilt blocks :-)
