I've been sewing my brains out and I have the arm pain to prove it. I just haven't kept up with the blogging end of it all, so here's a bit of a rundown...
I made 2 quilt tops last week. LOVE those Kona solids!
2 is the number of lunch bags that my sister and I made last week. We talked about making these for 2 years before we actually got around to it. I love them! Each one could also double as a small purse or as a cute knitting project bag. 2 is also the number of times my sister quilted hers. Let's just say that free motion quilting did NOT go well for her. At all. It made for some good laughs, though.
2 days until I send my boys off to school. I have mixed feelings about it.
I quilted 2 quilts on Saturday. Which means I have 2 quilts to bind.
2 is the number of hours I stayed up past my bedtime reading a great book. It's not all about quilting all the time around here, if you can believe it.
Tomorrow I get to see my 2 cutie pie nephews. Yay!
And 2 is the number of hours I plan on spending at the beach this afternoon.
One last thing for today, although it has nothing to do with the number 2, I've been loving Pandora. Love, love, LOVE it! If you have kids, I highly recommend the Schoolhouse Rock station. It's so much fun. The kids and I are kind of addicted.
Happy Monday to you!
i love those kona solids too! and 3 is my number! three quilts to bind. 3 bags to make...

ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to see your projects come to life!
ReplyDeleteYou have been so busy lately; I can see why your arm hurts! I love your quilts, especially the blue solids, which just glows! I love how you tied everything to the number 2 in this post - such a clever girl! Let me know you think of that book cuz I read The Last Sin Eater by that same author and I loved it. Might want to try another one by her. Hope you enjoyed the beach!

ReplyDeleteI think I love all your quilts.
ReplyDeleteThat blue one reminds me, somehow, of Lego bricks. Must be the proportions of the rectangles. Love it!

ReplyDeleteI have no idea what a kona solid is - yet - I just learned what a layer cake is.It was the word cake that lured me in.
ReplyDeleteGreat book! She's one of my favorite authors.
ReplyDeleteThat second quilt makes me thik of my parents. Those were their wedding colours, 44 years ago!

Great work! I LOVE that Kona blue one!
ReplyDeleteGood Lord! You are a sew-aholic!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the lunch bags.
I read Redeeming Love years ago. I loved it. It's really hard for me to get into "Christian Fiction" (often a TERRIBLE writing style!--where are the editors???) but that's one book that I dug. And a couple others of hers.
Love the lunch bags. I too, would like to know what pattern you used. Great project and great choice of fabrics. Connie
ReplyDeleteI have read that book too and loved it. It is one of those that moves and changes you somehow so I think about it often.
ReplyDeleteYour quilts are beautiful too!!
great quilts!!!
ReplyDeleteI just love your quilts and everything posted! you are so industrious makes me realize how back I've gone in my sewing.
ReplyDeleteGood Heavens, you have been busy - what a wonderful sense of accomplishment you must have at the moment!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the blue! Awesome. I just finished my 3rd (attempt at a) quilt. I used your Ragged Squares tutorial and it was fabulous. Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteI especially like the asymmetry of the green and orange one.
ReplyDeleteI love the plaid one - and I love the spiderweb quilt in your previous post. The spotted backing is perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove your projects! I've been in a sewing frame of mind the last month or so. I'm slower to churn out projects as I'm a novice. But I did make a "Joseph" coat and a library tote bag for my daughter who is off to her first day of Kindergarten in 2 days. Your quilts are inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI loved that book too! You may want to read her "mark of the lion" series! Incredible. And while your at it, Liz Curtis Higgs trio of books with Fair is the Rose and Thorn in my Heart, and Whence Came a PRince are also amazing books!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see quilters use the heads to create something new to make the job easier. Thanks
