I DO know what you mean, but speaking for myself, I don't ever want to stop! Quilting seems to be a "disease" but a good one. It has gotten me through some tough times by keeping me focused on the project at hand.
I think you are preaching to the choir....that would be why I have so many UFO's I am compelled to start new projects because the patchwork is just so darn pretty. I have a friend that thinks I am nuts because I take beautiful fabrics and cut them into tiny pieces just to turn around and stitch them again. I told her I call it THERAPY!
Totally agree..specially as I have just looked at all the fabric I have for "one day" It's something about all the wonderful colours..and designs...mmmmm
Someone once mentioned to my husband that she thought I was very talented with all the patchwork I did, to which my husband (God bless him!) replied, "I call it possessed....." ;-)
Completely agree! I was just at an exhibit of antique quilts, marveling at some (AMAZING!) teeny tiny patchwork -- and then thinking the quilter was a bit nuts to take such tiny piecing on (by hand! no chain piecing! no rotary cutter!)
I just finished my 1st 9 patch blanket. Haven't mastered teh quilting part yet but I am already trying to start another 9 patch. It is really relaxing to me in a weird kind of way lol
Look on the bright side, at least its a productive addiction! I seem to have become a bit addicted to hand piecing, which is significantly less productive, but still fun :)
quilts quilts is always on my mind. I try and sew everyday. I have to send my sewing machine off to be repaired. It isn't even in the mail, yet and I already miss it. I think I need a small back up machine to tide me over till I get 'my precious back'. I love to read articles re: quilts and different quilting designs and enjoying reading blogs, your comments and your blogs. Keep up the amazing work, funs, and spirit. Bonnie
I think its all about the creative process. you start off with something small, and end up with something big, Patchwork in itself isnt hard to do, it just takes a long time
I just started quilting a few months ago and I'm an officially an ADDICT! I need to find my hubby one of those bumper stickers that says "Quilting Widower". ~hehe~ I love it! So happy to have found such a wonderful hobby!
