(please mail on or before September 30th.)
I'm planning on having a big opening party with my kids on the 30th. When I told my sister about my plan, she said I was a nut case. But we already knew that, right? I am going to have fun on Wednesday!!!
I just sent mine in a plain envelope I meant to email you about it. I was afraid it wouldn't get there in time if I waited to send it until I had a padded envelope. My daughter was in the hospital that week and I wasn't sure how soon you needed it. I hope it arrived safely.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great cause! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteMy package is from Singapore! and I've sent it last week (Sep17) and hope it reached on time ;)
ReplyDeleteRegards/Lily
Man, I wish I was going to be there for the opening party. Would you consider delaying it til next weekend?
ReplyDeleteAwesome! We expect lots of pics!
ReplyDeleteYay!! Thanks for teaching me something new Amanda, you have inspired me to make a wonky stars quilt, what a fun block.
ReplyDeleteYep...thanks to you I am now in love with wonky stars!:) I am making a lot of them in xmas fabric and putting 3-4 together in a strip, backing them with something different to make it reversible and making them into runners/table toppers for xmas presents....fun, fun, fun!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you recieved my star....can't wait to see what everyone else made!:)
i wish i could fly over for the opening party...sounds a lot better than my "sock parties" here..where I throw the socks into the middle of the room and we match them! :)
ReplyDeleteI've missed the mail today - so it will have to go out Monday. A lesson in reading things carefully - in the tutorial I missed the part about scant 1/4" seams. Had to redo it. But now I'm hooked on those wonky stars too.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! This is going to be fun!
ReplyDeleteI missed the mail today too! (by minutes, I saw him driving the other way down the street when I was at the mailbox) Hopefully it will get there by the 30th!
ReplyDeleteI hope my package got there safely :) I think the big opening party's an awesome idea!!! My sisters always think I'm nuts anyway so thpppppt! :P hehe
ReplyDeleteI missed the mail too but will send it on Monday. I'm sure I'll see the opening on your blog (fingers crossed).
ReplyDeleteWhat a great things you're doing with these quilts. I hope you take lots of pictures at your opening party and post them to the blog.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun!!
New retired and trying to do my first quilt. I have sewed for years and seen many a quilt done, but once I finish putting it together I will be in new territory. Glad I found your site. I started with a simple 9 block square and since one square is white cotton am using fabric paint to paint primative flowers on it. They are stubbey paint sticks and so the flowers look like children's art. I am loving it. Will link to you and I have my instructions.

Amanda Jean, It's wonderful what you are doing for Quilts of Valor. I've been a member of the group since 2007. It is amazing what a group of quilters can do! Happy quilting and I'll be back to check your progress!

ReplyDeleteI don't know how you do it. I would of opened up those packages as soon as I had 5 free minutes! I'm excited for you and the kids. Will there be party hats?
ReplyDeleteI have to apologize for not sending along my square. We had a family friend lose their son and my head has not been attached.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry but I will love seeing what you make.
I'm amazed that you can put aside a huge stack like that. Mail is one of my favorite things, and I tear into it as soon as it arrives. My package is on the left, third from the top (yeah, right). I'm curious on the bigger packages :-). I can't wait to see pictures of all the different blocks.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing pictures of all the blocks! I really loved making these stars so much that I couldn't make just one. They went in the mail yesterday (09/28), hopefully they will be to you for the opening party.
ReplyDeletehaving been a part of this, I am excited to see the outcome! Thanks again.
