my sweet, sweet friend Linda sent me this quilt for my birthday!!! isn't that so sweet? I LOVE IT!
I'm going to use the upcoming holiday as an excuse to take a little break from the blog. I'm gonna celebrate my birthday with my sis (and the entire country). You know, it sounds fun to have a birthday on a holiday, but in reality most of the time it's kind of a pain. But I'm going to try to make the best of it. :)
Have a great holiday weekend! And THANK YOU so much for all the well wishes for my retreat teaching opportunity. I appreciate it so much!
Happy Birthday Amanda!!!! Hope you have a fantastic time celebrating. I will tip my cup for you as well :0)

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday and what a wonderful gift!
ReplyDeleteI already commented I think but I just had to come back and tell you something! I noticed you started blogging in 2006 so I went to see your very first quilts and realized you had linked to ME!! You picked out 30's fabrics to make an Aunt Betty 30's quilt. Luckily the picture is still there but my blog post went poof when I lost most of the old blog. But I did start searching from Dec 2006 forward to see if you eventually made the quilt and didn't find one. When I got to August or so in 2007 I knew you had probably never made the quilt because you had discovered your unique way of free piecing scraps and blocks to make such wonderful quilts!
ReplyDeleteBut it was fun to look back and see my name there! I still love that quilt! Just thought I'd tell you!
happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, and hurray for Colorado! I hope your retreat goes well.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. As a fellow American who also shares your birthday. I have to agree that it is a pain to have a birthday on a holiday. I have had more grilled food on my B-day than I care to remember;)
ReplyDeletehappy bday girlfriend!!!
ReplyDeleteJuly 2 birthday here. I feel you on the kinda sucky. I've got it coming from all directions! My sister had her son June 25 and my nephew's girlfriend was due July 1 or so and I told her I hope she wasn't late because it sucks to have your birthday around a holiday. She just gave me a dirty look, she ended up having the baby girl on July 4. So now I have a nephew's birthday exactly one week before mine and a niece 2 days after. Oh well I still love them both!
ReplyDeletehappy birthday amandajean!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful day, week, and year :) Congrats on your teaching gig. They are extremely lucky to have you :)
Love the quilt!

That is so sweet of her to make you a quilt! I'm trying not to be a selfish quilter and keep them all, but it is H.A.R.D. :) Thanks for stopping by and linking -Allison
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful birthday gift!
ReplyDeleteHave a great break!
You are so lucky, I swear... either that, or just really nice. I'm thinking its a combination of the two.
ReplyDeleteSO, would love to have you join in on the "my first quilt" parade... yes?? :-) Wouldn't be a parade without you!
happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great day!
PS I saw your name in my quilting mag!!
