Not as many as you have. Today I have the day off work, (I'm a teacher and the mid year reports and exams have just finished. I did mine before report-writing day, so today is MINE!!!), so I hope to catch up over this weekend. I'm a week behind.
I'm so excited...I finished number 70 this morning and am working on setting them now. I used them as leaders/enders and got through them quicker than I thought I would. This was a terrific idea, and I appreciate your sponsoring it.
I'm not following along with you but I am working on a disappearing 9 patch that has required me to make 42 some (I think). Does this count??!! :) I can't to see what everyone ends up with.
I'm at 49 and should get some more made this weekend. I'm ready to start thinking about how much fabric I need for the sashing. Thanks so much for the idea, I love my blocks!
I'll admit it....I am behind. I am going to catch up though...I promise...no more procastinating...except I have to finish a romper first. Oh well....I'll get there.
I think I have thirty something, but I have all the squares for all of them and the scrappy border cut out! I usually sit down and do a batch of them at a time.
My hand quilting is *so* close to being done, I can't hardly stand it! Now on to the bias binding, LOL! Should be finished, with a pic, early next week, busy weekend...... I <3 this quilt!
If it's day 46, then I've got 46 blocks made. I've been very disciplined about this quilt-along and that makes me happy! Guess I've got another 24 to go....
I am WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY behind! Silly me joined the Old Red Barn quilt along too and I am behind on that AND I have to go out of town this weekend. Maybe next week I can play catch up??? Love seeing your pile of blocks. I still don't know how you do it.
Hey, question here. Amandajean , you use lots of white fabric....how do you keep your quilts clean? Do you wash them often, or do they sit on shelves, or do folks wash their hands before using them, or what? (I'm always so dang practical...) BTW I am having such fun with this project. At 53, my first quilt along!
I've been at 70 for about two weeks now, but as I started laying them out, I discovered that I hated the color combinations in four of the blocks. They just weren't bright enough! So, technically, 74, but only the 70 that I like will be appearing in the top.
WooHoo! I have 72 blocks made. Now I need to cut my sashing. I too started the Old Red Barn quilt a long too. I love quilt a longs. Thanks for putting this together. When does the next one start?
With the wedding and all, I decided not to join in. I'm relieved too as I would have put too much pressure on myself to keep up. But I'm loving seeing everyone's progress. There are going to be some really stunning quilts come out of this quilt along. Good on you for organising it. Thanks also for all the lovely comments on my blog. I'm so lucky to have such wonderful craftswomen being a part of my quilty bloggy life. Andi :-)
Im not telling! Ive been lagging behind, nut hopefully by the time you finished your ten Ill be caught up......now to go and loose some children somewhere..........
I've made 73. I might make 7 more, but I'm worried it might look unproportioned and more square than rectangular. I'm eager to get to the next step though...
I think I'm in the low forties. I have squares ready to go for the new patches so it will go quick when I sit down to sew. I am so impressed with your Old Red Barn Co. quilt a long finish! I am getting close on that too. You said your dad was a farmer, does that mean you grew up on a farm, is that part of why you are so prolific? Just wondered...
Love to see a stack of blocks! Still kicking myself for not joining! Hope you do another quilt a long soon - and I look forward to seeing your blocks all layed out!
stefanie...i do believe that is exactly it. i did grow up on a farm and times that we weren't busy were rare-especially during the school year. it's extremely hard for me to sit still without doing something.
we do use our white quilts in our house. i don't wash them much more than any of my other quilts. i don't seem to have many problems keeping them clean...even with kids in the house. :)
I am not officially signed up for the quilt along, however I jumped on the bandwagon a few weeks ago. I have finished 72 nine patch blocks, and I alread have them in rows. I am going to work on it some more today!
this was such fun! i finished my blocks, sashed the top and had it ready for the border blocks. . . folded it up to keep the kiddos off of it and now I can't find it--where on earth could I have put it? Hmmm. Anyone else have these mommy-brain moments?
I have 70 and the sashing is in place and the top is finished. I joined the old red barn quilt along and have that top finished also. Being out of school for summer sure does free up some time for sewing. I hope to have finished both quilts before we go to camp this summer.
Okay, I was hoping you would ask this after the weekend! I am at 20, but I have quite a few half finished.I have a weekend to myself so I am hoping to catch up.
I got carried away the other day and finished making all of mine! Next I'll add the sashing. First I want to get caught up on the other quilt along. I am so happy that I have gotten back into sewing again! Thanks!
I only have 35... I got a little bit ahead, then started to slack off... I am making two smaller quilts though, one from batiks, and another from scraps. I'll catch up this weekend!
I'm at 46. I am a few behind. I am hoping to catch up today. I have to say thank you for the great project. It has been so fun cutting up scraps and remembering the projects they came from.
I'm super happy to report that I'm at 4! I know, way behind, but it means that my sewing machine is finally set up in our new house, connected to power, and that I used it this weekend!
I've got the strips cut out for nine more, too.
I'll be blogging about them (and posting them to the Flickr group) later today.
My blocks are all done and actually made 7 extra. I guess, I was having way too much fun. I'm doing a different layout with some applique .... but won't be doing anything with them for a while as I have way too much on the go and must finish some tops first.
When I began this project (late), I decided to make 2 of each block, so now I'm up to 70+. Think I will keep going as I may make 2 quilts. We shall see though. It may be one large one!
I'm enjoying this a lot and it keeps me quilting, so that's what is important to me. Hadn't planned on making another UFO, though! LOL.
I have just finished my 80th one tonight! I see I have done a few too many, oh well, it can never be too big. I'm a bit unsure how good my quilt will look with the white borders. I may have to wait and see how others have turned out, to convince me. Mine just looks funny laid out with borders, to me anyway. Of course I'm no expert, this is my first quilt.
Hey, you are not going to believe this. I have completed 72 9 patches! I am hoping for a queen size of this beautiful quilt. I also have so many more scraps to slice and dice (and sew). I have found scraps to projects I worked on years ago that just so happen to be hanging in the closet as UFOs. I must get busy with those. I just wanted to say THANK YOU for the inspiration to create such a thing of beauty.
I put the final borders on my quilt top yesterday. Hoo-ray, it's done, now off to the quilter. I'm putting a cotton batt in it so when it's washed it will shrink and look antique. This was such a simple quilt but so involved it took a while to do. But I really love how it turned out! Thanks!
I'm up to 40-ish. I lost count! Good thing you posted today or I'd be further behind! Giggle.....
ReplyDeleteI´ve have 46. Not that I make one everyday, but last week I made 10 or so. So tomorrow I must make blocks for the next week! I just love this projekt!
ReplyDeletewish my sewing was unpacked. Will just have to admire everyone elses hard work. Until I get every thing set up in our new home.
ReplyDeleteGood Job!!
I am at 41. I little bit behind but I think I can make it up. I am loving this.
ReplyDeleteNot as many as you have. Today I have the day off work, (I'm a teacher and the mid year reports and exams have just finished. I did mine before report-writing day, so today is MINE!!!), so I hope to catch up over this weekend. I'm a week behind.

ReplyDeleteI'm so excited...I finished number 70 this morning and am working on setting them now. I used them as leaders/enders and got through them quicker than I thought I would. This was a terrific idea, and I appreciate your sponsoring it.

ReplyDeleteI'm not following along with you but I am working on a disappearing 9 patch that has required me to make 42 some (I think). Does this count??!! :) I can't to see what everyone ends up with.
ReplyDeleteI've got 45, but I'm going to have to take a few days off as my in-laws are in town and they're staying in my sewing room, (the guest room!)
ReplyDeleteI'm at 40+ so guess I'd best get some more done to catch up. Thanks for keeping us updated on how many we are suppose to have done.
ReplyDeleteStill behind but will catch up. I promise!!
ReplyDeleteWow, good for you! That looks like a lovely stack of 9-patches. I've only made 18 so far.
ReplyDeleteOverachiever!!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLet's just say, by the end of the weekend I'll be caught up!
Thanks for the updates -- I was wondering how far we should be by now. Have a great weekend!
52! I have more fabric cut and pieces pinned ready to go as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm at 49 and should get some more made this weekend. I'm ready to start thinking about how much fabric I need for the sashing. Thanks so much for the idea, I love my blocks!

And, I'm almost caught up with Old Red Barn.
This weekend will be a busy one!

ReplyDeleteI think I'm at 46. I was doing catch up last night and thought I was ahead. Oh well - at least I'm not behind :)
ReplyDeleteI think I have thirty something, but I have all the squares for all of them and the scrappy border cut out!
ReplyDeleteI usually sit down and do a batch of them at a time.
My hand quilting is *so* close to being done, I can't hardly stand it! Now on to the bias binding, LOL! Should be finished, with a pic, early next week, busy weekend...... I <3 this quilt!
ReplyDeleteI've only got 30 left, but since mine are a little smaller, I can get them done in a day or two. But I still need to get crackin'.
ReplyDelete39 here! i have a busy weekend ahead so i won't be getting many more done till next week.. but i like how it is coming along so far!
ReplyDeleteI'm at 40-something, but I have all of the pieces cut for the remaining blocks.
ReplyDeleteI had to jump ahead and stopped at 100. I started putting mine together last week. Thanks for all of your inspiration;)
ReplyDeleteSince I am a late starter, I am way behind! But I look forward to being caught up this weekend!
ReplyDeleteI just got caught up yesterday. I think I'll try to get to 70 this weekend. This has been really fun! Thanks for organizing it!
ReplyDeleteI'm stuck on 50 until after I move this weekend. Yuck! Would rather be sewing...
ReplyDeleteIf it's day 46, then I've got 46 blocks made. I've been very disciplined about this quilt-along and that makes me happy! Guess I've got another 24 to go....
ReplyDeleteI am WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY behind! Silly me joined the Old Red Barn quilt along too and I am behind on that AND I have to go out of town this weekend. Maybe next week I can play catch up??? Love seeing your pile of blocks. I still don't know how you do it.
ReplyDeleteYeah - I'm at 46! No ufo here (at least I hope not). But it is getting harder to find 2.5 inch scraps from my scrap stash.
ReplyDeleteHey, question here. Amandajean , you use lots of white fabric....how do you keep your quilts clean? Do you wash them often, or do they sit on shelves, or do folks wash their hands before using them, or what? (I'm always so dang practical...) BTW I am having such fun with this project. At 53, my first quilt along!
ReplyDeleteI finished 62 blocks then started oldredbarnco quiltalong. I've got to sew some blocks this weekend so I can stay on schedule!
ReplyDeleteI've been at 70 for about two weeks now, but as I started laying them out, I discovered that I hated the color combinations in four of the blocks. They just weren't bright enough! So, technically, 74, but only the 70 that I like will be appearing in the top.
ReplyDeleteI'm at 38 so lots to catch up on. I tend to to four at a time so just a couple days to be caught up....assuming I get started...
ReplyDeleteWooHoo! I have 72 blocks made. Now I need to cut my sashing. I too started the Old Red Barn quilt a long too. I love quilt a longs. Thanks for putting this together. When does the next one start?
