outgoing quilts.
6 to the linus connection
2 for gifts
this one was already gifted before i took the photo.
i let my friends have their pick, rather than to try to guess what color would suit them best.
from my favorite local quilt shop. i ALMOST made it to the end of the year without buying more. i figure i was close enough.
from my library.
from my library.
i rarely buy craft books, but i heavily rely upon my local library and their great inter-library loan system. i LOVE my library.
(from top to bottom: one skein by leigh radford, last minute patchwork + quilted gifts by joelle hoverson, alterknits by leigh radford, bend the rules sewing by amy karol, liberated string quilts by gwen marston, and Better Homes and Gardens Two Color Quilts.)
not pictured: stacks of laundry and dirty dishes.
both are too frightening to reveal.

Ignore the laundry.
Ignore the dishes.
There's too much else to do in life!
That said, I just started my "Dear Jane" Quilt. I'll be up for air sometime in spring...
Love all the stacks!Just ignore the not pictured stacks :)! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Great stacks! Nothing more inspiring than a stack of new fabrics. :)
I've found laundry and dishes are willing to wait quite patiently while I sew and knit...
Have a great day with your great library books!
Very organized! Lots of great stacks!
You are so generous with your quilts; I’m not sure I could part with so many after spending all that time working on each one.
That new fabric sure is pretty... I don't think I could have resisted it either!
nd I love that alterknits book too... I made a couple of those cute little cabled, beaded skull caps in the front of it last year and they came out really cute.
I just requested 2 of those books after seeing your post. Yeah! Feel free to post anymore great book finds. Love all your stacks. Also, I had a question for you. When you are free motion quilting how do you secure your starting and stopping? Of course when I sew normally I backstitch but I couldn't do that. Any thoughts? Do you just tie knots. Please feel free to email me. wildercard at sbcglobal dot net
Thanks and Happy New Year.
the library is one of my favorite places too. i think i need to request some new ones..i am repeating the check outs.
You've been busy and it looks like you are well prepared to be as productive in the New Year... I hope you'll continue to share your beautiful work.
i just looked up the linus connection and adore you even more now. how beautiful. i've been wanting that amy karol book too!! my mama friend and i often fantasize about going to the library and visiting the grown-ups' section... *sigh*
I know you hear it all the time, but your quilts amaze me. To have a stack of quilts that are all leaving your house is especially amazing.
Happy New Year!
Lovely stacks of quilts and fabric. You are quite generous to donate and gift your quilts.
That is a very impressive stack you have there!
I absolutely love las minute patchwork + quilted gifts :)
I'd really like to see you take on the colour wheel quilt that's in there.
It would be amazing!

I just want to tell you that I am loving your blog! I just found your blog and its wonderful, so wonderful that I just sat here for about 2.5 hours going back through all your posts admiring all your quilting! I just finished my first three quilts ever, I made them Christmas presents and I haven't been able to post them on my blog yet because they haven't been opened yet... I am in awe of your work, it's excellent!
I Love seeing pictures of quilts stacked - theres something comforting and homely about it!
I was wondering if you have a picture of the third quilt down with the bright colours and black - it looks stunning!
Erin :)
Love stacks as well! Waiting on my latest splurge of fabric to arrive and I can stack too!
Lots of fun stacks. I am sure you will get lots of inspiration from your library books.
You were a lot more productive with Christmas gifts than you let on - all those mitts! What a good friend you are.
I love looking at things in nice neat stacks. Our place is in a mini post-holiday wreck state right now. Your quilts and library books are a calming sight!
erin,
the black and bright quilt is shown in this post:

I love stacks - they're like tangible LISTS!!!
Lovely quilt stacks! The mitts are cute... lucky friends! Great new fabs! I've seen most of those books! Enjoy! Hope your Christmas was wonderful!
I just bought last minute patchwork + quilted gifts by joelle hoverson I am so excited to start some of the project in there, but first I have to finish the flea market quilt.
Just wanted to thank you for all the inspiration you've given me this year. Your blog is one of the first blogs I check in the morning, I say to myself "let's check out how much sewing the crazy mama did last night!" hehe. Enjoy your new fabric, after going no buy for almost a year, you certainly deserve it! :) Can't wait to see what you create with them!!! Happy New Year!
I have one of those books open on my work table right now! "Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts"... page 45 has the most adorable pincushions and I was going to make one tomorrow.
Haha - I took a picture of the ironing need to be done. To show that quilting do help me with the chore (well that is my argument).
Love your stacks of quilts and fabrics! I too wouldn't worry much oabout those not so fun stacks! You do them and then they come right back!!! :(
I too love the library! I use them all the time for all my crafting needs! My kids enjoy all the fun picture books too. :)
What great stacks - sounds like you have accomplished a great deal. I love the library too and have checked out every knitting book they have as I learn about my new hobby. What yarn did you use for the tinyhappy fingerless gloves?
kirsten,
i used a few different yarns for the fingerless gloves...the green is lamb's pride (from a yarn shop)...the reddish pink is moda dea vision (from joanns)...and the charcoal grey is cascade 220 (from the yarn shop).

You are so generous to be giving all those beautiful quilts away!
I would love to rely on my library too.....but they don't have the american quilting books :( Actually, they don't have a lot of quilting books at all....
Your remark about the dishes made me lol...I have a similar laundry-situation at my house :D
I hope you have a happy and blessed New Year!!
Thanks for not showing the laundry and dishes. I have enough of them here!
Beautiful Quilts and fabric.
Lovely collection of books. Hope you'll find lots of inspiration in there :)
You are such a talented person and generous too! I know the Linus quilts will be greatly appreciated!
i love the library too. it's so nice to be able to check out the craft books! cookbooks are another thing i check out in excess.
i'm sure you have a stack of new ideas too! have a wonderful new year!
That Gwen Marston book is fantastic!
Happy New Year!
Thanks for all the inspiration. I pieced The flee market fancy a few days ago and I love it!
Dishes? Laundry? These words should have been crossed out from dictionaries ages ago!!
Still loving your work, thanks for showing it.

I'm glad you love your library. I'm a librarian in a small rural library and loyal library patrons are just the BEST people.
Love the stacks, especially the fabric!
What stacks of loveliness!
Wow, you have a good library! I'm too impatient, and feel "obligated" to use my Borders coupons... so I have a lot of those...
I think quilts and fabric always look so lovely stacked like that. I just want to touch them and admire them. What a nice thing to do. I wish I had a library in my town.
I referenced your Flea Market Fancy Quilt and linked your blog in my post today. Thanks for such a great tutorial...I am working it up in Christmas stash...Come and check it out.
I think I'm gonna love it.
Love your blog!
Marlene
Yes, yes, ignore those bad piles! I made the felted bowls from One Skein for my sister for Christmas (and some for myself!) Love them! Happy New Year!!
fun stuff! I love how your mitts turned out!
Thank you for this wonderful source of inspiration. I've been looking at your posts and pictures for what seems like all evening, and I am blown away. Beautiful. I'll be back!
Can you tell I'm catching up!? Your library is better about carrying great crafting books than mine . . . I usually have the same few to pick from! :) Love what you've been up too!
